Disney needs to have a dining plan for day visitors

I can and do spend 30 dollars or more when i visit the parks and have a qs lunch and dinner, including a beverage and a snack or two in the afternoon and evening..very easily done..

As an annual passholder, don't you get a discount for food and merchandise? So, it seems to me you're getting something for being a local day visitor.

So many people can cheat this system i could run to every place and feed my whole family...

That would be ridiculously time consuming, and the all day plan is offered at Sea World, Busch Gardens, Universal, and IOA and I've never heard of this being such a problem.

I think its a good idea.

Sea World has no hotels associated with it. Universal has three (maybe four). Disney has at least 18 or so places that you can reserve to sleep. The other two have to keep you in their parks somehow, so they offer you cheap food and drink. Disney offers you the dining plan if you stay in their resorts. Everyone else will want to eat something in the park. And there is no reason to keep giving you free beverages other than at the water parks where people will get lots to drink using the refillable mug and you have to pay for the sticker each day you want to use their refillable mug at the water parks so it's not really all that free.

Sea World and Universal do this because they are in the position of "minority opposition". They need creative ways to attract guests to their parks. (Though, to be fair, Universal may not need so much help now that Potterland is open---they had double digit increases in both attendance and guest per-capita spending in a year that Disney's attendance and per-caps were flat.)

Disney is the lead dog. They don't need to discount to get people to come. What's more, the dining plans, for most families, are a modest upsell, not a discount. And, that's true even with Universal and Sea World's deals.

I think it's an interesting concept. We usually get the dining plan for a day at Sea World or Universal. For Disney, we eat a big breakfast before hitting rope drop, pack about a dozen sandwiches and some fruit for our group, usually eat table service and have a Mickey bar around the 4 p.m. timeframe and after an evening show or fireworks do the drive though Wendy's dollar menu supplemented by salad and fruit at our condo. // With a good dining plan, we would probably try it and Disney would probably make some more money on us.

Disney needs to have a dining plan type thing for day visitors like Sea World has. Pay one price and get a wrist band and you can eat all day long. and offer it so there is a discount built in. As it is a burger , fries and soda costs 12.00 anymore. They could offer two counter service meals and three snacks(popcorn, soda, cookie, etc) for one price. Sea worlds plan costs 30.00.

Can't see why they need to.
