We are planning on hitting Hollywood Studios after disembarkation.
We will have our own vehicles, and will be staying on property for that evening as well. Would it be easier / quicker to take transportation from the resort or just drive to the park?

We will be eating breakfast on the boat before leaving so we will already be missing a part of the morning in the park and want to limit any further loss of time.

thanks in advance

It would be quicker to drive straight to the park. Depending on which hotel you are staying at the Disney transportation could take a while. If you don't mind leaving your luggage in the trunk I say that's the best way to maximize your time in the park

Yes, much faster to drive your own car straight to HS from the port than rely on Disney buses.

You say that you have your own transportation, so you are not asking if you should take Disney transportation from the port, you are asking if should drive directly to Disney Studios or drive to your hotel, park and then take the Disney transportation? Obviously it will be faster to drive directly to the park instead of adding the intermediate transportation between the hotel and the park. I would assume, however, that since you won't have checked in to the hotel that you will have to pay for parking at the park.

You don't say which resort you're staying at, so for most of the resorts driving directly to the park would be the best option. If you're staying at the BW, YC, BC, Swan or Dolphin, then I would recommend driving directly to your resort and then walking over to the studios.

For us it was a matter of what to do with our luggage we could’ve kept them in the car but it was beginning of September and It would’ve simply have been too hot for the items within the suitcases. We went ahead and checked in at around 10:30-11 at ASMo and our room just happened to have been ready anyways. But if not we would’ve left our suitcases with Bell services in the air-conditioning. We left the ship around 9 AM.

Also as a sidenote we were simply exhausted. We had stayed up late the night before around midnight as it was our last night on the ship and so we had things to take care of , pack and look around. And then we had to get up early which for us was about 6:30-7:00 to have the room cleared by 8 AM. To be honest Disembarkation day was such a stressful time for us. But if part our fault as we had so much stuff in our room to pack up fish extender gifts etc. once we got to our resort we decided decided to stay at the resort and swim / relax. We left for Magic Kingdom around 2- 3 PM. Rushing straight from the port to a park that early and then spending a whole day would’ve just done us in. but to each their own.
To answer your question driving straight from the port to the park would be the quickest and give you the most park time.

For what’s its worth, when we’ve gone to the parks after debarkation and using Disney transportation, we’ve always been at the gate between 10:30 and 11:00. That’s taking the shuttle to the hotel, checking in and checking our luggage with the front desk and then taking bus to parks.
