Disney Magic - Dec 10, 2011 - Western Caribbean Cruise - Sun, Fun and Beaches!

Hi everyone!

my name is Richelle and am from Boston. There is no place to buy disney pins around here. in the chaos of disembarkment, i forgot to buy some christmas pins for stocking stuffers! my kids NEVER left my side!!!!! i lost my license in the stateroom and they now give you a disembarkment time according to your meal time eg early or late. Soooooooo if anyone is willing to send me some christmas and pirate pins I will send you the money. I know this sounds like a scam..... but it's not. i am just a frazzled mom.:worship::laundy:

In case you don't get any takers, I wanted to let you know that I've had good luck buying Disney pins on E-bay. I've bought both bulk pins where I didn't know what I would be getting and individual pins to finish off a series collection.

If it makes you feel any better, you couldn't buy pins on disembarkment morning anyway, the ship stores aren't open.

Just checked the weather today and its supposed to be scattered thunderstorms in Key West on Sunday. The weather only goes out 10 days but all the days leading up to Grand Cayman and Cozumel show rain as well......

This is GREAT news! The weather report is so rarely correct this far out. So, we are sure to have fine sunny days. :goodvibes

I had umbrellas on my packing list and later crossed them off. I guess I will drag them along after all. If I have them, it won't rain.

SEVP: We are staying at Jambo House! Would you like to meet for dinner or a coffee/drink or something?

thanks for the picutres. We were at a birthday party last night.
I have been exploring the dis this morning and dd saw a picture of the souffle from Palo and said yummy but was said because she won't get to enjoy it.
She is very excited about the cruise.
I have so much to do. I haven't even started packing yet.

I'm back! Traveled for Thanksgiving to my sister's house who just had a baby, immediately followed by a COLD. Since I'm taking off 6 days for this cruise, I can't afford to miss any days from work. I have so much to get done before Thursday!! But I woke up feeling a bit better this morning, and I feel much like that PP who said at least she won't be sick on the cruise having already had it this season. :woohoo:

I think we have everything booked, so all we need to figure out is what to pack. But I always feel anxiety about new situations, so I am fairly panicking. I don't like the news that rain is forecast.

In happier news, I have explained to DH about booking our next cruise on board, and how it will save us money, etc. I think he's okay with that idea. Since we're on the west coast, the next will probably be Mexico or, my personal hope, Alaska! I have my eye on the two cruises next September, the Alaskan cruise followed by the repo to Los Angeles, which is within driving distance so would be perfect (only have to pay for a flight one way). Unfortunately... it is expensive to cruise for 2 weeks, take 2 weeks off from work (esp. September, as that is the end of the fiscal year and I work in the budget office). But I can't help thinking about how to make it work.

Any last minute packing tips you'd like to share or point me towards?

Emullins - yes, for sure! We check in on afternoon Dec 08th. Perhaps we can set up a time/place to meet for coffee?

Question: Started to pack & not sure about formal night - how formal?? Does my DH need a shirt & tie or jacket - or just a collared shirt and long pants??

Agh. Starting to get stressed!

Sorry I've been MIA lately- busy season for my business. I don't have a FE holder yet- We may have to get super creative... it may be just brown paper backs, yarn, and some clothes pins! The names for my crew are:

Patrick
Mandy
Aidan 8 (boy)
Keagan 7 (boy)
Kyle 4 (Girl)
Avery 3 (Girl)

Can't wait!

EMullins 91 - we are staying at the AKL beforehand too!

Please let me know the status of MandyO, too.

FINALLY completed my on-line registration! Literally took a week!! Ended up calling the DCL people to fix my account - looks good now though.

Have a 1pm time, but the DCL staff person told me that as we are travelling via DCL transfer not to go by the on-line time but the time the DCL transfer tells me . . .so it will probably be earlier?!

I hope that if someone's room # changes at check that we find out so that the FEs go to the right place :confused3

So - the question earlier re names on the FEs - do we do that??? Like saying who it is from?!

First time Disney Cruiser- we are beyond excited!

I will add your names to the FE list.
I hope that you will have time to relax while on the cruise.

good morning,
Only 4 more wake ups. Yippee.
I have updated the Google document with the room numbers and names. Please PM me if you need the link again.

That is great. What position does your squirt play? My son will be so excited to have another hockey player his age in the clubs.

Can't wait to meet up!:yay:

Currently he's playing wing. If I could get him to give it all he's got every time he's on the ice he'd be playing center. But to be honest, he's probably best on defense...definitely not a goalie though :)

I might have missed it, but where do you guys live? I can't wait either! I hope they hit it off and can pal around!

Jen

I have a squirt and 2 mites too. They'd bring their hockey sticks if I let them! Oh, except they have NO IDEA we are going on a cruise in a week. Hee hee!

Awesome...more Squirts! I guess I should've asked both of you, but are your hockey players boys? LOL

Jen

Quite a few of you are from WI, I see. We used to live in WI a year and a half ago. Oak Creek (just south of Milwaukee)- Love that I'll get to see some Cheeseheads again soon!

We are doing a WDW add on after the cruise. Anyone know weather for the cruise and weather/pack suggestions for FL? The cruise will be warm and FL will be cool (pants, jeans- etc) right? So I'll need to pack 2 separate types of clothing?

Welcome Back MandyO.

I am thinking it might be on the cooler side during the evening on the ship as well. The sun sets so early now, add in the moving ship (extra breezy) and the air conditoning, all that toghther and I packed a couple pairs of pants for the cruise as well as a light sweatshirt jacket. I think this would work for florida too only maybe a heavier jacket? Of course when we leave WI on thursday we will be going from 20's to 70's so we might not even need the jacket!!!

As far as the magic being in trouble I certainly hope not!!!!
