The thing about Rebels that intrigues me the most is the inclusion of Thrawn. But I still haven’t started the series. I absolutely love the old EU novels (currently rereading the entire series during COVID, on the Darth Caedus series now). And Thrawn has always been one of my favorites. I just hope Rebels does him justice.
I haven’t read the books but I think Thrawn is well done in Rebels I think.

Regardless of the theater situation, I don’t see these studios backing down on the possibility of making money at the theaters. Their movies are a huge profit gainer for them, so they’re going to keep spending money on them. And whatever they’ve spent on Mandalorian has probably been made up tenfold in The Child merchandise sales. I don’t think budget restraints will impact S3 or the other D+ shows. I think they’re confident that eventually they’ll be getting box office profits on top of subscriber money on D+. If Disney was worried about money, they’d be cutting back on shows, not adding them. I mean, does the MCU really NEED MoonKnight? Probably not. So if they’re continuing on with shows like that, you know they’re not hurting as much as they let on

They asked Rob Meyer Burnett out of all the marvel series coming to Disney plus which one was he looking forward to the most. He said Moonknight That was pretty far down on my list until he explained why he had that one number one. Should be a great series.

Moon knight means a lot to me as well, but it’s just not a mainstream character that people actually know of. That’s what I meant when I said that it’s not a show that’s probably necessary for the MCU and if they were budget conscious they would likely have axed it, but they actually probably increased the budget by casting Oscar Issac.

He’s basically Batman with an identity disorder. I was wondering if they were going to cast 3 actors to play Marc Spector (Moon Knight) but if it’s just Issac, they’re probably going to go the route of James McAvoy in Split.

Have you read the newer Thrawn novels? Alliances is pretty interesting

Not yet. I really gave up when the EU was retconned into Legends and basically erased. Other than the new trilogy and now Mando, I really hadn’t followed any of the new storylines. I was just too invested in the older storylines and couldn’t bring myself to start over. But now I’m getting that itch. And I know those newer Thrawn novels are still Timothy Zahn, so they should be excellent.

I saw a thing on Youtube where someone talked to Zahn about what he thought of the treatment of Thrawn in Rebels and he was happy with it.

Murphy's Multiverse may have shed some light on that, though, as they've uncovered information about Grant's stunt double, Dave Culter.

He's reportedly listed as playing "Classic Loki" on his IMDB page, and that definitely lends some weight to the theory the God of Mischief will encounter alternate universe versions of himself in the show. Sophia Di Martino is believed to be playing the female Loki, while we've known for a while that the Time Variance Authority will be involved after the villain's escape in Avengers: Endgame.

Anyone else watching the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special? I saw it released this evening (I thought it wasn’t coming out for another day or so). We’re watching it now.

I'm going to wait till closer to Christmas. Just seems too early to watch it now.

We watched the Lego Star Wars holiday show a bit ago and enjoyed it. Obviously a bit silly at times but overall quite fun
Yeah it was worth a watch. The voice acting was jarring at the beginning but you get over it quite quick, except for Rey, her voice actor was just really off.

I just watched the new Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse on Disney+ and they were brilliant! I loved the "House of Tomorrow" one especially because of all the references. I am glad they have brought these back! :earsboy:

🚨Grain of Salt🚨

A couple people have been speculating that during the investors day call on Dec 10th that Disney will announce that Black Widow will be releasing on Disney+
Wouldn’t shock me. I have a feeling Disney will be going heavy on streaming and a Marvel movie will be a good test of the premier system. I would pay for Black Widow, when I wouldn’t pay for Mulan.

If it works, great for them. But if they go full on streaming, budgets are going to be cut in half, at least, for movies. A lot of these MCU movies need the Budget they’ve been allotted. If you think Mandalorian episodes are short, the MCU movies will be cut to an hour and a half and leave plot holes galore

Well, WW84 will be day and date streaming. Black widow getting released on D+ seems a lot more likely now

I did watch the trailer for the Lego SW Holiday Special and its great
Love them playing in snow making snow angels.
Watch trailer if you are waiting for the holidays...

If that happens I wouldn’t be shocked to see another premium try. That would be leaving a lot of money on the table if they did Black Widow for “free.”
