Disney Just Called Me About Flordia Rate Glitch...

I just got home and there is a message to call Disney back reguarding the trip i booked during the Flordia rate Glitch. Im scared. I dont want to call back, has anybody else gotten this call?


UPDATE: I got info from another board that they are calling just to verify addresses, and if yours is not a FL one, they will cancle the reservation.

Considering that it is a "Florida Resident" rate why would that not be expected?

No, I got the call too. Left a message that they will only honor the $26.00 rate I got for the first night and that the rest of the nights would be at the regular resident rate of $113.00 after tax. I wonder when the turn around happened. Oh well. I guess I won't go at Thanksgiving after all.

Have you called them back? I can understand them calling all the non-Florida address's. I haven't gotten a call yet, neither did my sister. When were you booked, was it for the Thanksgiving one???? I will be going Oct 14th, you would think that I would get a call before someone for Nov

I have not called back yet. I do have a Florida address, I live in Sarasota. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to you yet. I was waiting to see if others are getting these calls as well.

Also, it would seem odd that they would tell someone they would honor the first night if they were showing as living outside of Florida I think. They have my address, they have my Sarasota phone number which they called me on, they know who and where I am.

It wouldn't make any sense that they would give it to a non resident just for one night. I was able to see that you were from FL by under your screen name. Looking at the posts here so far, you are the only one that they left that message as for...where did you get it that they will honor for one night to non-residents, on another board?
What I would like to know is, if they are doing this, what about the people they they told they would honor as long as there were no changes??????

Forgot to ask...did you go onto the My Disney Vacations web site to see what balance is coming up for you? I am going to look at mine now...

The message they left was that they were calling about my reservation, that they would honor the first night at that rate only but that any subsequent nights would be at the rate I listed above and that I should call them. I did check my balance on line and it shows up the same but all I can say is this is what their message said.

Just for info purposes, my message was left around 4:30 this afternoon.

Maybe I was just unlucky. Keeping fingers crossed for the rest of you that you go "unnoticed"

I never said I wasnt going to call back. I am just waiting to see what happens with others. What "nasty surprise" would await me? They already told me the reservation would be changed. I am well outside of the 45 day window to cancel so I have plenty of time to cancel.

They have to honor the rate for all nights. You have it documented at that rate. Other boards are only saying that they wanted to confirm addresses. One person said they tried to make them pay more, and they threatend to sue, and then Disney said they would honor it.

Geez..you need to calm down! Did I specifically say YOU weren't going to call back? No - I didn't.. I said "those" who "choose" not to call back - and then went on to state that if it were ME, I would call back just to have it over and done with..

Just as a gesture of good faith, I would hope that they would honor the rate - as long as all of the other criteria for obtaining that rate were on the up and up: the person making the reservation is a Florida resident, has a valid Florida address, etc.. I imagine not an awful lot of them went through before the glitch was caught anyhow - or at least not enough to make a large number of people extremely angry..

By taking the deposit they formed a contract for the reservation, at that stated price. They can not tell you you have to pay more.

No problem.. Tensions are running high these days - with Hurricane Katrina and all.. I actually had to take a short break from the DIS for a few days because I was grappling with so many other things in RL.. I found the DIS was the "last straw" that was pushing me right over the top..

Hope it all works out and you have a great vacation!!
