Disney Gift Card Deals

DO NOT DO THIS! You will get banned by eBay. They do not look favorable on buying from related parties and they do know somehow. Years ago, my mom was selling something on eBay and decided she didn't want to sell it. She asked me to bid a ridiculous amount because it was too late to cancel. I did and when the auction ended we both got notices and warnings. They called it shill bidding I think (trying to run the price up by having someone you know place a bid). EBay and PayPal are both very fickle and will ban you.

You don't even need him to sell you a Target card. He could sell you a weather rock.
...
It all seems fine, however I'd bet Ebay watches for things like this and it would be grounds for termination of your accounts. Don't know.

Liked for originality and laughs, but I agree with @kool_kat, it's shill bidding. Years ago, my friend used multiple accounts to heat up bidding and inflate the final price on his auctions. It didn't take eBay long to figure things out and shut down his accounts. If you want to try this, you'll have to find someone much more distantly related (and even located) than your husband or parent.

When I go on to target.com, the $50 Disney cards have the add to cart button, but the $100 ones have an "unavailable" button. However, if I click on it anyway it and it opens the page for the $100 card it does have an "add to cart".
think it'll let me buy them? Does anyone else see it this way?
I saw the same thing, and I was able to load a $100 card into my box. Not sure I want to exit into Disney cards yet, so I didn't go further.

Welp...

I finally hit my Ebay bucks max for the quarter. I'm glad I can relax for the moment until July. No more stopping at Gamestop (I'm pretty sure the employees know me as the gift card guy, haha).

Here's to the end of the quarter coming up. Good luck to those who are almost at the max! pixiedust:

I just used one of my BB gift cards on their website to buy ebay cards. Easy Peasy, but the largest card they have is for $50. Not the most convenient amount, but it will work.
Wish it was as easy to get BB cards as it is to use them.

I had the choice of free delivery or pickup. Since they predicted delivery for next Thurs (!), I opted for pickup.

I thought I'd do a little test today with PPDG. I was thinking maybe the issue was tied to the high volume type cards we are trying to purchase (such as BB or GS). So, I tried to purchase a $50 Claim Jumper card for my husband for Father's Day (yes, I'm running behind...) and I still get the "something went wrong, try to purchase again" message. I get this message on my daughter's account, which is the one that gets the promos, and paypal is unlinked. So, I tried on my account, which has never gotten a promo, so I haven't used it for PPDG. I get the same message. I don't even get to the verification loop or the part where I can sign into my paypal. I just get shut down. I don't get it.

Gah! I'm on the phone with PayPal now. She tells me to click to request an invoice from the seller. Ummm.... I told you I can't even get to that screen! Yikes! She finally transferred me to someone else. Hopefully that will help. It amazes me how many clueless people are employed by PayPal.

edit: she basically dropped me back into the phone system, so now someone else is trying to help. Funniest thing, I get the "suspicious activity" email WHILE I'm on the phone with them. She lifted the limitation and it still doesn't work so now she is transferring me to eBay.

update: eBay can't find anything wrong either. He had me unlink PP again. He now told me to wait a couple hours and try again. He is going to call me back to try to figure it out.

My opinion? They should ban PPDG and get another authorized seller of digital gift cards.

Went to my local Kmart today, used the 100 Sears GC (from the $85 deal). Grabbed two $50 Ebay GC, I also bought some other items as well. I gave the cashier, young kid, the gift card and said here is $100 on this, I'll put the remaining balance on my debit card. He hesitated and said he'd have to ask, because someone yesterday came in "with a Sears card" (later clarified it was the Sears credit card) and bought $800 worth of pre-paid Visas. He confirmed they let that person conduct the transaction, but he still wanted to check. I said OK. He went to the older cashier next to our checkout, I am getting super nervous, lady in line behind me is looking annoyed as she only had ONE single roll of TP to purchase (?). Looks like the other cashier didn't really know but said to give it a try. So he said he'd try it, and it went through no issues. WHEW! If I get a good deal again on Sears, I'll look for that kid behind the counter!!

ETA: Forgot to mention, we used our Kmart Shop your way or whatever rewards that were accumulated (66 cents) and also got points for our purchase. Then a coupon reward printed out, it is for 20 CENTS OFF A GALLON at BP!! 20 Gal max. Apparently by spending over $50 bucks we earned the reward. WINNING!!

I left them neutral feedback and said: " Ea purchase w/PPDG more&more difficult. Each sale 4verifies,&then may not go thru" and "VERY difficult to get purchases completed with this seller. Server problems?" I should feel guilty because they left me stellar feedback, but if I can't buy from them any more, it doesn't matter much.

Maybe if they get enough neutral/negative feedback they will get the problem fixed.

I'm becoming convinced that the issue is in the PPDG account on eBay. They have a bad line of code, or a switch flipped that is causing these issues. But, the phone reps are not the ones who have the access to check that stuff. We just have to hope that the right person will eventually get word of the issue and fix it.

Why is purchasing $800 on their credit card ruining anything for anyone? It's graduation time, that could have easily been a graduation gift.
True, although most people just give cash because of the fee that they charge you for activating the Visa pre-paid cards.

Credit card transactions for gift cards are usually not allowed because of scammers with stolen credit cards. This raises eyebrows (especially $800 worth) within the store managers and raises the chance the employee has to ask the manager if "it's okay" for the next consumer, which could possibly be us.

That's awesome! I'd still like to max out my ebucks but it's probably not real likely, particularly for both my and DD25's acct. I had enough to churn to do so but missed yesterday's sale due to PPDG(ugh, tried to do 900 BB there and by the time I gave up, I couldn't buy anything at all with the server access denied thingy). Another i was out of town, and another sale I hadn't received my gcs back from the previous weeks' sale. I'd probably do okay on one account with one more sale at at least 4x (hopefully 5x) but would need another to help DD'S account along some more probably.

Of course, my one set of GS physical cards showed up today, one day after the flash sale. Still waiting on another order from last week, too. Neither the one I received or that I'm waiting on shows as shipped yet!

So you ordered online at BB? Did you have to add anything else to your order to get it to go through and not cancel as has happened to some? I hesitate to do BB to eBay gcs this way first, because it's just so easy in store to purchase the loadable cards. And secondly don't wanna get it cancelles, lol. Be because the $50 gcs will be a bit more if a pain. But, getting some ebates this way definitely makes it more attractive for sure!

But, getting some ebates this way definitely makes it more attractive for sure!

I have done two BB orders of ebay GCs. Did not receive ebates for either one so that seems to be YMMV. Oh, and I did add an item (disney infinity character, planning to buy already) to each of my orders. Still no ebates!

Hmm interesting, but that stinks you didn't get the ebates! But now confused a bit, lol. I thought the having to add an item to your online BB order was so that the order wouldn't get cancelled. And I thought others were saying they got Ebates. I'll probably stick with going in store if no Ebates. But, maybe I'll try an order sometime just to see.

On my two successful BB orders with the add on item, I received Ebates on the full amount but I paid with a combination of gift cards and a credit card. I used the BB gift cards to cover the full amount of the Disney gift cards and my credit card covered the cost of the add on item. Not sure if that made the difference.

An update....

I just got off the phone with the eBay rep (he called me back!). I'm still not able to make a purchase from PPDG. We tried a bunch of stuff, but no go. I think I got the message through that the problem is with PPDG. He is going to take the issue to his manager and the other reps to see what can be done. I mentioned the feedback showing that others are having the same issue. He said that if they can see a trend they will do what they can to put an end to it. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I will hold out some hope that maybe, just maybe, this problem can be fixed for all of us.
