has anyone named their child a "disney"fied name?

we have some friends who chose Sidney b/c it spells Disney if rearranged.

I didn't..but I have 2 boys. The girl names seem to be more popular. Aurora, Jasmine, and Ariel are so over used. Im sure Tiana will soon be added to those.

I wish more people used Belle. Such a pretty name but I dont know a single person with that name.

Well my youngest is named Daisy- but I will say it's not because of Disney. It was my great-grandmother's name and I was very close to her growing up.

But I fully admit to buying tons of Daisy Duck stuff for her :)

I know one person whose name is Esmeralda (she's older than the movie so not because of that) and her daughter is Jasmine which always makes me smile that they are both Disney princesses.

The original Hunchback was made (I believe) in the 1930's....a silent version. She that old? Lol.....sorry....I know what you meant....I just couldnt resist.:rotfl:

My nephew;s wife's sister :rolleyes1 that's a mouth full named her DD's after princesses.princess: She has Aurora and Fiona (Shrek) and she has another on the way.:cutie:

My niece's name is Tiana, totally unrelated to the new princess though. People were teasing us about naming the baby Walt, but my DH actually considered Elias, the less obvious "after Walt" name...maybe if there's a #2...

My son's name has nothing to do with Disney, but if he had been a girl, he would have been named Annabelle, after Belle- plain Belle just didn't seem to fit with our last name!
ooh, wait I forgot, my son's middle name is Sebastian- not named after the crab, but a happy coincidence now that I think about it! :goodvibes

I really wanted to name DD Jasmine but DH didn't really like it.

A friend of mines DD is named after Ariel, one of her DS suggested it and they liked it.

We seriously thought about naming DD Aurora but our fav TV show won out by a hair, so Lorelai it was.

I'm SO pushing my DH to let me name our daughter Lorelai (if the next one is a girl). I LOVE the Gilmore Girls :)

No Disney names for us though

My DD7 is named Isabella, but we've always called her Belle. Belle didn't go with our last name at all. And she has a ton of Beauty and the Beast stuff that we've gathered along the way.

Of course, her other nickname is Pooh or Poop, but only because her first trip to WDW at 18mos, she kept calling Pooh "Poop Bear". So, we started calling her that.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Our second DD doesn't have anything close to a Disney name, but we've started calling her Boo Boo Chicken, so it's a little Disney.

(Donald's pet chicken on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)

I really wanted to do a disney related name for one of my kids... (Mickey)... but DH wouldn't let me.... But we did name our dog... DAISY.... ( RIP 6/13/09 :sad1: )

We are expecting a baby girl and my DD (4) wants to name her Ellie after she saw the move up. We actually like it and are considering it.

Too Funny. We have an Aurora but we call her Rory (that was always going to be the case) I couldn't get passed the meaning of Loralie (DH is a sailor and it felt wrong) as beautiful as the name is!
Great minds must think alike!

No kidlets named Disney names but our cats all are Bagheera, Ferdinand (the Bull) & Figaro. All black like hte charaters they were named after Figgie is the only one with even a bit of white so they all fit.

I know an 11 year old Tiana. And I know a few Isabellas that go by Bella- it's close.

Um, me. :rolleyes1

Gosh, I seldom think about this, but let me tell you, even as a hardcore lover of all things Disney, it is embarassing.

My mother was a very big fan of Fantastia. She loved it. So much so, she wanted to name *me* Fantasia. At some point, the name was vetoed because of the realization that the nickname for Fantasia would be 'Fanny'. :cool2: Classy. So the next closest name was Anastasia - still Disney (Cindy's sis), but a bit more obscure and a lot more, well, refined? My nickname is Stacy and I am still graeful the F-word got ditched.

Just something to think about before you put it in ink. :thumbsup2

I know two sisters named Ariel and Jazmyn...the mom just had a baby, and I think it was a Disney-ish name, too, but I can't recall at the moment. They also have a brother, but I can't recall his name, either. My cousin's name is Elias (but after a relative), and my niece's nickname is Belle.

When I was pregnant with my 2nd DD. Older DD said to name baby Ariel, because older DD was Cinderella and she would let baby be Ariel. I said no. Then a few months before DD birth my grandfather- who was like my father- passed away. His name was Uriel, so I decided to go with Ariel to name her afterhim. U to A. Hadn't even realized the connection until the hospice nurse mentioned it to me the night of his passing. I thought it was such a cool coincidence, since older DD was already telling every one baby would be Ariel but of course for her own reasons. By the way it is her middle name cuz DH wanted her to have her own first name.

On another side note, after seeing CORALINE, we decided that if we ever have another DD we will name her Coraline.

My oldest is named Ariel. After Disney's Ariel. My baby sister was 7 when Ariel was born and from the time she was 3 she LOVED the Little Mermaid. My Ex adored my baby sister. Therefore to somewhat connect my daughter to my baby sister Ariel was named.

I wanted to name my 2nd daughter Belle but was vetoed. Wanted to name my 3rd daughter Marie, vetoed. Wanted to name my son Sebastian, vetoed.
