Disney Gift Card with new AP purchase.

Yeah it's pretty clear who didn't want annual passholders and it's also pretty clear that regime no longer has any control in the parks.
I don't think that's it at all. The pause was during a period when Florida was the first to re-open, revenge travel was A Thing, and they were struggling to staff everything back up. This suggests to me that there is a softening in attendance that they are hoping to backfill with APs.

The AP crowd (and, to a lesser extent, locals generally) have always been treated as the attendance shock-absorbers. If attendance were still robust, this promo does not happen.

Why dont they just lower the ap price
This makes sure they capture all of the revenue of an AP. If they just lowered the price, you could use the $100 on something other than Disney.

Can we use the gift card to purchase the photo pass add-on?
I'm sure you can, but you'll probably need to wait until you receive the GC and then do the add-on. You won't have the GC number at the time you buy the AP so you won't be able to use it then.

AP sales resumed soon after the new/old regime took over, well within the revenge travel boom, although as you suggested COVID-era restrictions like masking and strict park capacity limits were long gone by the time sales resumed.

Recall that it was Bob 1.0/3.0 who said he wanted to cull the herd, back in the 1.0 days.

I know everyone likes to blame everything on Bob 2.0, but this doesn't pass the sniff test. His problem was that he didn't know how to Say The Thing, not that he believed A Different Thing.

"Red alert" for those that purchased their AP within the last two weeks. I just got off the phone with member services and although we purchased our Sorcerer on July 11th, Disney is currently providing a 'two week-grace period' to honor the discount. We'll have our cards in a couple of days via email. So, I'd recommend calling them ASAP as we just made the cutoff.

I am renewing my AP with my points. Will I get a GC?

After about 30 minutes on hold this morning, my APs bought on July 6th were apparently not within the grace window. Hope to hear more success stories and will try again later.
I hate how inconsistent they are. The manager literally told me that there is all kinds of information being given by everyone that hes dealing with. If you have the time, I would ask to speak to a manager. It did take forever because the cms have to speak with them thru chat which takes a while and then phone them in once theyre available

I was told it would be up to 72 hours, but they came within 2-3 hours after we bought. OTOH, it was the morning they announced the offer, so I expect they hadn’t had as many purchases or as big a backlog of GCs to send out as they have now!

PS I’m really glad they’re allowing the grace period for those of you who bought recently!
Still waiting!

You call it inconsistency, Disney would call it "pixie dust" - sadly the result for us is you have to waste time and call back.

I'm truly thankful that they've offered any kind of grace period on the credit when the promo started almost two weeks after we purchased ours. They didn't have to, but chose to do it. When I made the call I was thinking if you don't ask you won't know, so I made the call. Yes, the CM did have to speak to a manager, but it was a short wait and I was surprised that they allowed a 'grace period' at all. Again, they didn't have to.

Quick Question if there's any UK members who have bought their annual pass on line, how long did it take you on the phone? Currently it's been 30 minutes since they answered and I still haven't managed to get to the payment yet. Apparently the 'system' does not like UK customers. Is this normal?

After 40 minutes on the phone to DVC, I was told the £75 card could only be bought through WDW ticketing not through DVC. What am I doing wrong here guys?

I honestly don’t know, unless it’s your location in the UK. I called DVC MS to upgrade our hoppers to Sorcerer APs and was done in 30 minutes or less. Sorry!!😞

Is this offer extended to UK guests or is it only for US guests? I don't know the answer to that.
