Hi - has anyone had difficulties accessing their Disney gift cards purchased thru Target? I purchased my Disney gift cards with my Red Card online as usual to pay my dues and received my email confirmations - but when I click the link to go to the ecard center, I get a message that the site can't be reached. I've phoned Target dedicated gift card support line a few times but they have not been able to help me, telling me it's good on their end and to call Disney. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if they were able to resolve it?

That is on Target if you can't get access to the site showing the gift card. It would be on Disney if when trying to redeem the gift card it didn't work.

I would push more on Target.

I just purchased mine through Target last week and it went through fine. I'm sorry it's giving you trouble.

I was thinking of purchasing some GCs through Target today, but held off. I don't have any dues due until March, since I bought some from the Best Buy deal during the holidays. Please keep us posted on this issue, I'd like to be able to purchase some GCs from Target if March rolls around and I haven't found any better deals.

One year we tried buying the gc online. we had a similar problem as you. Eventually we called and turns out the gc purchase didn’t go through and they were hav8ng problems with their 3rd party on it. After that, we just purchase physical gc.

No issues with Gift Card yesterday from Target. Wife bought someone on line to pay dues and for our trip this next week.

My Sams ones were fine. I always use them the minute I get them to eliminate room for error.

Any good GC deals out there right now besides for the standard 5% CB through various strategies?

Sounds like it could potentially be an ISP issue as well. If you have a smartphone try doing it with WiFi turned off on the phone to see if it will get to the site. This bypasses your ISP and rules them in / out as the issue.

Have bought 8 gift cards in the last few days, and have not had any issues. Thought I would hit a maximum $ amount at some point, but I haven't yet. I’m sure Disney is enjoying all the individual payment transactions.

If you hit up the thread that deals with like Disney savings or what not on the Theme Park section they will likely have something that involves buying the gift cards and getting discounts on your next 500 gallons of gas hahaha.

I kid but I really haven't found anything as easy as the Target offer of 5% off at the point of sale with no hoops.

Hi - has anyone had difficulties accessing their Disney gift cards purchased thru Target?
I think I hit my limit this week! Needed 2 more $500 gift cards, but only got 1 to go through. Tried to do a separate transaction for the 2nd gift card, and it wouldn't go through.

I'm SO aggravated with Target that I wanted to share my frustration! I have quite a bit of dues to pay so I was looking for Disney gift cards to save some $$

Discover is offering 5% back this quarter on Target purchases up to $1500. I tried to buy 3 x $500 Disney Gift cards from Target.com. My order sat in the system for a bit and was cancelled. I thought it might be a quantity limit issue, so a couple days later I placed an order for 1 which was cancelled right away. I checked my credit card info and noticed that the expiration date was old and the card was recently replaced. I adjusted the expiration date and replace my order. Again it sat for awhile and got cancelled.

I called Target to find out what was going on and they told me my account, name, address and credit card numbers i have previously used have been banned from all Target.com orders now and in the future due to "irregularities" not related to these Disney Gift card purchases! They could not give me specifics as to what was irregular about my orders.

My last order was for 3 water bottles in 2021. Before that I bought a TV during the Holidays 2020. There is literally nothing else in my order history!

I was told this final, there is no appeal and they will not provide me more information as to why i was banned!

I have to think that it was an Anti-Money Laundering issue related to these attempted Disney gift card purchases. It's so frusterating that there is no way to talk to anyone and let them know I am just trying to buy gift cards to pay my DVC dues. There is a perfectly legitimate explanation but nobody with any authority would get on the phone.

BE WARNED!!! Target can and will ban your account for no good reason.

When I go through Target to buy DGCs I always buy no more than $400-$500 at a time. If I need more, I will wait a few days before doing so. I have read reports of Target shutting down accounts and Redcards for large purchases of gift cards.

I dont want that happening to me so I have always paced myself with my orders. I also order some physical cards to be mailed out.

Like PP, I only purchase $400-500 at a time with my RedCard but only physical $100 cards. Too lazy to combine a bunch of $25 or $50s!

Somewhat not surprisingly, $100 DGCs are only available at select Targets around me in the more affluent areas...

You can get $200 and $500 increments online digitally. Saves a LOT of hassle combining.

Oh that is not cool-- can you get a new discover card so that its a different number? Is it any and all credit cards associated with your name and address?

**UPDATE**

I was so angry and frustrated that I sent an email to the CEO of Target. I received an email and a follow-up call from the Executive Customer Relations team.

1. They confirmed that the issue arose due to Fraud / Anti-Money Laundering prevention due to the purchase of large quantities of gift cards (exactly as I suspected)

2. They apologized that I was told and MY ACCOUNT WAS NOTED to not allow for any online purchases. I should have been told to purchase the Gift Cards specifically in-store. All other online ordering should have been unaffected but the notations in the system would have blocked ALL PURCHASES which should not have been the case.

3. They offered a $15 Target gift card for the inconvenience.

I let them know that

1. I understand and appreciate the concerns around fraud prevention
2. The gift cards are not sold in-store (At least at my local store - I checked)
3. There should be a better process rather than an outright block such as an in-store identity verification process or a simple phone call where someone can explain they are trying to save some $$ paying their DVC dues and taking their kids to Disney next week! Very reasonable need for gift cards IMHO and the rep agreed.

The executive relations team is trying to see if they can find a way to allow me to buy the gift cards.

I always purchase online but I also always get a hard card sent to me. = trust issues :)

But that means also trusting it actually gets to you. I prefer the e-gift card method but typically just use my Disney Visa rewards to buy them directly from ShopDisney.
