It looks like the Orange Bird band and the Pink Mickey Ice Cream band are gone already.
I'm not certain they were ever available in the shop. I got in just 4 minutes after the queue began and didn't notice either one of those. Maybe they were there? I don't remember seeing them.

MagicBand+ Battery Dying Quickly During Use at Walt Disney World

Guests are having some issues with their MagicBand+ battery after the new bands launched at Walt Disney World today. As we already reported, the bands don’t necessarily come fully charged, which can lead to problems when trying to update them. They need to be 60% charged to update.

As we have used our MagicBand+ for the past few hours, we’ve found that the batteries do charge quickly, but they also drain quickly. For example, our MagicBand+ died after playing Batuu Bounty Hunters for two and a half hours.

If the MagicBand+ dies, it does still function as a regular MagicBand. This means you would still be able to use it to enter a park or your hotel room, and for Lightning Lane and DAS access. You would not be able to use it to play Batuu Bounty Hunters or Disney Fab 50 Quest and it would not light up with nighttime spectaculars.

Is this because they bought and used them immediately, or is this after a full charge? It is typical that rechargeable batteries are not at 100% out of the box, so if you picked one up for immediate use this morning, that would make sense. If this is form a full charge, that may be a big problem. I guess you can always hook them up to a portable charging brick!

We got both of those with our Disney Experience order at 9am (for our Disney reservation in a few months).

I can't imagine anyone had a full charge this morning, unless they already had the band. We'll probably see usage jump in the coming days as people have had time to get the 100% charge.

This is great news.

The MagicBand+ operates as a MagicBand 2 when the battery dies. You just get the extra features by charging it.

So if you forget to charge it, no problem. You'll just miss the lights and interactivity. You can still get into the parks, hotel room and rides.

Oh yeah they were definitely avail for pre-order this morning, but I don't think they were available on shopDisney. I guess my point is the selection on shopDisney is a bit lack luster. If you can hold out for purchasing in the parks, or you will have an upcoming trip where you can pre-order, your choices will likely be greater overall.

FYI- I was on shopDisney seconds before the queue started and there was only 17 Magicband+ available.

Yeah, I swore my trip this past Spring was going to be my last until at least next year as I don't plan on renewing my AP, but I've been mulling trying to sneak in one more trip before it expires, LOL! The struggle is real!

Exactly! And what starts out as “well, we will just make it a quick trip!” spirals in to “a few more days will make the vacation more relaxed” and then that turns in to “we had so much fun at Universal too so we might as well stop there again for a couple days!”

So yeah, what started as a quick, inexpensive (as inexpensive as you can be with with WDW and Universal, I mean) trip has now turned in to a two week full blown vacation lol

I think that I might have another IT issue when trying to buy MagicBand+'s on MDE. I get through to the checkout page and then I have an endless circle of death in the "Payment Method" spot.

Anyone else getting this? Any solution?

No, he was one of those who purchased the Magic Band+ back when they were mistakenly put out for sale for a few hours. He claims his was fully charged this morning.

I did.

At first it said it couldnt retrieve my payment method. Many page reloads changed nothing.
I went on another computer and verified it was all still up correctly.
Started over. Got the never ending circle.
Kept reloading page. Eventually (maybe 10 more minutes?) it worked.

Keep at it. Good luck.

Yep. Same here. Finally worked after refreshing about 100 times. Thanks!
