Disney Magical Express Question

We are booking a trip to WDW this Sept and will be staying at All Star Music Resort in a family suite. We are booking a Saturday to Saturday trip but because of our schedules and available flights we won't be able to make it to Orlando until 9pm or later. What we are considering doing is flying in on the Friday night, before our WDW reservation and staying at a hotel near the airport. Then get up early on the Saturday morning and head to WDW and not losing out on an entire day of our reservation.

My question - Is it possible to stay at a hotel near the airport the night before our reservation at Disney begins and then use the Disney Magic Express the next day after our flights? Our airline isn't on Disney's list of airlines who handle the baggage for us, so we'd be keeping them with us anyways.

Thanks!

#1 your airline doesn't have to be on the list for you to use incoming luggage transfer. Anyone can use it if they use the yellow tags. The participating airline is only for Remote Airline Check In on WDW property. See the sticky at the top of this page. You can't use the yellow tags if you are not checking in until the day after your arrival.

#2 Yes, you can stay at the airport hotel (Hyatt) or close to the airport. I stayed at the Residence Inn.

That said, you would have to pick up your luggage anyways and take it to the airport hotel with you. When you return to MCO to catch ME in the morning, your luggage is stowed under the bus for the trip. A tip is in order for the driver if he/she handles your bags.

I have done this with no problem at all. We stayed at the MCO Hyatt right IN the airport. Very convenient.

Will this work on the way OUT as well? We have a 7am flight out of MCO, so instead of having to get up at a Disney hotel at 3am we want to spend the final night at the airport Hyatt. So we would want to leave our Disney hotel at say 9pm the night before. How would we do this with the Disney Magical Express? Do we have to make a special request? Would they allow it?

Thanks,
Vlad

Yes if you check out from disney you can take ME back to MCO.
You just need to give ME some flight data as if you are taking a flight at the time you want to be back at the airport. Just find a flight leaving a couple hours after you want to get to MCO.
You won't however be able to check in for your flight at your disney resort. You will need to take your bags on the ME bus with you.
