Ok let me start of by saying a few things in hopes that this post doesn not get removed.

1) I AM NOT SELLING ANYTHING

2) I AM NOT SELLING ANYTHING

I am simply here to get ADVICE from other collecters in the event I DECIDE to sell the pins. At the moment though I AM NOT SELLING anything.

I have about 54 Disney pins inside of a Disney Pin Trading black book. The pins are mostly from 2001 while I was working at disney. They range from character pins to special event pins such as 2001 halloween party/food and wine/festival of masters/christmas party/30th anniversary. Also alot of the pins are related to the 100 years of magic. I am many LE pins that came out for that event. If I were to sell this. I repeat if i were I AM NOThow much could I possible make? What would be considered a fair price on ebay.

Forgive me if I sounded harsh but i am worried this post will be removed if I didnt explain certain things. THANKS

Rob,

Are you selling something?

Value and sellability are strictly dependant upon finding someone who happens to be looking for your item. I have seen the same pins languish on eBay with no bidders for 2-3 auctions then the 4th time they are available someone bids through the roof. Being Disney-location-challenged myself I tend to watch eBay quite often trying to find some of the current pins for series I have started. I tend not to bid on pins with a starting price over retail. While I appreciate the person is trying to make some money, I would rather see it start lower and allow the market to determine value. This of course is from a buyer's point of view. Also, unless I am looking to pick up some traders for a trip I rarely bid on pin lots (groupings of more than one pin). I have enough pins to keep track of without bidding on a set of 10 to get one that I was really after. I also believe that the price per pin is typically lower for a lot versus individually. This is probably of limited value to you so I guess my advice would be, if you want to sell your pins put them up for sale individually and price them at the lowest price you are willing to accept. The market will let you know if your prices are reasonable or not. Good luck with your decision. Remember, there are alternatives to selling, you could trade the pins either for other pins or for something else. I've traded pins for Hot Wheels Cars, Snow Globes, and even an autographed baseball so anything is possible. Trading is much more fun than selling as you get to meet some very interesting people and learn alot about "stuff".

Jeff
