I do have a question. In the future how can I tone down the brightness before I take the picture? Obviously it was bright and sunny. I was using the lens shade. Do I need a polarizing lens?

A lot depends on what camera you have? But yes, a polarizing lens would help, but simply setting for a lower exposure might too. What I do sometimes with my P&S if it looks too bright is to half click while aiming at the brightest part of the scene so the auto exposure sets for that, then holding it at half click and reframing it to what I want.
Sorry for posting another photo so fast, but I couldn't resist posting the backside of the Imagination Pavilion. Did you know there is a restroom back there that apparently very few people know about and use?
