The eye is over Kissimmee/St Cloud right now (As well as some tornadic activity there) and on a northeasterly path.
While it is very windy here, with heavy blowing rain, the eye is definitely heading slightly east of here, so, the heaviest winds will narrowly miss us here.
And there are STILL people out---in cars and on bikes!
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Florida right now!! Everyone just be safe! On another note, I feel so horrible for everyone at Disney. We are going in a couple months and I would be devastated if this had happened on our trip, after realizing we were safe, I'd be soo upset! Hopefully Disney helps make everyone feel better!!
My prayers are with you. I am in Chas. SC and we are somewhat in it's projected path. Keep us in your prayers. It should reduce strength and hopefully doesn't pick up when it gets over the atlantic.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Disney and in the path of Charley! We are supposed to fly out Sunday morning from Philly. Should be just rain by then, but who knows?
DD13 is already in a panic because she thinks the hurricane will still be there or that our flight will be delayed.
Disneybella,
I hope that everything is still entact for your trip. If everything goes well for us, we will be leaving in 2 weeks for WDW.
Just hope that 4 tropical system doesn' get in our way.
got word that my family is safe in Cape Coral/ Ft Myers...some damage to the house/flooding etc., but safe...hold on Orlando...there seems to be an awful lot of roofs gone, the opital by my brothers house had pretty severe roof/window damage.
I am sending all the prayers I can your way. My SIL niece and nephew are at WDW....will be releived when we hear from them!
Tyler-Please be safe and our prayers and pixie dust are with you now and all central Florida residents. We narrowly missed the brunt of this storm here in Tampa Bay. We never would've thought earlier that this hurricane would be affecting Central Florida or anywhere inland for that matter. It has already caused major devastation to Punta Gorda, Polk County and surrounding areas.
Everyone be extra careful and stay safe at the House of Mouse!
Originally posted by Chip 'n Dale Express It's almost 8:00 here... I live literally, right behind Cinderella Castle. The wind is just starting to pick up... So far I still have power and cable.
The worst of it is supposed to hit Disney and then me within the next hour, so we'll see.
What kills me is that there are still idiots on the road!
Tyler stay safe, we need our man in the PURPLE PAINTS.
The last report I saw said gusts of 105mph were reported at Orlando Internat'l Airport
I, too, have been wondering about the animals at AK and AKL. However, I went on the Sunrise Safari and have seen the housing for the animals - I think they are safe. Disney would have built shelter to withstand hurricane-force winds
Good Luck everyone.
We just got some light rain in our part of Tampa, barely any wind. Charley should be in Orlando by now...hoping all they will get is some rain and light wind too. It should have slowed some by now....
Let the sun come out tomorrow!!!
Sending thoughts and prayers to everyone in Central FL from Colorado. Have been watching the news, reading the dis almost constantly and it seems so odd to step outside to calm, clear skys instead of wind and rain.
I pray for those going through this now. Also God bless the beasts. Have been thinking of AK all day as well.
