Hi all.:wave2:
I'm not really sure how to write a PTR so I'll just jump in.

I'm Amanda and my wonderful fiance, Christopher, proposed last year at WDW!
It was our first trip to WDW together and we had a magical time. We stayed 9 nights at AKV and were there for F&WF.

This time we are staying at BLT for 6 nights then going on a 7 night Disney Magic cruise! Neither of us has been on a cruise and we are very excited for our first stay at BLT and our first cruise!

So here are the major details -
Jan 22-28 WDW Jan 28-Feb 4 on the Magic
6 nights BLT one bedroom villa :cloud9:
4 day Military Salute tickets with WPF&M (no hoppers)
No dining plan
We may drive so we can visit my grandparents for a day or two on the way.
If we drive we will stop at a grocery store when we get in to town. If we fly we will get a grocery delivery. I plan on cooking in the room each morning. (ok, it may end up I toasting frozen waffles!)

So why is this a Pre-PTR? I have a week before I can make ADRs and I want to put out my itinerary and get some feed-back.

I have all of my ADRs picked out I'm just nervous about timing. We are going in January and the hours are kinda short. I don't want to eat a ton of chicken strips tho :rolleyes1

Ok, I'll be back with some highlights from our last trip and details about how I * imagine* our first day or two to going....

EDIT-We just decided to get married on the cruise! We are getting married on St. Thomas! Details to come as I decide on them!

I want to add a few pictures but I don't have many uploaded to photo bucket or anywhere so I'll do that tomorrow. :p

Our highlights from October-
Getting engaged was of course the most magical part of the trip.
Three years ago at DL Chris bought me a Pick-a-Pearl at DTD that we had made in to a necklace. On our Oct trip we did Pick-a-Pearl in Japan and had a ring made. You can not wear the jewelry right away because the glue they use for pearls has to set. The next morning when I woke up Chris came over and put the ring on my finger and asked me to marry him! It was such a wonderful moment for us and it was very unexpected. He told me he didn't even plan on asking me until the night before when we bought the ring.

Other great moments-
-Getting a walk up table for Rose and Crown 45 min before Illuminations our last night :scared1: AMAZING. (it was the first time and only time we have seen Illuminations)
-Savanna view room at AKV. If you have the chance, stay here! Amazing to wake up and see giraffes and zebras outside.
-F&WF. Yummy food from all over the world! Two and a half days in Epcot and we did not get to try everything we wanted to!
-The Grand Marnier tasting! So much fun and Chris was chosen to help demonstrate!
-MNSSHP. Probably better with kids but we had fun. I think it will be a while before I do another party event. The parade and fireworks were some of the best tho!

Ok, well lets move away from the past!

Arrival-Day 1
Dinner and Wishes

We get in on a Sunday. Not sure what time since we don't yet know how we are getting to WDW. Regardless we should be there early enough for some pool time, dinner and fireworks!
My plan is dinner at Kona Cafe (a fav from last year) and then watching Wishes from the Top of the World Lounge at BLT at 8. Then I want to get to sleep as early as possible so we can be up early!
A nice, simple way to start off our honeymoon!

EDIT-We are now driving for sure. We should be to WDW by 1pm. A few hours of pool time then diner at Victoria and Alberts! DFH has not idea we are eating at V&A! I cant wait!

Day Two
Hollywood Studios

Monday we will be going to DHS. Park hours are 9-7 with evening EMH so we can stay till 10.
Plan is to get to the park before rope drop so we can head right to TSMM and ride stand-by. Chris has never been on it before and I want to get to see the queue. I love Mr. Potatohead!
After that we will grab FPs for RnRc and ride both RnRc and ToT stand-by. Chris is NOT a fan of ToT but it is my fav so he rides it for me. :lovestruc
I want to meet some characters this trip so we will go to the animation building and meet Mickey and whoever else is around.
I want to have lunch at Starring Rolls so when we get hungry we will head over that way.
After lunch I want to hit Star Tours (stand-by and FP for later), Great Movie Ride, Muppets, Backlot tour and One Mans Dream.
Then dinner at Sci-Fi Dine In around 6pm.
Spend the rest of the night riding ToT, RnRC and Star Tours and anything we missed in the afternoon.

Here is where if anyone has some advice please let me know what you think. How early should we get to DHS? We don't have to be first on TSMM and we do want to ride stand-by to see the queue so I don't mind a wait. In fact I think I would prefer a wait so we can see everything and not just walk by it. If we get there before rope drop and follow the crowd instead of trying to rush with everyone how long do you thing the line would be? More than 30min? :confused3

How long do you think dinner at Sci-Fi will take? Is an hour and a half a good plan?

