If someone went to one of your sites (or even a customers site) and copied the pictures from it without first asking you or paying you would you be so forgiving? I doubt it. Those pictures, until purchased by the guest are still the property of WDW Co.
First of all there are copyright issues involved as far as my sites go and my clients sites go. There is a copyright statment that incompasses this issue. It's not an issue about if I would be forgiving- but rather if my attorney would be forgiving.

If one is to get technical, the photos of individuals on the Disney site would not be copyrighted to Disney unless the people in the photos signed a release (which I doubt) and I also highly doubt that they are copyrighten to Disney on the site. (That's why there is not a watermark on the photos.)

So Disney gives them away? Ohhhh thats right, they dont. They dont give them away because they cost money. I didnt say that it was a copyright issue, I said it was a money issue. If Disney wanted you to have them without first paying then they would just hand them to you. Plain and simple. No, one is not to get technical. Just answer this simple question: (and it is a simple one since you seem to have missed it the first time. I'll try to keep the reading level low here...)

Would you like to have someone take a picture from your website without paying for it first?

...and I also highly doubt that they are copyrighten to Disney on the site. (That's why there is not a watermark on the photos.)

Are you really that thick? Come on! People waterwark photos in that EXACT situation daily. Those photos until bought by the guest are still the property of WDW Co.. Sounds like an echo in here... Oh yeah, I already said that once. You must have missed it the first go around.

It's been an issue when some have wanted to make the photos taken in Disney, by Disney photographers, and make them into greeting cars or enlarge them. They have been told that, legally, they are not supposed to do it unless they are given permission by Disney, which can take quite a long time. So...do people do it and get away with it? Sure. But, sorry...that doesn't make it right.

Why is it that one person can give their opinion on something but as soon as someone else takes issue with it...the person taking issue with it is accused of being tough or accusing. Sorry, but I am entitled to my opinion, even if it makes someone look like they are trying to 'scam' someone else. If the shoe fits, wear it. If truly, the quality is that bad, why in heavens name would you want to send it out to people? Take your own photos or have a Disney photographer take one of the whole family, using your camera. They will do that and it's waaay cheaper than having to pay those 'outrageous' prices. Sorry but the example I gave about the kids ages stands...people try it all the time. It is a valid example of the many ways some try to get something for nothing at WDW. Should we start with the refillabel mugs now??? :rotfl:

Wow some of you really have issues!

All I can say is if you get this worked up about some poor quality photos then I'm hoping I will never have to be standing in line with you in a grocery store- I'm sure you are the type to flip through the rags in line and not buy them.

And G00fyDad, grow up.

Wait, I should stoop to your childish level and make it look like this:

G00fyDad, grow up

Grow up?? I am grown up son. I just asked a simple question and you cant seem to answer it. If you dont like the responses you got here, take your comments elsewhere.

And as for the "rags", (is that term even still used??) I dont bother to look through them and your comment shows just how lacking you are for intelligence. Looking through the "rags" is the same as looking at the photo online. If I take the image without first buying it, I am stealing. If I take the "rag" without first buying it I am stealing.

Any other comments from the grown up here? Please make your next one at least somewhat informed.

I am not your "son" and in fact I am a female. I would also appreciate it if you acted somewhat informed and not so stereotypical.

Have a great day.

We no longer have a debate board on the DIS to move this to. And since it seems as if debate is what this thread has dissolved to, it will be locked.

I believe the question has been answered and this thread is quickly moving toward being removed. No more attacks.
