Hi!!! ... It's been a year of will I? Won't I? But I found a pal to come with me for the cruise (thread stalk for relevance)....

.... I met a travel agent this AM, and I have I until Tuesday to pull the trigger on this and leave a deposit.

However, despite my best efforts - I have been able to double check and verify that the stateroom she picked for us #6596 sleeps 5. The reviews I've seen (posted last year) say it only sleep 4.

Has anyone been recently and can confirm if the staterooms in that area (or even that room!!) sleep 5?

Agent said that the main bed splits but we've since learned that they don't. So she is now telling me that it's a queen bed, a sofa bed, and 2 bunks. I don't want to drop my hard earned $$$$ in a stateroom that isn't going to suit us.

If your TA can book that room from DCL, then it will sleep 5. The DCL system will not allow 5 people to be booked into a room that only holds 4.

A 5 person room has a queen bed (2 people); a sofa bed (1); a bunk bed (1) and a Murphy bed (1).

I don't know what ship you're asking about, but you can look up room reviews here:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm

Just scroll down until you find the room number (regardless of which ship it's listed under). And click on the number.

I must be derping because I can't see 6596 on the Disney magic reviews.

Also, we're only 4 people, 2 female adults who are friends, and 2 kids. Friend and I don't want to share a bed... ;-)

On other reviews places, not disboards, the latest review from last year says it sleeps only 4.

I guess I'll just have to trust that the TA has it right and we're not going to find ourselves in a room for 4.

That's because 6596 is listed under the Fantasy. I said just click on the room number (regardless of what ship it's listed under).

Scroll down that page and you'll find review of the Magic (& Wonder) after the Fantasy & Dream reviews of that stateroom.

According to the DCL website that room sleeps 3 to 4. So, it's most likely a queen bed, sofa bed, and bunk bed. Maybe whichever adult has the kids will have to share the queen with one of the kids. Or both kids in the queen bed and the adults in the sofa and bunk beds.

Thanks.

Yah, I'm not feeling that my TA listened then, eh? I want a "Sleeps 5" room, and she quoted me extra for it being a larger room. I was rummaging around on the internet some more - and according to Disney's own site - it will be the Disney Fantasy that we're sailing on, and not the Magic - which the TA said it was.

*GGRRRRR*

I know my pal, she will not want to share sleeping space with the kids, or me, this is why we wanted a room that sleeps 5. She gets the queen sized bed, kids get the bunk beds, and I get the sofa bed.

URGH. This is a lot of money on a vacation.

Just as a point, the "bunk beds" are the sofa bed and the drop down from the ceiling bed. A fifth person would be a Murphy bed.

The Dream and Fantasy show that rooms number as being for 5 people... maybe that's the ship you're booked on? Maybe double check the date/port on the website to see which ship it is

If you need a different travel agent I highly recommend Josephine at Small World Vacations. She helped us book our cruise for later this year and she's been great and very knowledgeable with all the questions I've had since this is my first time on DCL.