Last trip we only spent half a day at DHS and I want to see a bit more this time. Am I being over ambitious? :wizard:

Hi! You commented on my honeymoon PTR so now I plan on DISboards stalking you...:wave2:

First off, I just have to say that I loved reading about your unconventional engagement ring. That is a bazillion times more romantic and personal than a diamond! No lie, my engagement ring is a mood ring. A very nice, non-bubblegum machine mood ring, but a mood ring. I love it!

As far as DHS is concerned, I really haven't spent very much time in that park at all. The last time that I was there was with very small children so we couldn't do quite a few things. I think we only spent half a day there. We definitely plan on trying to do as much as possible there on our upcoming trip.

From what I have seen I don't think that your plan is too over ambitious. I have gone during that week in the past and we were walking onto most rides.

Do you guys plan on doing any of the shows? I haven't done ANY shows at DHS and my tall person has only seen Indy.

Yeah, my first stalker!! :yay:

I LOVE my engagement ring. It is so nice to have something non-traditional.

Couldn't resist.
A mood ring is awesome! I like things with character and a story. Not just the same thing as every other woman I work with, ya know?

Walk on rides is what I want to hear!!! For DHS we are not doing any shows. We saw Indy and Beauty and the Beast last time. Honestly Chris did not like either and Indy was to campy for me. But I have never been a fan of Disney stage shows. I don't like the daytime parades either.:upsidedow

Here are some of our photos from last year.

He's not always this goofy. It's usually worse.

A tender moment on Splash Mountain.

Epcot

Epcot is our favorite park and we are planing on two days there.
Tuesday the 24th is morning EMH. :woohoo: So hours will be 8-9 with Illuminations at 9.

We will be taking the monorail from BLT.
I figure 45-60 min to get there and I hope to arrive just before rope drop. I think if we will leave our room by 7 we should make it.

I think we will head to Soarin' first to get it out of the way. We have done it at DCA but skipped it last year at WDW. We actually got FPs on two different days and just never made it back to use them. :sad2:
Next priority is Captain EO. Another thing we wanted to do last year and didn't make the time for.
After those two things we will get as much done in Future World as we can before lunch. The only thing I don't want to do it Mission Space and Innoventions. I don't really like Mission Space and I don't think Chris cared for it either. And we walked through Innoventions last year and even did Sum of all Thrills but there is nothing there that we care for. Plus Virtual Space Mountain at Disney Quest is better than Sum of all Thrills.

So the break out for our first morning looks like-
Soarin'
Captain EO
Journey into Imagination
TT FP
Spaceship Earth

If we have time for more we will hit Living with the Land and Finding Nemo before lunch at

Le Cellier

It gets such mixed reviews but I am looking forward to it. I may have the steak burger but I know for sure I want the cheddar cheese soup! I had it at F&WF last year and it is so yummy!

We will head back to FW for a while and use our TT FPs, see Ellens Energy Adventure, Club Cool and anything else we missed that morning.

Love this!

We have two days so we don't need to rush to much but there is a lot I want to see. Plus we will be seeing more of WS on Friday. I have a surprise for Chris that day!

I plan on having dinner at one of the CS places. Japan and Morocco look to be the best in WS but we may spend a lot of the day in FW so it may be Sunshine Seasons depending on when we get hungry and what time we get done in WS. We ate at Sunshine Seasons last year and enjoyed it. I figure around 8 we will grab snacks and drinks then find a spot to watch Illuminations.

Our view last year from Rose and Crown

This day will be focused on FW and seeing what we missed last year. Our last day will be focused on WS.

We were originally going to get married in San Antonio Texas on the Riverwalk.
It is absolutely beautiful there, but even planing something small for family was stressing me way out plus with us both being in the military we were having problems making serious plans. Then we decided to just elope at the court house. There is a nice area outside where many people get married. Well, I still wasn't too happy with that. So I started thinking about getting married at WDW or during the cruise and I looked up getting married on St. Thomas.
And we just decided to do it! So our new wedding date is February 2nd on St. Thomas USVI.
I am so happy right now! I have always wanted to get married on the beach!
:dance3::dance3::dance3:
So excited!

I'm sitting at work bored out of my mind so I figured I would jump on and plan some more WDW time!!!

Day four
BB and DTD
Since it will be the end of January the weather could go either way. If it is nice we will head to BB first thing in the morning then play mini-golf. If not we will sleep in and then go play mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens. After that we will head to DTD. Last trip we tryed three times to go on the hot air ballon in DTD and it was closed due to wind everytime :sad2: So we will be checking this out for sure! Fingers crossed we can go this time.

