disney on ice question

Is it worth it to take a 3 year old and a 2 year old?? we would have box seats so they could move around and wouldnt be forced to sit still in a seat. Any advice?

We took the kids on Saturday (to see a Disneyland Adventure).

They had a blast!!! There were lots and lots of toddlers there, so I think you'll be fine.

There are one or two times when they turn the house lights out, but the Colliseum was still well enough lit that none of the kids seemed frightened. And if finances allow, you can always invest in one of the lighted souvineirs.

My very active 2 year old has been going to Disney on Ice shows since 9 months old. He has always been mesmerized and we have never had a problem. He has seen 4 shows now I believe.

A word of caution:

If you think your kids might be put off by the characters (my kids all have a fear of characters in costume, don't ask me why!!!): Consider getting seats a bit back, or in front of the 2nd level.

We were in the "200" section, so we were up one level, right behind where the hockey goalpost would be. Any closer, and my kids would have been nervous whenever a skater came our way.

It was as though they put on the show just for us!

We've been taking our girls since they were 3 and 2, respectively. Now they're 5 1/2 and soon to be 4. The only issues we had were my oldest didn't like costumed characters but she was fine since we were up on the
2nd floor. The Nemo one last year had a scary scene with a huge shark - other than that, they've both been good about sitting through the whole thing. The intermission is usually 2/3 of the way through the show so the second half goes a lot faster.

Another hint - at the last 3 shows we've been to, after the show, they sell grab bags of souvenirs from previous years shows for only $10.00. Lots of times they include a glow twirly light, coloring book and sometimes a t-shirt. Just keep this in mind - we usually buy this instead of spending tons of money for the souvenirs at the show.

We recently took our three daugthers (5, 3, and 15 months). They all LOVED the show. The baby was ecstatic every time Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald came out on the ice. The two older girls followed all of the different stories and really enjoyed the songs and costumes.

I was thrilled that they did so well. I'm hoping that this is a good indicator of how well they will do at the shows at WDW in March.

I think this show is supposed to be based on pixie hollow??? My kids don't really follow those movies, but I think my dd will after the show! I am excited to go.... I know my dd will be good, its my really "Active" son I am concerned about.....

I have a question of my own, so I'll stray a bit from the OP topic, because you all seem you know what you're talking about!

I am trying to decide between the 100 Years of Magic show and the Worlds of Fantasy show. I've been to the site, through the promo videos and information, but am still unsure. I know that they're newer, but am hoping that someone might be able to provide some insight!

Any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated, as I (unfortunately) can't do both!

Are both playing near you?

I didn't see the 100 years of Magic show, but here's the rundown on Disneyland Adventure:

The Incredibles are taking a Disneyland vacation, hoping desperately to pass as an "ordainary" family while there. Unfortunately, the bad guy from The Incredibles (I want to say "Synergy" but I think it's wrong. forgive me; it's 5:37 am) has created a robot. (Remember,the original died at the end of the movie.) He kidnaps Mickey and Minnie and want to change Disneyland into the Unhappiest place on earth.

The Incredibles, with some help from Frozone and their Costume lady, suit up and search Disneyland for their foe. In doing so, they go through some rides-- Pirates of the Carribean, Small World, Teacups, Haunted Mansion and probably one or two more. At the end, of course, good triumphs over evil.

My kids enjoyed it, having been to Disneyworld last summer and being familiar with the rides.

But if your young kids would panic at the sight of Mickey and Minnie behind bars, perhaps the other show is a better alternative??

We just saw Disneyland Adventure - DS 14 mos and DD 2 - they were mesmorized!!!!! We were in the first row and Donald shook DS's hand. He was ecstatic. They didn't want it to end!

When Minnie and Mickey were behind bars, DD was concerned but I said to her - who always wins? She said Mickey and started to yell "Go Mickey Go Pirates" (She loves pirates!)

I took tehm to Nemo last year - ages 15 mos (DD) and DS was 3 mos. They loved that as well!

I would definately say - take the kids!

With free tickets, it wouldn't even be a question. I would definitely go. We just went last weekend to Disney on Ice and it was great. The only part that the five of us didn't like? The people who sat near us who kept getting up and buying hotdogs. Those hotdogs smelled SO bad.

ok we are going and I was thinking before that it was a fairys show...but it is 100 years of magic show I was confused....... I am SO excited.... I have another question tho.... do any of the characters greet kids in the lobby? should I bring autograph books??? Should I let my DD wear her jasmin outfit? (over a white turtleneck of course)
