we're considering booking a cruise on the disney magic in september 2016.

anyone else on the disney magic this summer/fall?

We're on the 7 night from Barcelona that sails on 10th September. Maybe see you on it!

cool!
we're looking at the sept 3rd sailing...
just thought of disney....we were hoping for the harmony, but with the shenanigans royal pulled on the harmony sailout (as well as other royal incidents of late), we don't feel confident about booking with them...
so we thought about going back to DCL and are looking at sept mainly because it's not quite so costly...

has your cruise already passed final payment?

We looked at the Harmony too but decided to stick with Disney. Have to say the Harmony does look an impressive ship and it was very tempting!

This will be our third cruise, both of the others were with Disney on the Fantasy and we booked this one on board so have a discount and some credit. RCL would've been a cheaper for a veranda room but more than what we are paying for the oceanview we have on the Magic (this will be our first time without a veranda but in all honesty we don't really use it), so decided to stick with what had booked. Will probably try for an upgrade at the port (not done that before) but if we can't get one we'll be happy with what we have. On our previous cruises we have spoken with others that have done loads of cruises and everyone always said that Disney was the best cruise line, just pricey! That's why we picked this itinerary as well, as you say its not as costly as some of the earlier ones!

Yes, all paid in full now, it was due at the beginning of May. Can check in and book excursions two weeks today!

Let us know what you decide!

we'll either book balcony or balcony guaranteed
i've never done a guarantee one before, but it's over $1,000 difference, so maybe i'll take the risk?
we shall see

We (my friends I cruise with) are doing Alaska next year but trying Royal Caribbean instead of Disney - much as I love Disney they have really priced us out now. The costs are crazyville!

we did alaska last summer on royal's radiance of the seas and we LOVED it!!!! love love love love loved it!!!!!!!!
most fantastic trip ever...
we did a week in mainland alaska before the cruise and then took the southbound radiance out of seward to vancouver..
absolutely a wonderful trip and cruise....you will LOVE it!!!
i can't wait to go back to alaska....magnificent place!!!! gorgeous!!!! perfect!!!!

We are on Magic from 27th August. So we will be getting off when you may be getting on!

This will be my third time on Magic ( we went on Dream at Christmas), and we are really excited. There are plus points about each ship! We had our OLCI on Sunday, and have booked the port adventures we wanted to do as well as BBB for DD :goodvibes

Claire :)

Transatlantic for us, Taking her back over from Barca to NYC. :)

Ohh you've got me excited now - thank you!

there are not enough superlatives in the english language for alaska....it is amazing!!! awesome..
we did our pre-cruise DIY.....since we had my 88 year old mom with us, we only spent a week...actually 5 days before the cruise...
but if we ever do it again, i'd like to try for even longer before the cruise...

we've never been on the magic, only the wonder and the dream.....
we were on the wonder a few times, the dream only once....while i thought the dream was beautiful and had lots of nice things, i wasn't happy with the stability (it kept doing the sailboat thing....not to my liking at all)....perhaps my experience was colored by hurricane sandy which was raging around us, but that ship gave me the feeling it was going to keel right over...so i'll stick with the smaller ships...

transatlantic again??? i thought you weren't going to do it this year as its much shorter than the one last year...
No, we booked it while onboard The Fantasy last August. It's still 11 nights, not quite the 14 nighter we did in 2014 but it will be good.

Never had a problem with stability but we also much prefer the older ships. Really want to do an Alaskan cruise but very much doubt it will be with Disney unfortunately.

We're on her this summer but in August - really looking forward to being on her having only been on the Wonder.

Alaska is without doubt the most fantastic place - we've been there twice now and have every intention of going back at least once more.

we were on royal caribbean in alaska, as disney only has a roundtrip cruise - which doesn't allow for mainland alaska touring..
best for alaska is to pick a one way cruise, either northbound or southbound...

the best way to approach which ship - look at all the itineraries of the various cruise lines, and pick the itinerary that best suits your interests..

that's how we picked royal caribbean's radiance of the seas.....we liked the itinerary....and i already knew that i liked royal, so it was a perfect match...

wow, twice....i'm jealous...i really hope i get to go again....i think it would be a wonderful place to summer....you know, have a summer cottage that you go back to every year.....i totally fell in love with alaska...especially seward....a little piece of heaven for me!! :)

for your med cruise, have you picked out excursions? or are you planning to do it on your own?

Does the Transatlantic stop in Dublin on the way back to NYC as it did on the way over? If so I have been helping the British Isles Cruisers plan their Dublin port day, so if you need help let me know :)

No, but we have already been to Dublin this year so not too bothered about calling there on the cruise.

Ports: Barcelona, Spain; Ponta Delgada (Azores), Portugal; Sydney, Nova Scotia; Halifax (Nova Scotia), Canada; New York, New York

i would rather have the itinerary you had on your last one (didn't it go to the southern caribbean or something like that)..

although ending in new york isn't bad....are you going to travel around after the cruise? a road trip in the northeast?
