Disney Gift Card Deals

I had the $15 off Sam's Club on a $30 purchase on four amex cards and it ended up working out -- but it was a hassle. I bought three $40 sam's club gift cards as separate orders, and then made one $30 order, for a $10 and $20 gift card. So, $90 out of pocket for $150 worth of sam's club gift cards. I used $140 worth of the gift cards (you can only use 4 max), plus $4, to buy $150 worth of disney gift cards. So, total outlay was $94, and for that I got $150 in disney gift cards, plus a $10 sam's club gift card that can be used at wal-mart. Not bad. As a percentage basis, probably my best haul on a small scale for disney gift cards.

The problem was that the sam's club gift cards don't come ready to use -- you need to authorize them. 4 of the 5 worked fine, but one of them was a hassle. It took 3 weeks and multiple phone calls. Anyway, it worked eventually, which I guess is the important part, and I did it all from my desktop.

Can you tell us what you finally did to get the card to work. I am in the same boat, where one of the cards wouldn't activate and I have also called numerous times, always getting promised someone would call back, and of course no one ever does.

I don't know which call or chat did it. I just eventually got an email telling me the card had been authorized. I was on the verge of disputing the purchase with Amex.

ChasePay promo for 10x on CSRs finally seems to be coding right! A DP on Reddit and 2 DPs on the credit card thread (one was mine) of it coding 10x if the purchase was made starting in the last few days. (As for those who purchased last week those are still sitting at 1x, Chase told my fam member they'll get the 9x bonus points in the next 1-2 billing cycles.)

That works, but I would advise paying the bill every few days, to make sure you don't go over the charging threshold where they charge your card. You can keep track of your running room balance on the app.
One more thing to add: if Disney does charge your credit card before you have a chance to use your gift cards, ask them to credit your account. While it might take a while for the credit to show up, it will, and you won't waste your gcs. This happened to us, and the credit showed up 2 days later! I was HAPPY!

Agree this works!!!

In this weekend's circulars, I saw 2 offers. First was from Proctor and Gamble; you buy $30 worth of P&G products in one transaction, and they will send you a $10 Visa gift card. Details here: https://www.pgwinningthiswinter.com/

The second one was advertised in the CVS circular, and was for Kimberly-Clark products. You need to spend $20 on select products, and they will send you a $5 Disney gift card. Details are supposed to be at www.growupyoung.com, but when I went there, it said that the offer doesn't start until Feb 1.

For the Giant/Stop & Shop $20 offer, how does it work? You Buy a $100 Best Buy gift card and $20 worth of groceries at the same time?

Yes the first time I did one of these I thought it was the buy $100 gift card get a coupon for $20 off your next order, since those were prevalent at the time. So I goofed. I was confused when no coupon printed but then I went back and read it again and realized my mistake. So you buy the gift card in the same transaction as at least $20 of groceries and you get $20 off the transaction.

Looks like no longer available.
I'm thinking that since they put the offer for 1/31 - 2/6, they've got to be restocking. Wouldn't make any sense if they put out the offer, knowing it'd be popular, but only did such a limited amount it was out in a few hours or less, when it was meant to run for the week. I'm definitely gonna keep a close watch for when they hopefully restock it!
@bbsearchlight Thx for the heads up on this offer!

I knew the Kroger deal would sell out fast, but it went in a matter of minutes - not hours. I placed 3 separate orders for 1 gift card each (since the limit was 3). The sent me the first gift card but cancelled my next 2 orders, claiming they couldn't verify my credit card info. No shocker, as Kroger uses gift card mall for their gift cards and gift card mall is well known for cancelling orders right and left.

Also at Stop & Shop this coming week (2/2 - 2/8), they are offering a $5 or $10 Disney gift card when purchasing $20 or $40 of participating items (see last page of circular). Can stack with the Best Buy gift card/$20 off promotion.REGPREMIERE_2283x119.jpg

Are you just buying them for the Best Buy card or can you convert the Best Buy card to a Disney card? I have a best buy gift card that I got for trading in my phone. They would not let me buy a Disney gift card in the store or online. Am I missing something?

Just a reminder that if you are planning on buying Disney tickets, the annual price increase will probably be taking place within the next few weeks so you want to buy them now. Tickets purchased now are good through December 31, 2018. I assume that once the annual price increase takes place, they will extend the expiration through the end of 2019.

Also, if you do have an expired ticket, you can use it to purchase a new ticket by just paying the increase in price from the price you paid for your old ticket. If the old ticket is attached to your my Disney account, you can purchase the new ticket over the phone (In the past, the only way to do it was at the Disney ticket window at the Park).

I had an expired ticket with remaining days from 2002. When we were at the park in Sept the cast member made no mention of being able to use the ticket to purchase a new one. She did give me a new hard plastic card that I was able to add to my Disney account. It has one park hopper day remaining. So I can call and trade it into say a 2 day regular ticket?
