Yes, it takes place in a timeline where it’ll be primarily back story, but they didn’t spend 150-200M for a film without connective tissue for the future. While Disney thinks money first, Kevin Feige is all about story integrity and he’s not going to make a movie set 3-4 years in the past (8-9 in the Endgame timeline) just to pander and give Scarlett Johansson a farewell. Falcon and the Winter Soldier for example could have absolutely been finished in time to release before WandaVision as it was planned to be, but I along with a lot of people believe Black Widow and FatWS are going to connect.

oh for sure, and why I will definitely watch it at some point ... like I said, I think all this is showing my just how few things I am will to pay extra/go to extra lengths to watch earl

I think they see this as potential to really appeal to girls/women (young and older) and with the holidays coming for toys and just for wearing merch in the parks and around, I am not too surprised

Be interesting to see how well it sells as I know some people are really into her but not sure how broad the appeal is
The jacket looks super cheap and way busy, i doubt that will sell at all, I'm not a dress person so that doesn't appeal to me at all, I'm not well versed in marvel so only know her from the MCU, don't even know who the taskmaster is and there's a shirt and an action figure being sold. Hopefully the big fans come through and buy some stuff

Taksmaster is a villain with "photographic reflexes" which allow him to mimic any movement he sees including the fighting moves of someone like Captain America. Besides that, he's got some style - I mean, how cool is this guy?

If it works, great for them. But if they go full on streaming, budgets are going to be cut in half, at least, for movies. A lot of these MCU movies need the Budget they’ve been allotted. If you think Mandalorian episodes are short, the MCU movies will be cut to an hour and a half and leave plot holes galore
I think at their $30 rate for early access the movies could still make big money. With about 74million subscribers now, they would just need about 1/5 of those to purchase it to make $500 million, all of which goes directly to the studio and they don't have to share with anyone like normal theatrical releases and likely less marketing needed so lower cost there.

I feel like you and I have a different definition of what "cool" is

Oh, come on now, he's got a Cap shield, Hawkeye's arrows, Swordmaster's sword - because he learned to use them all just by watching. His MCU appearance won't be quite so gaudy, but I've always loved the classic look personally.

well, that image looks a bit better

The other one looked like a guy in a skull mask with his tighty whities worn over his pants

And..?

That's a classic comic book look - the skull mask and hood combo was so cool, as were the swashbuckler boots. He appeared shortly before Deathstroke at DC and they had similar looks.

That’s assuming 1/5 of those subscribers all buy it. Have to take into account that people will have watch party’s and/or give friends/family members their account info to watch the movie. There will also be pirated versions on the internet the first day of its release. While in theory getting 20% of their subscriber base to all buy the movie seems like an easy task (pun not intended), it’s not that simple, unfortunately.

Could they do it? Yeah, absolutely, and they could get even more than the 20% of subscribers to buy it. But it’s far from a sure thing, imo. Mulan, a movie that would have probably grossed close to 1B at the box office struggled (rumored) to even reach 100M dollars through the Disney PVOD release. There will certainly be more interest in black widow, but I wouldn’t discount the demand to see Mulan

This doesn't mention Mulan becoming available to all Disney+ users on Dec 4th as was rumoured. Do we know if this is still going to happen?

We've been waiting for this to be release for SO long and if it's not going to be in December I'm going to go out and purchase a DVD copy for about half what Disney+ is charging so that we can finally watch it.

I think that was always a hopeful rumor, tbh. With the physical release last week, it’ll probably be about 3 months until we see it on Disney+.

disney said it will come out for free on Disney plus on December 4th. Could they go back on their word yes they could but don’t see them doing it.

That's the challenge. I don't ever remember Disney saying it was coming out on Dec 4th. There was a place on the UK Disney+ website that briefly said it was coming out Dec 4th but that was the only time I heard that or saw it published and I don't think it was up there for long.

Does anyone else remember or have confirmation that Disney said it was coming out Dec 4th?
