Spider-Man Stuntronic Crashes Into Building After Malfunctioning at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure

A video circulating on social media appears to show the Spider-Man Stuntronic crashing into a building at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure after a malfunction today. Video of the incident was captured by mdglee_szm and posted to Instagram.

The Stuntronic, which is a robot and not a human, appears to not release properly from the pulley device that typically sends it soaring into the sky. The Stuntronic then slams into a building and crashes backstage.

I don’t really follow business relations much but why was this statement made? Was it part of some larger statement or did they just randomly decide to release statement saying he has their support? I almost feel like if they have to release a statement to say they support him there has to be some concern amongst people who matter more then just fans complaining.

Pretty typical move for a CEO who knows their position is in jeopardy. Surround yourself with 'yes men', get rid of any perceived threats, and then have your supporters make a statement of how great you are. I think these recent moves just show how vulnerable he is, and make not make it through 2023.

I hope most of you realize a lot of these changes at the parks were in plans when Iger was around. They just happen to be implemented on Chapels watch.

But in the court of public opinion and many shareholders, a lot of people are unhappy. Chapek will have to be the sacrificial lamb as it's happening on his watch. Then again, the board may want him to hang around for a while and take the hits while additional plans are implemented ... which could be the reasoning for board's statement. He's already a great 'heel' for the masses, so they might as well keep him around for more restructuring.

Disney World Strikes Out in First-Ever MICHELIN Guide for Florida

When you wish upon a star… The first-ever MICHELIN Guide for Florida was revealed tonight and Disney World struck out despite having some wonderful dining experiences.

Restaurants like Jiko, Flying Fish, and (especially) Victoria & Albert’s offer upscale dining experiences at Walt Disney World, but with Victoria & Albert’s still shuttered, Disney saw perhaps their best shot at getting a MICHELIN star disappear tonight as the winners were announced moments ago.

That said, guests staying at Walt Disney World can still find a MICHELIN-star meal by heading over to the Four Seasons Resort. Capa earned a single star with judges saying that the restaurant “flaunts a decidedly Spanish accent. Kick things off with ace tapas before indulging in a main dish, like flame-kissed ribeye with tamarind-ancho sauce.”

Walt Disney World and Brand USA Team Up to Draw More Tourists to Central Florida

Walt Disney World has teamed up with Brand USA to work on drawing more tourists to America and specifically Central Florida, Orlando Business Journal reports.

The companies will work together on a new marketing campaign targeting these twelve regions:
  • United Kingdom
  • Canada
  • Latin America
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Spain
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greater China
  • Southeast Asia
  • Japan
  • South Korea
“With support from Disney,” Brand USA told OBJ, “Brand USA and their creative partners at Beautiful Destinations, filmed and developed a full suite of video content and photos which will be used in both owned and paid digital channels as part of the campaign.

Don't think I saw this news posted ...

Marvel Working On A Thunderbolts MCU Film

If you've been keeping up with the MCU and the Contessa Valentina Allegra (Val) appearances, this would probably be no surprise as they've been dropping hints for a Dark Avengers or Thunderbolts project. US Agent and Yelena Belova are most likely going to be on the team, but there are plenty of other possibilities out there are well. I just wonder if this would be better for D+ than a full on feature film

What bothers me is that if it has U.S. Agent and Yelena, it wouldn't be Thunderbolts. Marvel likes to slap that name on any team of villains/anti-heroes, but only the origianal team and concept has ever been any good.

Yeah, it sounds like with the success of Gunn's Suicide Squad and Peacemaker that Marvel just wants their own version. I figured they would do more of a spin on the Dark Avengers instead of using the Thunderbolts name. With William Hurt's passing, they may not recast the role and name any government sponsored team in honor of 'Thunderbolt' Ross.

I see the MCU running into a similar issue with whatever Young Avengers / Defenders (Champions 'see EDIT') project they're building towards. They've obviously got plans, but who are they going to throw on which teams? You've got obvious characters like Ms. Marvel, America Chavez, Hawkeye and Cassie Lang (I assume from the upcoming Ant-Man), and but then all these other like Yelena, Echo etc could end up anywhere ... not surprisingly I think they're introducing may too many characters.

I always sort of figured the Dark Avengers would be the antagonists for the Young Avengers / Champions project, but who knows? I'd also like to see any Young/New Avengers be more of an extended D+ series format than a movie

EDIT: I confused the Defenders with the Champions ... which just goes to show how confusing these 'team-up' projects are going to get

The young Avengers has an established roster though. That's one thing that I hate about comics - they think of a team as a concept, not as a group of characters. They reuse the names to keep the trademarks up, but it hardly ever works that a radically altyered team composition under a previous name is actually good. They need to think about the characters and what they mean instead of treating the teams like puzzle peices to fill certain gaps.
