It sounded to me like the poster was running over to the parks to check them out...I mean I'd do that if I lived near there and they WERE open and empty!

I doubt the poster was jumping in their car and starting a long drive to Florida today. The poster had misinformation because WDW parks are closed and will be again today Sun Sept 5,2004.

That's all it was MIS-INFORMATION...not a reason to start judging someone and turning this into a debate.

Liberty Belle...Thank you for your on the scene updates. I have several friends that work at WDW that keep me updated and I appreciate anything we can get straight from the Mouse's mouth to help out all the Diser!

I'll be glad when Frances blows away and everyone's safe and sound again!

From Sarahluvsdisney's other posts, she had a recent 3-day trip to Disney and is planning to stay at OKW over Christmas. It doesn't sound like a local to me.

I AM THE OPENING POSTER.


I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHY I BOTHER SOMETIMES.
I AM CURRENTLY STAYING NEAR WDW AT A FRIENDS AND YES I DID HAVE A TRIP PLANNED THIS WEEKEND.
NO I DONT LIVE NEAR WDW I LIVE IN FT MYERS.
AS I WANTED TO DO THE BEST AND NOT RISK MY SAFETY I CALLED WDW YESTERDAY MORNING AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PARKS WERE OPEN AND THEY WERE NOT TELLING PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY. SO BASED ON THAT I DECIDED I WOULD MAYBE GO YESTERDAY AND THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THE GOOD NEWS WITH PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD T6HAT DISNEY WERE OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
AS SOMEONE A FEW POSTS EARLIER SAID WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO JUDGE OTHERS.
THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD HAVE GONE IF I TOUGHT IT WAS A RISK .

OK, I'm confused? Who was judging Sarah? If people thought I was because I hoped she didn't go "up" there, that was not my intent!!!! I just really hoped she didn't drive there whether that was 10 or 100 miles for her. WDW parks were closed according to their website and media reports. It would be a shame for anyone to waste their time driving to the parks IMO even in the quiet hours before the rains started.

Sarah, did you end up driving to WDW and what happened?

Also, could you tell us what # you did call that provided the misinformation? I would like to put that # in my old memory bank so I don't call it for info!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I can't imagine who would have told her that since they told cm's on Friday not to come to work Saturday or Sunday.
