HI!

Tell me all about Disney in June (1st or 2nd week)! I want to know about the crowds, humidity, heat, rain- all of it!!:goodvibes

Thanks!!

Florida in general is hot. As of today, the temp's in central Fl are in the 60's,but after March, it's just hot.June is hot and humid, and it usually rains in the afternoon-but for a minute. If I were you, I would stay at the resorts, do the parks early morning, go back to your room around lunch time, go swimming, then go back to the parks around 3 or 4, when it isn't as hot. When it's hot, you get miserable and the kids get cranky. I'm speaking just from my own experience.

We are going in June also and have family who said it was hot and humid. The rain usually starting around 5 and was over by 5:30 or so. I planned all my dinners around that time. Hope it works out.:smooth:

We went last year June 3-10. It was HOT and I think it only rained one evening the whole week. Which is unusual. I thought it was pretty crowded. We are hoping to go in May this year. I'm hoping maybe it will be a little better, at least crowd wise.

The weather is so unpredictable. The year that we went in February it was 85 and beautiful all week. We wore shorts the whole time, even in the evenings. We went one year in July and although it was hot, it wasn't unbearable, and I was about 9 weeks pregnant. But this past year in June it just seemed to be so hot all the time.

In both of my June trips to the world it was hot, humid and there was an hour of thunderstorms every afternoon around 4pm. There were lines at most of the attractions (although never through all the queues) and there were a few surprising near walk-ons.

In my most recent trip this past September it was hotter and more humid than in either of my June trips, the thunderstorms didn't come until 6 or 7pm and they lasted for a couple of hours, and the majority of the crowds that were there were probably staying on property since the parks didn't "empty" in comparison to daytime levels for EMHs.

Just FYI - there is a group or something (I'm not 100%) that brings 130,000 people to Disney and they'll be there the 3-9. (gaydays)

I went to Disney the second week of June last year - with a 1.5 year old and being 9 months pregnant. It was hot, but very doable. We just brought a bunch of water bottles and made efforts to stand in the shade.

As far as crowds - it was crowded. WE made sure to get to the parks when they opened and to try and get on as many rides before crowds got there. There were a lot of pleasant surprises with lines being very minimal. As far as excessive crowd - we really only had a problem in MK during the night parade and fireworks.

We've only been to WDW once...that was from May 5th - 9th. This time we'll be there May 29th - June 4th. Is there an appreciable difference between May 9th and May 29th?

At the time of our trip we lived in MO. Comparatively, it felt as if Orlando was about a month ahead of us...that is, May 5th felt like June 5th. A little humid and warm- in the 80's- with rain in the afternoon.

In MO the real heat and unbearable humidity doesn't kick in (usually) until mid-July. So, I figured that by being in Orlando in late May it would be similar to MO in late June...meaning it's a crapshoot. It could be comparatively mild (more likely) or it could be sweltering.

Does this sound about right?

We moved to CO last summer, so I know the humidity will slap us in the face when we get off the plane. I haven't missed it a bit, but unless it's above 80%, we should do fine.

Anyone have thoughts about my reasoning? (Or lack of it, ;) )

It is what it is. You'll be at the happiest place on earth. You'll make do with whatever weather and crowds are there and you'll love it despite those factors. Enjoy your trip!

We've gone in June several times. It is hot, but I think it's hotter in July. After the first day you get adjusted to it. I barely put any makeup on (it just melts right back off). Usually when we do a park..we do the park all day, but this year we were real close to MK and went back for a dip in the pool mid day and it was really refreshing and then went back out and it wasn't so bad. Just remember the sunblock and drink plenty of fluids.

Thanks for the responses! We were there this past August and it was HOT HOT...did I say HOT!!? I was hoping it wouldn't be as bad- hoping the humidity would not kick in as much as it is in August! Not really set on June- trying to feel it out! We went once at spring break and the weather was enjoyable- just the crowds were crazy, but we did not use our fastpasses as we should have. We were also thinking of Nov- the weekend and week right up to Thanksgiving- just not too sure I want to pull the kids out of school- my oldest will be just starting middle school at that time. Hmmm......got some thinking to do here!!:)

Our trips have always been in June or July as dh is a teacher/coach.... yes, it's hot and a bit crowded, but as long as you have a plan, lines should be short enough..... we take our own half-frozen water jug in with us and some fruit, get ice cream or popsicles in the afternoon, and have a GREAT time!!!! We don't know any different (plus we're from Texas and are way too used to high humidity and heat!) so expect to sweat, and have FUN doing it!!!

I like early June better than later June-early July.... last time (2nd week of June) it did rain more than usual, but the short showers don't slow us down....

This past June we visited WDW from 6/8-6/16! It was wonderful. Our DS started elementary school so we left for WDW as soon as the school year finished. I researched and took notes about touring in June. We had no problems at all. We were at the parks in the morning and back at CBR at 1 pm for a swim and nap. Headed back to the parks for the evening. The evenings were fantastic. Be smart and don't push yourselves in the heat. RELAX. We will be back in June 2009:)

We were there the first week of June last year and I just wanted to add that my almost 2 years old DS was completely uncomfortable and fussy because of the heat. My DD, 5, did fine, but DS was always redfaced and sweaty and generally unhappy, even with water, ice cream, and always an afternoon break. We're from Chicago, so he was not all used to the heat. We went again in December:banana:  and it was a completely different experience because the weather was so much nicer. Just something to think about depending on the ages of your kids.
