Back when we had MaxPass here, it was $125 to add it to our APs. So I'm not surprised by the $99 add-on for Photopass at WDW now.

Before WDW added PP to Gold and above passes, we had to add PP on to each trip at approximately $149.00 per trip. So $99 annually for one family member, is doable for our group

So it AP holders will continue to receive free theme park parking and dining and merchandise discount...I don’t see anything about resort room only discounts...

Those are limited time promotions. There is no set discount for AP room only. That’s the way it has always been, or at least the last ten years I’ve been going.

It mentions room discounts on the AP page of the WDW site. As mentioned though they aren't ongoing but offered "from time to time".

Why are out of state folks only allowed the most expensive pass? You’d think they spend more money in the parks than Florida residents.

Didn't out-of-State AP holders always have to buy the Platinum Pass- at the top tier (except Platinum Plus)? Gold, Silver, etc. have always been DVC and/or Florida resident I thought?

Yes. I don't think you'll have much choice, unless you qualify for one of the Florida resident or DVC APs.

I'm not sure if this has been shared, but if you have a current AP that is expiring in the next 60 days you are eligible to renew now, and until Sept 7 you can still renew the old pass types at the old prices. Today was my 60 day from expiring and I just squeezed one more year of dvc gold passes in at the old renewal rates.

Thank you for this! Last time we upgraded back in 2018 we had to do it in person too. Not a big deal for us as we are staying at BLT and can walk to MK guest services.