We will just grab a CS lunch at BB or DTD depending on where we end up.
If we don't go to BB we will head to the Boardwalk and check it out and go to DVCs "Welcome Home Wednesday" at Atlatic Dance Hall. In the afternoon we will hit up Disney Quest for a little while. I am not a huge fan of the place but there are a few cool attractions like "Virtual Space Mountain" and "Pirates" that I like, plus DFH likes all the arcade games.
We are having dinner that night at Raglan Road. We passed it last year and DFH was interested in trying it out.
Then back to the tesort to get to bed early as the next day is going to be early at Epcot!

I set my alarm 45 min early to get up and make my ADRs then when it went off I couldn't remember what I needed to do!:rotfl:
After remembering then fighting with the WDW site for about 15 min I was able to start making ADRs and got everything I wanted.

Arrival night~Kona Cafe at 6:15 pm
Day 2~Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at 5:45 pm
Day 3~Le Cellier Steakhouse at 11:50 am
Coral Reef-7:30 pm
Day 4~Raglan Road at 5:45 pm
Day 5~Liberty Tree Tavern at 11:45
The Plaza Restaurant at 5:15 pm
Day 6~Les Chefs de France at 12 pm
Day 7~The Wave 9:15 am

I knew this was going to happen!
As soon as I made my ADRs I started to overplan!
At a friends sugestion I added Coral Reef one night. I'm not sure if we will make it or not. Also I just made a reservation for Victoria and Alberts for the night we arive!!!
I am so excited!
I also want to take a carrage ride and do the segway tour at Epcot.
We only have 5 days at WDW and there is not enough time do do everything I want! lol I have to remind myself we will be back!

Hey there! Congrats on your engagement and wedding! My family (me, DH, and DS 3) will be on the cruise with you in Jan/Feb. I was checking out your link to see what a PTR was. I am still new to all this :) I noticed you will be using the Military Salute tickets. We will be using ours next month when DH comes home on leave from Afghanistan. I used it once with my family in April, but they just released that you can now purchase up to 12 tickets, so we will be taking advantage of the other six tickets. (We are also getting in one last free trip before DS turns 3 in October). We have been to WDW about 14 times and each time I still plan out a detailed itinerary. I just like to take advantage of all the MAGIC I can get while we are there!!! BTW, the segway tour around the world is a ton of fun. We did it twice before DS. Make sure you also plan to see Fanstasmic at DHS. This and Wishes are my favorite shows. (Just don't sit too close, you can get wet). Good luck with all the planning!

So fun! Congrats on the engagement. I tried dropping hints to DBF in May, to no avail :lmao:

Can't wait to read more!

Have you been on a cruise before? This is our first. I am SO excited! No way I was gonna miss a few days at WDW with the price of the salute tickets!

Thanks! I love planing!

I finally made it back over here! That Splash Mountain picture is epic :thumbsup2

Congrats on the ADR's. We're going to sit down and figure out which ones we'd like to make very shortly. So far that only definite ones are Sci-Fi for drinks and an appetizer and the Brown Derby for Fantasmic! I can't wait until we get close enough to actually book stuff!

That pic is pretty much my favorite picture of us. haha. I even have it framed.
What sold me on Sci-Fi was the drinks. I cannot wait to try the "space monkey".

Day five
Magic Kingdom

MK has morning EMH this day so they open at 8am. I plan on getting there about 15 min before RD. I want to hit some rides in FL first thing. Peter Pan and Pooh are first on my list since we skipped them last year. If we can also hit IASW, Tea Cups and PhilharMagic in that first hour or so I 'll be happy. :goodvibes
Next we will head over to Tomorrow Land and ride Space and grab a FP for later. This is Christophers favorite ride so I want to do it a few times.
I also want to see the Carousel of Progress, TTA and for some reason I really want to ride the Astro Orbiter. :confused3 If we can grab another FP for Space I would be thrilled!

On the other side of the park I have ARDs at LTT at 11:45. Splash is my favorite ride in MK so I know that is first on the list after lunch. I figure we can start there then hit Pirates, the Tiki Room, HM, the Riverboat, Jungle Cruise and maybe the Hall of Presidents.

We have diner at the Plaza Restaurant at 5:15. Depending on crowds and how long diner takes we will find a place to watch MSEP, MM&Y and Wishes. I have a few apps including Mobil Magic so we can check on wait times to see if we can squeeze in a few more rides before the parade. MK closes at 8pm with Wishes. I know I am going to be so glad we can just walk back to BLT this night instead of fighting with buses or the monorail!
