We are having our garage sale tomorrow I do hope it doesn't RAIN.
I have been going from room to room and putting any and everything in a box and taking it out to the garage. I better check to see if the husband, son, cats and dog are not marked with a sale price and ready to be sold.
I so want to make ALOT of Disney Dollars tomorrow to spend.
I have the pkg paid for so what I make will be my "Magical Money"
Send me some wishes and pixie dust.

:tinker:
sending you pixie dust that :

1) you make lots of $$$
2) you get rid of lots of stuff

Garage sale was a big success made $500.oo and still have lots of things left over to have one more next month.:cheer2:
Mind you I earned every cent of that "Disney Magical Mad Money" having to get up at 5:30 am to pull everything out as we had so much stuff that not only did we have tables set up in the garage(two car) but down the driveway and in the yard. Lot of big ticket items such as daybed, dresser, end tables,
Small mini fridge and lots of nic nacs.
Not to mention it was super HOT outside here in Ohio in the 90's and humid.

The pixie dust helped.:tinker:

Hurray for you!! :cool1:  :cool1:
$500 is great. And just think how much less work next month's will be since you've got it all boxed up from today.
The best I've ever done is in the $300's, but I usually don't have any really big ticket items just maybe one or two for $40 to $50 ish.

Way to Go. :goodvibes

It is still set up on the tables in the garage and ready to go. But I still have many more closets and nooks and crannies to go through to get rid of more junk. I am on a roll:rotfl:
I still have a couch&love seat, two end tables, entertainment center and a chair still to sell. Plus lots and lots of Christmas decorations I plan on putting up for sale as I used to decorate ALL my rooms but now that the boys are older I have down sized my decorating.

I am having a garage sale this weekend and I hope I do as well as you!!!!
I also have a daybed , air conditioner unit, 2 heater units, some clotes and alot of kitchen stuff. I am crossing my fingers!!

Good Luck!

We were supposed to have our neighborhood garage sale the 1st Saturday in June but in rained. It is re-scheduled for September. At least I have more time to collect stuff to sell! And it's still before our October trip to Disney!

Let us know how you did in the sale.....

I am so jealous!! The most I ever made was $100 dollars and that was for 3 days of really hard work. I want, no I need to have one this year, but I am so not looking forward to it. I don't really think it's worth all the work. I need some other ideas to get rid of my stuff.

Hopefully it won't rain this time.

Look at it this way that is $100.00 you didn't have and you managed to get rid of junk you didn't need or use anymore.
It does take alot of work.
Maybe you could talk someone (good friends or neighbors ) that will help you set it up and pay a % to them. Say if you made $100.00 you could offer to give them 20% --$20.00 this would work really well for a teenager to make some extra cash.

I usually have a yard sale every Sept/Oct to make $ for a trip to Longabaerger, however I am not going this year cause the family is gonig to WDW!!!

So I have been going around the house cabinet by closet but cubby getting stuff together for the sale now, this way I am not runnign around like a nut the week before. All the $ made will be Disney $!!!! YAY!

We also have been ebaying some higher end stuff (antique sewing machine went for over $200!!!!) all for WDW!

We decided today to go to Seaworld for a day, which will cost us $500 for a family of 7....yikes! Guess I iwll be working some OT!

Another great idea is to list items, particularly higher ticket items, on Craigslist. That way people looking for the items will track you down, instead of hit or miss at yard sales. You could even advertise your next sale on Craigslist and offer a "pre-sale preview" to generate a sense of urgency! I have just cleared out a bunch of toddler toys, made over $200, and everyone showed up and paid w/out haggling....it was beautiful!!

Congrats on the $$ you made!

Im planning on a garage sale this coming weekend and also next weekend to try to get rid of whats left over plus hoping to have some additional items once I finish going thru stuff before next weekend.. not sure if I can get it all done by the first day of the sale.. so hoping the 2nd weekend will really help..

Anything I make will go towards our trip later this month..

I list our big items in the newspaper and it usually brings in those who are looking for just those items and I also post sign up a week before in store windows and bullentin boards at work. Never have used Craigslist but that is a great idea...THANKS

Just wondering if all of us having a garage sale put out a Disney Donation Jar if any one would contribute to our cause:confused3 :rolleyes1

I'm still going through closets and finding more and more to put in our next sale at the end of this month this can be addicting making Disney Dollars:mickeyjum

Again here is hoping everyone has MAGICAL garage sales

Hey everyone,

I am getting ready for my garage sale this friday and have a question??? Do you guys price the items or just let your customers make an offer? I was thinking of pricing a table at $5 but I think it would be better to keep kitchen stuff together, electronics and so forth..what do you think?? I am such a garage sale newbie :confused3 .

On a plus we leave for Disney next Saturday so I took the kids to cash in the change jar..$290.00 :cool1: , also husband listed something on ebay that was given to us for $50 and its up to $350 :worship: !!!Hubby and I keep betting who will do better, him on ebay or me at the garage sale!!!

Thanks for the pixie dust everyone !!! We did good!!! I made $420 and hubby made $400 on his ebay item. So it looks like we can eat in disney next week!!!

Thanks
