Disney Gift Card Deals

I'll also post in a more appropriate thread but for those buying Disney gift cards (myself with discounted Target gift cards to be bought on December 4) to use to buy AP's with a 13 month usage, I just called Disney and was told that the January 3 deadline to buy has been extended to October 1, 2017. In other words, to last the whole year of Disney World's 45 the anniversary. That means I can upgrade my tickets in July and that will cover half of the cost of 2 AP's.

For those that use Shopkicks I just noticed on the app there are a ton of stores that are doing 200 kicks for walk ins on Thursday and Friday (Target, Walmart, Macy's, Best Buy to name a few).
Of course, that's when we'll be visiting family! But I have foudn that if you drive by the store slowly, you can still get walk-in shopkicks.. Maybe I will be able to do that.

I stopped actively following this thread for a while and just picked back up a couple weeks ago. With many of the previous "churning" channels now closed, I thought 10% to be a decent deal. Target GCs + Red Card. Gone. Game Stop GCs to other GCs. Gone. Buying GC on eBay. Gone. What am I missing?
If you have a Sams membership, you can get discounted Disney cards at about 5% off. Once the ebay churn died, I started actively using the Swagbucks site, and turning the bucks into Walmart and Sams gift cards, to be used to buy Disney. And while I am getting fewer gcs now, I have laid out less money out of pocket.

Another trick I've learned is Shopkicks will award you kicks for scans of items from other stores within a 1 mile radius. So if I'm at Target and finished with my list of scans there, I'll check the scan lists for other stores within 1 mile to see if there are scannable items that Target also sells and that I can scan while I'm there.

So, I did the Staples deal on three different cards, each on a different AMEX account - MILs, mine, DFs. I ordered $100 Target eCards.

All eCards were received while the charges were still pending. On MILs account the Staples charge went through, and the AMEX credit hit. On Df's card, the Staples charge is still pending. On my card, my Staples charge has now disappeared...

Last year the GC deal worked from open to close and the cards were not activated until the next day. the system does not track how many GCs you buy. as long as the cashier is ok with it, you can do as many separate transactions as you want.

For some reason, two BestBuy .com orders for Disney gift cards were cancelled, even though I added a non gift card item and paid with a combination of Best Buy gift cards and a credit card. Has always worked for me in the past. Not sure what's going on. I ended up buying a $100 Disney GC in-store and had no problem paying 100% with a BestBuy GC.

BTW, it was a bittersweet moment since I used the very last of our Ebay/Target/GameStop/Best Buy/Walgreens churn proceeds to buy this $100 Disney gift card. DS and I started this churn in October 2015, each contributing $250. For our $500 "investment" we ended up with:

Disney Gift Cards: $3,630
Starbucks Gift Cards: $105
Cash used for resort deposit: $200

Using a combination of discounted gift cards, airline miles, and credit card rewards/points, I estimate that we're saving an average of 69.6% off rack rates/regular price for all elements of our trip.

Those are great returns!

On a related note, I also had trouble with BB .com cancelling my Disney GC orders yesterday when I tried paying with my Amex (Offer) and BB GCs (from Shopkicks). I tried ordering 3 times with pickup set for 2 different stores, and all were cancelled. The cancellation emails said they could not verify my information, even though I had my Amex billing info attached to the order. I haven't run into this problem before when paying for a part of my order with a CC. I finally went to one of the BBs after work to make the purchase in person, keyed in my BB Rewards number and scanned Shopkicks, no problem. I casually checked that store's GC rack and didn't notice any $50 Disney GCs out, which is what I ordered for pickup, so I wonder if BB .com says they were in stock but the store couldn't find any to set aside?

I am sure its somewhere in this 1200+ page thread but can you explain the basics of the churn you are talking about?

Cheers!

Ditto on their weird CC charging. We got all our cards, I'm just assuming it will straighten out when the charges actually post.

Do you still get 4x rewards when buying a Visa $100 gift card at Kroger when they are doing the 4x promo? Then do you still get the 4x rewards using that visa to buy another gift card? Thanks! Have not checked in a while to see if this churn is dead too.

Mine disappeared for awhile too after pending for a few days but then showed back up. Credit took another day or so to appear. That was on my card. Still waiting for dh's GC to 'ship'.

For those with the Verizon AmExp offer, where are you buying a GC? I cannot find it on verizonwireless.com.
