Darn it, I was hopeful, lol, based on last time they had the offer! Besides the fact it doesn't make too much sense to offer something for a week that ends up going for an extremely short time,(thought someone said minutes).

This is OT on Disney GCs, but I used techniques learned on this thread to save 17.6% off some Chicago Cubs Pandora charms on MLB.com where are exempt from any discounts. I bought MLB.com gift cards off Raise (14.9%), used my Visa card to buy them (2%) and also ordered through Ebates (1.5%). Very happy and excited to start building my Cubs Pandora bracelet.

I am not in New Jersey. Our ShopRite circulars are from Friday to Thursday. Safeway and Giant are the same. Another chain just changed from Sunday to Saturday to from Wednesday to Tuesday. Many families here do not get the daily newspaper anymore, but a free shoppers paper in a plastic bag is thrown onto everyone's yards on Wednesday or Thursday.

A long time ago... I remember a grocery chain starting on Fridays. But all ShopRites that I visit in my area start on Sunday. I thought this would be the same for the whole chain. Interesting...

Ugh. So much Pandora never going on sale ... it went on sale TODAY! The charms were a combined $35 less today so I just spent a half hour on the phone convincing MLBShop.com that no one wanted me to buy the items on sale today and return the ones I ordered yesterday. They are going to refund the $4.99 that went on my credit card and send me a gift certificate for the rest. I'm OK with that. I just wish I had procrastinated another day .

There are a lot of competing grocery chains here. All the retails ads used to come with the regional Sunday paper on Sunday. Now the Sunday ad section is delivered on Friday to those who subscribe to the local paper. Many people do not subscribe to either and use online apps, which all the stores seem to have now but it was a slow process. We get ads with a free shopper packet thrown in the yard, with the Friday local paper, and with the Sunday ad section. The daily gives us the weekend papers with ads free along with the local paper. They're making sure the ads get to as many people as possible.

I got my gift card today with the grocery coupon good for the cycle after this!

ETA: I went to store and was able to purchase a random amount GC using my Rewards Card. Just for future reference in case anyone else needed to know!

I went to purchase the last ticket we need for our trip online today and I wanted to use a Disney GC, my Rewards Card, and then put the balance on my Disney Visa. But now, it seems I can only use 2 forms of payment instead of 4?

So my question is.... can I use my Rewards card to purchase a Disney GC at the store AND can I put any amount I want on the GC or am I beholden to the $25, $50, etc amounts? I purchased a GC using my rewards card last year, but I am not sure if anything has changed since then.

I didin’t get an email on this one...I know they have my email because I did get one for the crazy spend $1000 get points promotion. The information says it is not targeted. I didn’t have trouble signing up for it but I haven’t tried it yet. Sounds like people have had difficulty with it going through in the past on different promotions...that does make me a little nervous.

I didn’t have trouble signing up for it but I haven’t tried it yet. Sounds like people have had difficulty with it going through in the past on different promotions...that does make me a little nervous.

Thank you! We do have the Hyatt Visa . I guess I'll be planning a trip to the HyVee to buy some Target cards for next year's DVC dues. Sadly, we have no plans to go to WDW until maybe the end of the year.

Yes. I wait until early December to take advantage of the special 10% off target gift cards. At that point I buy Target gift cards with Target gift cards (YMMV - I've had only one problem doing this and the cashier went ahead and tried it and it went through) and then when those Target gift cards are activated I will use them to buy Disney gift cards. It does mean that I have to sit on the Target gift cards for 10 months before I used them but I'll be able to use my $300 Target cards to purchase $333 Target Cards. I also get 30-cents off per gallon of gas from the grocery store. My Prius has a 10=gallon tank so that's another $3. So, my total outlay would be $270 and I'll get $336 out of it or $66 savings ... eventually.

Please post any data points if you use it to buy disney GC and if it posts as groceries. I'm thinking about doing a small gift
card purchase just to see if it posts correctly.

It all depends on when you need the Disney cards. I won't need any until I pay my DVC dues next December/January.

Do you go through self checkout? I bought 3-300 ones. I have no idea when i will need them as i just hoard them.

Did you read my link? Yes, I used self checkout. No one cared. I saved 17.5% last year.

I would save 20.43% on this $300. I calculated my gas savings wrong.

I would spend $270 (with Visa credit on $300)
I would receive in value: $6 in gas and $333.33 in (eventually) Disney gift cards for a total of $339.33

$270/339.33 = 79.57% or a discount of 20.43%

With my luck by the time December rolls around they might stop the buying gift cards with cards.

I worry about that every year! Good luck getting gift cards for your cruise . I'm planning a cruise too but I don't want to pay DCL prices even with 20% off!
