Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

So many plans and they claim it's all in the works...I can't be the only one thinking some of these plans won't be done for many years to come. I just want to see them getting to work ASAP
Agreed and I am also wondering how much or what will be budget cut out of these projects. Every major project in the last few years has had some sort of budget cut to it. Galaxy's Edge being one of the worst casualties.

I’m not even a huge villains fan or necessarily wanted that land but I can’t remember the last time an announcement got me this excited. I’m not really into Star Wars and likely wont ever forgive them for taking Osborne lights away whilst land or ride re-themes or new attractions are great but this hits different. I guess I’m saying it could have been anything really but for me it feels like proper investment into something new.

I am happy. We kinda got spoiled from 2016-2020 with Avatar, TSL and Galaxys Edge plus Frozen EA, MMRR, Ratatouille.

Then from 2022-2024 it slowed down a bit Cosmic Rewind, Tron and Tiana overlay and had nothing else moving forward.

I think 2026-2030 are going to be like 2016-2020

sorry I might have missed it. Where will Villians Land be?
Living rent free in my head! Beyond big thunder and also hooking round to haunted mansion if possible I guess, although that’s complicated by the main ride building being hidden which has to be maintained imho (guardians is awesome but a big blight on the skyline).

Really solid IMO. Big plans for AK, HS, and MK, couple of surprises in California. Obviously need to know where some of this stuff is going.

Mickey Views thinks Monsters is taking over Muppet Courtyard AND Star Tours, Alicia Stella is guessing RnRC, I think her thinking is just that it makes more sense given that it’s another coaster and RnRC is getting old and has had major issues. Aerosmith just retired. Makes sense. We’ll see!

Yes, a lot of things will take years to build but we knew that, otherwise they would have been announced at previous events. I think it's all very exciting. Really looking forward to the nighttime parade at MK, too.

ETA: not sure how it was online or if you could even see the show or were just reading updates about announcements, but the excitement was very palpable at the Honda Center. Walking out after it ended, people couldn't stop talking about what they were most excited about. The musical performances were also great

We get to WDW on 31st July next year, the race for the nightime parade is on (surely it’ll be by then, they’ll want it open before Halloween season surely)

I'm excited for the announcements. Though Cars belongs replacing Speedway. I don't know how they are going to make Card fit in Frontierland if it isn't Radiator Springs unless it's becoming a separate land NEXT to Frontierland.

And Villains Land. YES please!

They have announced so much for so many parks!
I have created a new thread for the updates regarding Disneyland Paris. Now that we know more, it's time for it's own thread.

Very happy that Lion King is the one replacing the original idea of also having Star Wars land in Paris. By the looks of it, we will get a copy of Splash Mountain/ Tiana's Bayou adventure.

A bit miffed that we have to wait another year for World of Frozen to open, but it is what it is. And I secretly hoped we would get a new parade as well, but two new evening shows is nice to :D
