Hello,

It's been a minute since we've been on a cruise (2013). We LOVE Disney cruises, expecially the OG. The Magic is by far my favorite ship. This is the first time my DH and I are cruising without children. We've booked the Magic sailing Oct 30, 2026 leaving San Diego and I am now in the planning stage. What big changes have been made? We used to be able to bring Alcohol on board, can we still do this? Also, I know it may be silly, but my DH loved to get Tacos as his pre dinner snack. Do they even have those anymore?

I've been watching Youtube videos but I can't seem to locate just what information would be helpful. So I am asking for all tips and information I can find. I am also looking ffor those awesome magnets. I made some years ago, can't locate them at all.

TIA for all of your help. I can't wait to hear all of your suggestions/

You may carry on 2 bottles or wine or a 6-pack of beer per adult over 21 in your cabin at embarkation as well as any ports you visit. No hard alcohol.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. I remember when we traveled we could bring a small portion of hard alcohol. Looks like we'll be doing tastings....LOL Again...thank you for answering.

I was on the Magic this past August and it was amazing. There have been some changes since you've been on it, mostly rethemes.

You can bring beer or wine onboard. It's 2 bottles of wine or 6 beers per person and you can do that when you board from each port. You'll be sailing during Halloween theme. There will be decorations and a couple different activities for Halloween. None of the Halloween stuff is extreme or over the top.

I didn't see tacos anywhere. Where did he get the tacos in the past? There are food options on the pool deck and it's possible that I just didn't see the tacos.

I believe it was on the pool deck... at this place with Goofy on the wall. It has been a minute. LOL.

So, just to make sure I understand.... we can purchase beer/wine in port and bring it on to consume too? That is a new thing. We are just excited for our 1st adult only cruise....LOL

Yes, up to 2 bottles of wine or a 6-pack of beer purchased in port can be taken back to your stateroom. Any additional or if you purchase hard alcohol will be held until the end of the cruise,

The most visible changes on the Magic since 2013 are that the Promenade Lounge (on Deck 3 behind Lumiere's) has become the Soul Cat Lounge, with a more interesting menu, and Carioca's/Parrot Cay has become Rapunzel's Royal Table, with Rapunzel and Flynn visiting during dinner.

The 3 adult lounges may have been renamed, but are still there: the sports bar O'Gills, the nightclub Fathoms, and the piano bar Keys. Definitely check those out on your first sailing without kids (aka the first sailing where you don't need to put anyone to bed).

There are now 2 pre-cruise registration steps: several months before the cruise (depending on your Castaway Club level) you can book activities including excursions, spa treatments, beverage tastings, and Palo dining. Then just over a month before sailing (again, depending on your Castaway Club level) you should do online check-in, which requires uploading images of your passport or birth certificate and a selfie that is like but not identical to your passport photo, payment information, and travel information. Once you've entered the information, you can select a Port Arrival Time.

Happy planning!

We are sailing on the Magic out of Galveston in about a month so I’ve been researching.

No tacos on the pool deck. There’s the Duck-In diner with burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries, etc. Daisy Delites has sandwiches and fruit and soups and bowls (think base of quinoa or lettuce or rice and toppings), as well as a shawarma station.

Pinocchio’s pizzeria is pizza, obviously.

Soft serve also on the pool deck.

Rapunzel's Royal Table was very loud. Our server couldn't hear us. You can make dining requests (not guaranteed) in the App for where your table is going to be. I've set next cruises to a quieter area.
