Disney gift card

I looked on the disney gift card website and it doesnt say specific restaurants that take it just 'Disney owned' but i dont know which ones are owned and which ones arent? I would like to put half of our cash on it and use if for food and carry less cash but dont want to go into a restaurant and not be able to use it? Does anyone know of a list somewhere or know personally where you have used one? We dont plan on doing the dining plan this time (i think)

All of them take your room charge if you're at a WDW operated resort, even if they don't accept the Disney gift card. You could charge to your room account and use the gift card at the front desk to pay off those charges.

By no means a complete list........

Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex, many others in DTD are not Disney owned.

At the AK Rainforest and Yak & Yeti are not Disney owned.

Epcot has the most non Disney owned restaurants in the World Showcase section. I know Italy, Mexico, and France are separately run, there might be others.

You can't use a Disney gift card at any restaurant at the Swan or Dolphin resorts.

Usually if a third-party restaurant is located INSIDE a Disney park it will accept the gift card. If located outside, some do accept them.

The following Epcot pavilions have third parties running their restaurants:

Mexico
China
Italy
Japan
Morocco
France
