My DS and DGF are in Disney right now. So far they have like 30 pictures on the PHOTOPASS. Does anyone know if you can buy ALL the photos for a good deal. I noticed online that EACH 5x7 is $12.95. They have only been there 2 days, at this rate ordering all these photos at $12.95 will certainly BREAK THE BANK. Do anyone of the DISer's know if they can be bought in a large quantity and receive a DEAL....??? How about buying a CD and getting all of them for one flat rate???

Any advice would be AWESOME!!!! :yay:

I have read somewhere that you could take all the photo passes that you do and have them put on a CD in Epcot and some hotel (sorry I can't remember) for $99. :woohoo:

Yes -- you can buy all the photos from photopass on one CD for $99. You can do it once everyone's back home -- the photopass card itself has an ID number on it that you plug it at the disney photopass web site and you'll be good to go!

Is this correct? I thought I have been reading you have to purchase the $99 CD before you leave the park for the last time.

Kathy

No it's not correct as of last week anyway. They are working on it so you will be able to get the CD off the website. As of right now the only places to buy the CD are at the photo shop in Epcot and the gift shop in the Grand Floridian. You can also buy the CD at TT of just those photos. The price is $99 and you then have the right to reproduce those pictures as many times as you want. This is a much better deal than spending $12.95 a pop.

Yeah! What Webbie said.

The CD can only be purchased in the park. If they wait till they get home they will be out of luck and alot of money. The best thing about the CD is that you are actually purchasing the rights to use the pictures anyway you want. This means that you can print the pictures from any photo developer(Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Costco, etc). Much cheaper that way.

There are three places that I know to purchase the CD. Toontown Tent in MK, Epcot Photo Center and the Grand Floridian. I had read on a previous thread that you will be able to purchase the CD from any park. But, I don't know those locations yet.

OKAY EVERYONE MANY THANKS, now does my DS have to wait UNTIL the entire week is over and get the CD say in EPCOT. What I mean, is it better to go to EPCOT at the end of your vacation and give them the photopass and download all of the photos then??? Sorry I have many questions...ugh...

WHAT WAS "TT", someone was refering to???

My advice would be to check at the park and the end of everyday if there are specific pictures they know they will want to purchase. Last Nov. DH and I had dozens of photos taken! When we got home, the website only had SIX! None of the ones we really wanted were there. Big disappointment. Next trip we will order them as we go in the parks.

TT is Toontown - Which is the 3rd place that you can purchase the CD - the other 2 are the Grand Floridian and Epcot

They download whatever photos are currently on your photopass, so it is definitely best to wait until you are almost ready to leave before you purchase the CD (Which CAN ONLY be purchased while you are still at the Parks right now)

Here's another DIS thread on the topic:

Have fun - and definitely take advantage of the Photopass Photographers!

My apologies -- I thought I had really, really seen that option online when I used our Photopass/website from home!

THANKS THANKS EVERYONE. What a good deal!! DS and his DGF already have 30 pictures on the photopass and those they already know they WANT, so at $12.95 a pic, the CD is the BEST way to go....considering they still have 5 days left in WDW.

MANY THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP WITH THIS. When he calls tonight to fill us in on their fab day's activities I will tell him what all the DISer's have told me about the PHOTOPASS.

$99 for a lousy CD with your pics on them?

I'm sorry, but that is a complete ripoff, IMHO.

We used Photopass this last trip, and I was very disappointed with the way it worked. We understood it to be a system where we could download our pics. We almost never need printed pics, and almost always look at our digital photos via websites, the computer, or even our Tivo. If we want to print a pic, we just print that one and only that one. When I got home, I only saw the stupid "Order prints" options on the Photopass website. I never saw an option to order a CD of the pics. I still would not have done that. Once I pay a fair price, I think having to order a CD is pointless. I should be able to simply click the picture and download it. But $99 for a CD of my own pictures is outrageous pricing.

I loved not having to carry a camera around, but I paid for that luxury by not being able to download any of the pictures. We did take a few of our own, but none of them were very good. I was, needless to say, very disappointed in this.

Unless Disney changes Photopass to allow "a la carte" picture downloads, at a reasonable rate, I will be reverting to our trusty digital camera for future trips.

I disagree, I think its a super deal and will definitely be taking advantage of it next week! I wish we had known about the $99 CD in September! Our pictures were terrific and we didn't get any of them!

I agree with JADENLAYNE:

My DS already has 30 awesome pictures on the site. They were able to look at them on his PDA while in WDW and with 5 days left, he will get that PHOTOPASS loaded up and have all of them for $99.00. The pictures are $12.95 EACH, so it is such a good deal to get the CD loaded to the max and then select the ones you really want. :Pinkbounc

Or if you don't want to pay for th pictures just view them online, hit print screen on your computer keyboard then paste it in paint or adobe and crop out everything but the picture and that way they are free. Disney gets enough money out of me so i do't feel bad getting the pics for free.

when you just view them online not with the cd...can you save them to your hard drive?

you can't right click and save but you can save the whole screen and crop out everything but the picture. It's easy to do and it works, I have 52 disney pics that I got for free doing it that way.

I also think the photopass CD is a great value!!! You can add up to 300 pictures on the CD!!!! I will surely be using it next month & then purchase
the CD at the end of our trip. :cool1:
