Anyone ever read/use the "Disney on a Dime" book that allearsnet.com newsletter is advertising this week? They say they can guarantee you'll save at least $200.

Eagerly awaiting replies to see if this will be useful for an upcoming trip.

TIA!

I got my last week and read it straight through. It has a lot of ideas, most I already knew. But I thought is was great to have them all listed in one book. I'm getting older and tend to forget alot of the best savers, this book keeps them in one place.

It's broken out in chapers like parks, lodging offsite, lodging onsite, sample menus and shopping lists.

For those who really are on a tight budget, this books lays out a precise roadmap to still make WDW possible. I only wish I could follow it more and use my credit cards less :rotfl2:

here is a few that I really enjoyed. If you like tips, you should really consider buying the book. It was less than $10 I think.

The Extra Bun Trick
Buy a double cheeseburger and request an extra bun. The extra bun will cost about $.70, but you can take one hamburger patty off and have a second burger for only $.70

Don't buy the hats/props in the store. Just try them on and have someone in your party take your picture with them. Then kindly, neatly return them to the shelf and you have a "cheap" souvenier. I'm the rules freak, I would have never thought about trying it on and taking a picture without buying it. But how many times do you really wear that goofy hat once you get home.

the book has been a great refresher and sparker of new tips for my trips. I can't wait till December to try some of them out.

If you try to do Disney more than you should like me, every dime makes it easier and "Disney on a Dime" is a great book for me.

Past reviews have indicated that following posts on these boards etc. will save you just as much as "Disney on a Dime"

I am not at all convinced it is worth paying for.

I know it's a great $$$ saving tip but I just cringe at the thought of this. Think of all the people who have probably tried on the hat before you. If just one of them had lice.....well, EWWWW! (Sorry, didn't mean to thread high-jack, but I just had to throw out a word of caution.)

I know there are thousands of tips on this board and I thoroughly enjoy reading them. But for me, repetitioin is a good thing. I tried keeping a list of the tips that I liked and then I lost it and started again and lost it. So having them wrote down was a big thing and being able to take them with me when I don't have a computer.

I know you can find tips to save money in a thousand and one places. To me, this was a handy way to get some good ones and keep them with me. Unto each their own.

Good luck and magical savings your ways..

I'm with you. It seems that about 95% of the good ideas in these books are available online for free. How can they guarantee that you'll save X amount? I am perfectly aware that I could lower my hotel bill by staying off-site -- I think everyone knows that Howard Johnson's is less expensive than the Wilderness Lodge. Cheaper or not, I still don't want to stay there.
