Disney inspired name for our new kitten...

Congratulations on your kitty. We just adopted our foster kitty on Tuesday
(10th). We've had her since she was a 3 week old bottle fed baby and now
she is 9 weeks old.
We named our little girl Boo. She is constantly scaring our blind dog like Boo in Monsters Inc.

Boo is my avatar picture, it's really a tiny picture and hard to see, but she was so tiny.

I have an orange and white tabby (who happened to turn 1 yesterday) my sister got him for me for Christmas last year. As soon as she sent me the pictures of the kittens I picked him out and to me he just looked like a Simba. So Simba he is and the name fits him perfectly. Looking at the names suggested makes me want to go out and get another orange cat and name him O'Malley the Alley Cat - that is so cute.

Good luck with your new kitty and please let us know whatever you decide to name him.

I have two orange and white males myself....I wanted to name my lil' guy Simba, but he got stuck with "One-Eyed Willie" from the Goonies. (He has only one eye-ball, so it is fitting! :-)

I'm rather partial to:
~Oliver
~Simba
~Raja
~O'Malley

I should have named Willie "Scar"...would have been perfect for my one-eyed babe!

My family tends to lean towards movie-inspired names for our pets - we have:

~ Elijah Winston, an 8 year-old black lab. (Winston is from Ghostbusters - his 1st day home we were watching Ghostbusters 2, and the part where they're in the subway and a ghost calls, "WINSTON", Elijah turned around and looked at the tv!)
~ Zuul, a beautiful Russian blue cat. (Also from Ghostbusters)
~ John-Paul, a black/brown tabby. (Actually named after Pope John-Paul...dorky, I know)
~ Simon, a big 'ol orange tabby cat. (Got him at the same time we got John-Paul, and originally named him George-Ringo...yes, Beatles mania!)

We recently got rid of our "baby", an adorable grey bullseye tabby named Mini Mouse. Yes, Mini is spelled incorrectly...it got spelled that way because she was so "miniature" compared to the rest of our crew!

Good luck with the names and keep us posted - and, post some pics! :-)

We named our cat "Gus" after the little fat rat in Cinderella...every now and then I get great pleasure out of reminding him that he was named after a rat...

Toulouse and Berlioz are from AristoCats. I don't recall which one was the orange kitten though. There is also Thomas O'Malley (Abraham de Lacy Giuseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley) from the same movie.

We used to have an orange/white tabby named Thomas O'Malley--he was definitely an alley cat too :lmao:

thank you so much everyone for the suggestions. We still haven't decided, but Nemo is the most appropriate. He keeps "finding" all these tiny spaces in our house that I didn't even know existed, lol. We also have to keep finding his two toys that he likes to knock under the couch and loveseat, lol. He's adjusting well, but he really hates to be alone so bedtime was interesting... he ended up sleeping under our bed, haha.

I will update later with pictures and let you know what name we end up with!

here's our little guy Nemo!
any advice on how we can stop him from eating/knocking down our 7.5' Christmas tree when we put it up in 2 weeks? I know from when my cat Pique (who is 8 now and lives with my parents) was a kitten, no ornaments go on the bottom of the tree. Just worried about what he will do while we are at work!

So cute!!!! congrats :goodvibes

Gus is actually one of the mice. Lucifer is the cat.

I know. I just think the name Gus is cute. I was just thinking of any Disney names, not just cat characters

When Sophie was a kitten...even now...we don't hang ornaments on the bottom unless they are the big chunky wooden ones that won't break if they get batted off. We also have the monorail around it...but that or a train set on a few times and it did scare her off a little...now that she's older she just likes to sleep in the treeskirt. At one point she was climbing the inside of the tree!!

I think we're going to get the tree out of the box, and put it up within the next few days minus decorations to get him used to it. I know it won't stop him from destroying ornaments, but it's a start!

he does look like a Simba. Every once in a while he does simba-like things and my husband reminds me that he's basically just a really tiny lion, lol.
