Disney Parks Moms Panel 2015

Submitted my application a couple of hours ago. It feels SO good to have that done! I happened to take off today (months ago), so that made it easier to get my application in especially since I am gone the rest of the week. But I do get to eat at Trail's End Thursday night, so I can toast to Disney with my dreams of making the Panel.

Did you notice that R2 announcements are sooner this year? Last year, I found out officially on 10/18 (and earlier if you count the 'logging in' some of us were able to do.) So we have till late Sept or early Oct to hear if we advance. I will be like this till then.... :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

Good luck everyone!

Soooo, I filled out my application, hit "submit" and then I got the "sign in to your disney id" page. I did that again (had done it prior to starting the process) and then it took me back to the Main "Apply Now" page. Is that normal? I have this sinking feeling that I need to re-do all my questions!

Application submitted for DLR! Now the waiting begins.

Overall impression is that I really liked the questions they posed AND I loved that there was not as many as in years past.

Good luck everyone!

So I was just reading some of his tweets today.... and came to realize I had misinterpreted the question about days spent at WDW over the last year... I read it as "how many trips" not "how many days"... so am I pretty much done for?

Do you think that since we logged into MDE that they are looking at our specific trip history, reservations, fast passes, etc?

This is my first time applying and I didn't read up on it too much. I didn't want to overthink it!

I did the same thing. I didn't think it meant exact days. I've been on two different vacations but I've certainly been more than 2 days. Ugh. And I have had all sorts of issues. First, none of our Disney trips are linked to my personal MDE account because back when they introduced MDE, I got a message saying I had 3 different accounts and needed to delete all but one. I did that and ended up deleting the one linked to my AP. For whatever reason, my husband was still able to access that specific account, though, for adding me to reservations and such, so all of our reservations have been through him and none have been attached to my specific MDE account. Then, I was one of the ones with trouble with teh word count. IT would say that I had 6 words left, but then when I submitted, it would say that I was over by 8 or something. I kept having to delete things and retype and ended up having to redo it at least 3 times. I saw on twitter that others had that problem and it is now fixed, but that doesn't do me any good since I submitted it much earlier. I figure there is no way I am advancing. :sad1:

Pixie Dusted WISHES to all you 2015 hopefuls out there! Just remember to breathe and be yourselves. Let that Disney passion shine in the most natural way! Happy waiting.

Oh, I saw the tweets about the word count issue too! When I first tried to submit, I got an error. I was horrified that I had lost all my work!! but I hit the back button... and my answers were still there. I copied and pasted them into Word and then hit the submit button again... They went through that time! Relieved. Even if it's a long shot, it would still be such a cool opportunity!

Gary stressed it's now about getting as close to the word max as possible, rather it's about the quality of writing. Plus, I'm sure Disney has other ways of looking up our Parks/Resort activity outside of MDE. I wouldn't stress at all. :grouphug:

Yeah, about that. The first time I hit submit, I got taken to another page and all of my work was lost so I got to do the whole thing over. :rotfl2: Seriously, anything that could have gone wrong did for me this morning. I'm thinking that this is just not my year. No worries, though. I might not make the panel, but that doesn't mean I don't get to still help friends and family plan magical vacations, right? It just means I don't get a super cool pink jacket to wear while helping them plan.

What worries me, though, is that with all of the deleting I had to do for my answers to get accepted resulted in me leaving out things I wanted to include. Knowing that I wanted to include things and that they still met the word limit, but that there was a glitch is what is really bothering me. It's that, due to the glitch, I really feel that I wasn't able to fully present what I wanted, you know? But, as I said above, it is what it is and no point in stressing over what cannot be changed now. So I'm here to wish the best of luck to everyone else.:goodvibes

I did the same thing. It wasn't worded very well... Didn't it ask "How many visits?" or something along those lines? So I put 2, meaning 2 trips, instead of tallying up the park days.

Just submitted my application for Walt Disney World specialty using my FastPass. I wore my limited edition Olaf Magic Band for extra luck.

Instantly received my round 2 Congratulations screen & confirmation email.

Pixie dust wishes for the rest of my fellow DISers. Crossing my fingers for all of you in the "waiting room."

I will be chEARing for you!!!

I submitted mine today as well. I feel good about it. Last year, I felt like a hot mess after I was finished! No wonder I didn't advance to the next round!

I did not use all the words we were given on the Elsa question or the other fun question. I answered them in a way that I believe showed my personality, but I didn't pour over them like I did the other questions.

I submitted after I got an error message about the number of times in the parks question. I also misinterpreted it as number of visits, not days. SAD!

After getting the error message, I scanned my answers & was relieved to see them still there, but as soon as I hit submit, I mentally started panicking! What if they weren't exactly the way I wrote them?! What if they weren't ALL there?! But, I refuse to give in to that anxiety this year! It is what it is. I had a great time applying!

Lots of pixie dust to everyone! I'm excited to be waiting with you all!

Yes, it mans starting over. It has happened to a bunch of us. we took too long and it signed us out.

Oh my goodness! I just thought of looking this thread up this morning, wondering if the panel application was open yet...and YES it is!! I literally just submitted my application. I'm so glad I thought to look here, and check to the last page or I might've missed the deadline to apply!

Thanks for all the well wishes and encouraging posts. We're all so excited, yet those of us who have applied since the beginning and not made it have to keep our expectations subdued so we don't get heartbroken if we don't make it one more year. But, I have to admit, the excitement bubbles up and I have to let out a squeal. :) Good luck everyone!!

I just submitted my application  I have applied every year except the first. I have never made it to Round 3 but have made it to Round 2 several times. Here is hoping I finally get to see Round 3 :goodvibes

:tinker: Good luck to all!!!!

How did I just find this thread today? I knew there had to be one, so I was determined to find it. I submitted my application earlier this afternoon. After making it to R2 the past two years applying for DCL specialty, I returned to my first love, WDW. I made it to R2 the very first year of the panel, so I hope that I can finally break through to the end this year!

This group, along with the facebook groups, help pass the time in the waiting room! I love the friendships created during this process over the years and wish everyone the best of luck for 2015!
:thumbsup2

I just submitted my application for DVC!! I used my fastpass and also instantly received my round 2 Congratulations screen. I also received the confirmation email, but...

My email said "Applicants who are selected for the next round in the application process will be contacted via email by a representative from Walt Disney World® Resort."

No mention of the fastpass!?! What did your confirmation email say? Did it mention you went straight to Round 2?

:confused3

I took it to mean how many trips not how many days. Sure hope that I am correct since I put in just 1-2 trips and not the 15 days that we were there.

The DLR questioned posed it in terms of "visits" not days. I answered based on separate trips to DLR in the last year not on total days spent. Hoping for the best!
