PLEASE!! Does any of you "Disney Professionals", have a simple explanation of what monorails/boats take me to where? IOW... if I am at a park that HAS a monorail or boat service... WHERE DOES IT TAKE ME??!! I think I remember that Epcot has some sort of trans. that can take me to Boardwalk (to eat and drink :drinking1 party: ) -I know the buses can too....,but I really NEED to know what my OTHER choices or modes of transportation I can use, instead of busses. I hate trying to "park hop" by bus only... isn't there other, sometimes easier ways than to #1 leave park, #2 get off at closest resort, #3 jump back on the next park bus I want to "hop" to???!! :confused3 Thank you SO much for ANY help you can give me!!

MK:
Monorails take you to monorail resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian, GrandFloridian) and the Transportation & Ticket Center. Boats take you to Poly, Cont., Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and Grand F.

Epcot:
Monorails take you to Transportation and Ticket Center only.
Boats take you to Swan/Dolphin, Beach/Yacht, Boardwalk, and MGM.

MGM:
Boats to Swan/Dolphin, Beach/Yacht, Boardwalk, Epcot

AK:
Buses only!

Hope that helps! :)

There are three monorail loops:

1. Resort Monorail - goes from TTC to Poly to GF to MK to CR to TTC (or maybe it goes the other way around, I can never keep track).

2. Express Monorail - goes from TTC to MK (no stops) and returns to TTC

3. Epcot monorail - goes from TTC to Epcot, back to TTC

Boats - most boats will take you from the park to one of the resort hotels - though one does take you from Epcot to MGM and back again. Here's what I can remember off the top of my head.

MK - boats to GF, Poly, WL - i don't think there is a boat to Contemporary, but not sure - there may also be a boat to Fort Wilderness? Not sure about PO or Riverside (nor do I remember the new acronyms for the new names for this hotel).

Epcot - boat to MGM, that stops at Beach club, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin - boat also goes back to Epcot, also stopping at all the resorts on the way.

MGM - same as the Epcot boat

AK - no boat service that I know of

Downtown Disney - boat service to OKW, Saratoga, not sure about PO or Riverside

That's all I can remember for now - can anyone tell me what i've missed?

Great list. Tiny correction - there is no boat from the MK to CR

There is a boat that does a cirlce between CR, WL, and FW... maybe that is the one you are thinking of. CR is close enough to walk to from MK.

Now I am excited... 21 days for me and I will be getting ready to board a plane for Disney! YEAH!

If you are at Epcot, and want to get to BW, then you can head to the 'back' entrance aka the International Gateway. It's off between England and France..just keep walking straight after passing by England, don't take a left over the bridge to France. Then, when you exit through the turnstiles, you can either take a friendship boat to BW, YC/BC, S/D and then MGM, or you can just walk to the resorts. It takes about 8 minutes to get to BW or YC/BC. To get to BW, take a left over the bridge after you go past the friendship boats. It's a nice walk, very easy. Or take the boat...but the boat can sometimes be a bit longer.

OOOPPS! I guess that sounds like a DIFFERENT character... (Tony the Tiger), HA HA! :goodvibes Anyway, thank you all so very much... NOW... I just have to find a plan!!YIKES!! :rotfl:

I noticed someone posted that there are three tracks. DH & I were thinking of just riding the monorail on our first day so our DS4 could experience it. What would be the best one to take? We're staying at Pop and will be taking the buses to the parks.

Thanks :)

DH - 23 days to Dis
Me & DS - 27 days to Dis to meet up with DH ( :hourglass it's going to slow)

Without a doubt -- to me the best route for a beginning of the trip (or even during if someone in your party is having a mini melt down :lmao: ) Is the Epcot run. It is long and gorgeous! That "big ball" as our youngest said when she was 10, appears in the distance and you can keep going or get off for a bit .. without even entering park. Get back in line. Be sure to ask BOTH times to ride up front with driver. You might haffa wait a bit but the view is great and your son will feel really special.

The monorail station is located just outside of the entrance gates of EPCOT.

Thanks! I've taken the monorail before, but that's because we stayed off site the previous three times and had no choice. Loved it though :)

I am sure that our son would  to ride up with the engineer (if we can work it out). His Pop-Pop (my father) used to work for the Long Island Rail Road, so our son will have a lot to tell him when he returns!

I am not sure if the other posters have refered to this statement directly, but there IS transportation between the parks (except that for MK, the busses go to the TTC).

So,

From Epcot to/from:

AK - bus
MGM - bus, boat,walk
MK - Monorail to TTC and then either the monorail or ferry to MK.

From MGM to/from:

AK - bus
MK - bus to TTC and then either the monorail or ferry to MK.
