Disney Mix Max what else can you watch?

I know nothing about Mp3 players etc..... I bought DD a Disney Mix Max so she can use it on the plane. I know I can have DD download songs from I tunes and from CDs off the computer. I know I can buy little video cards with movies.....can I only use Disney Mix Max ones??? I was looking on ebay and I didnt even know what to look up. I looked up mix max and only found Disney movies. Are there others....cartoons, movies etc? What would I search under. I am so oblivious to these things.......Is there a way to download videos from the computer?? Is there a way to download them from a CD from the compter?? I know, I know I am so computer dumb!!!

I'm sorry I don't have any info for you, but I was wondering the same thing. I've been planning on getting an MP3 player for dd and was looking at this for an option.

Look at Walmart.com...they had the pink one with video screen for $30. I had it sent to the store near me so I didnt have to pay shipping. They must be discontinuing the pink one as it is the only one on sale that much. The others are still a lot higher.......Oops I just checked and they are not listed but the orange ones are $39 which is still quite a bit cheaper than the others. I was thinking of getting a small I pod but these are easier for DD to use....

I do believe that there are only disney moves for the max players. I found about 12 different ones on ebay.

I could only find a few video but more just audio. For video there seems to be

High School Musical

That is about it.
There are quite a few audio songs ones from Disney but those I figure I can download off DD cds......

My DD 8 has one. She absolutely loves it. I bought her a couple of the music clips, but my neice downloaded a bunch of songs off the computer for her. As far as the videos, I am computer illiterate and still have no idea how to download videos either but would also love to know how. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Converting video (from TiVo for example) is pretty complicated, but there are instructions available online. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who doesn't enjoy working with video because you have to get the frame size just right.

On eBay, type in "mix max movie."

Check Target clearance too.

My target has all the mix max's on sale as well as the movies. I'm not sure the price of the mix max, but the movies and music cards were 7.

I believe the mix max fits an SD card so you could download movies onto it as long as you put them in the right format. I have been promising to do that for dd but I haven't yet, I need dh to do it. There are instructions online on how to do it

Thank You! I just got the one from Walmart for DD's Bday next month. we have one for my 6 yr old and she loves it. at 40.00 I can justify getting one for DD who will be 4. these will be great for the plane in Oct.

I downloaded the tv shows they have on the Disney web site so now I really need to get my act togetehr and figure out how to put other movies on it.

Except that person on Ebay would also be in jail for a long time for copyright infringement! If Disney made more movies on cards, that would be good. At 199 MB per movie, you could put a few movies on a 1 gig card and be happy. I need to go out and buy some SD cards now tho since the movie is still on my computer.

they are 1.99 each but worth it IMHO since it is all she watches anyway on the Disney Channel.

I do it though TiVo using cable internet and I can also record TV on my computer. I have a Sony and it has a built-in tuner, but you can buy a tuner for any computer.

With DVDs, people buy (ripping) software that reads the video and converts it to certain file formats. This way also works for people who have DVD recorders, they record on DVD, then use the DVD in their computer.

It's not as hard as it sounds, but it is time consuming. There are also sites where you can pay to download TV shows, which would be much easier. I don't know if any convert to exactly what you'd need for a mix max, but all you would do if they did was copy that file to a SD memory card and put it in the player.

A few years ago, there was a child gadget called VuGo and you could plug it right into the TV inputs and it recorded like a VCR. I bought one on clearance to record several TV shows for the kids to watch on the plane. It was the easiest thing I've ever used, but the resolution was horrible. If that used the same format as mix max, it would be perfect for making SD movie/TV show cards, but like everything else, it used it's own encoding software because of copyright laws.

It generally is legal for someone to have another format of a movie they own for personal use. It is illegal to sell those other formats. Sharing is somewhere in the middle.

does anyone have had experience with the Nickelodeon version of the mixmax ? target has them clearance for $19.99, originally $79.99. the nick movies $10. I was thinking of buying two for my neighbors kids for their birthdays this year.

We have the Mix Stix and the Mix Max and they are both extremely hard to use. As a matter of fact we have now been able to load any movies at all. We printed the 16 pages of instructions and still can't fiqure it out. Dh works with computers and is quite knowledgable and he can't figure it out. So we got DD another kind and she is able to do this one herself.
