Disney merchandise credit

I just got an e-mail that is really unbelievable. It says that I can get a $500 disney merchandise credit for $395. It covers only merchandise, not room or food. If we were going to spend that much on souvenirs, that would be an awesome deal. It is just the two of us and we already have so much Disney junk that we really don't need anymore--especially not $500 worth. Did anyone else get this?

Yes. We are 13 days out from our trip. It must be purchased within 7 days of arrival. It just came in to our e-mail a little while ago.

I got this for our trip this past January. You'll be surprised how quickly stuff adds up. You can use it for some food items, such as Goofy's Candy Co or Main St Confectionary. Had no trouble at World Showcase either, but read the restrictions carefully. Even used it to buy tylenol at the Baby Care Center. Lost it though at the $30 balance mark, it fell out of my lanyard, so be careful about that too. I thought it was a good deal.

They include a list of places that it will not work at. I would rather they include a list of places that it WILL work at. It says no food so I assumed that it would not buy ANY food. If I knew where I COULD use it I might would get it. We have definitely sworn off the souvenirs this trip. Our house and closets are getting smaller and smaller.

YES! I got the e-mail tonight as well! You also have the option of buying $600 of credits for $495 or $1,000 credits for $695! We are going in 14 days and will definitely be buying the $1,000 one. The credits NEVER EXPIRE!!

We got a similar offer before our trip last December and purchased it. We were able to use it in a lot of places and have some left over for this trip. We used it to buy prepackaged food (cookies, chips, soda bottles) in the store at our resort without any problems.

Ooh, this is being sent out again? How exciting! I remember some months back people were talking about this, and I wished I'd been planning a trip. Even when we go on bigger trips to DLR, we budget ourselves with giftcards, so this would be excellent for us when we finally get to WDW.

Wow this sounds awesome, I had never heard of this before. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get one before we go next month! (The amount of savings would more than cover the exchange rate )

It was a Disney Destinations email with a pin code. I got the $1000 one and "paid" for it with Disney Visa Rewards points. Then I decided I wanted to pay OOP for it, as the Rewards Dollars had fewer restrictions on where you could spend them, and they reversed the charges with no hassle. I paid for it then with the Disney Visa (to earn yet more points.)
