Bought $500 in BB GC from PPDG without hitch. Left work to run to BB and hope to do a quick flip. Out of Ebay GCs.

Will have to go this weekend to one of my other options. I was really hoping to flip the same $500 twice.

I have one more Kmart to test and if successful, I will buy some more later today. I have 3 near me (Cash only | Gc for GC but closing | untested)

I also bought $500 in GS cards that I will try to unload tonight and flip them again.

My 3rd Kmart store allowed me to buy GC with GC. They didn't have Ebay so I just got Disney. But, getting activated cards was an issue. After finally getting the transaction to go through, they handed me the receipt. It charged me for 2 $50 Disney GCs that failed activation and depleted my Sears GC. So went to the front desk and they scanned the Disney Cards and said they were fine.
So the trusting person that I am, I pulled out my phone and checked the balance online. I entered the GC number to check the balance and kept returning 'There is a problem with your card. Please call the number on the back."
I then asked for a manager and explained to him and showed him the receipt that said failed. He then rang up 2 more GCs as a cash purchase and that worked and gave them to me. He kept the others, obviously.

So I think my Kmart days are over.

I'm not sure what to do for an exit strategy if I can't order anything through PPDG. I was going to Best Buy, but now it seems that GS is the only way to go and they don't sell Disney. hmmmm.....

My exit strategy always evolves. My current one is to buy gold/silver bullion during a 10% bonus. Then sell that to my local bullion dealer. I should be able to keep 90-95% of my GC balance.

Thought: What if I happened to find a good looking and honest eBay seller of Target cards....say, my husband perhaps....and I decided to buy those from him and pay via paypal gift cards?

Someone tell me why this is a bad idea because I feel like I am missing something obvious.

Edit: Yikes. Ebay fees are steep! 10%. Ok maybe thats the big obvious thing I was missing...off to crunch some numbers (instead of laundry which I should be doing instead).

Edit part II: The only thing I would be gaining from that churn is ebates and the additional spending on our Ink credit card (around 10% if we get GC's from an office supply store). Maybe the 5% from Target online for the final cashout if they continue selling those. All in all probably not worth the hassle. Dang-- I really wanted to be onto something

Ebay rules not withstanding, but how can you be 100% sure some else doesn't purchase them before you. You would have to make them really unattractive, price wise. And that could also draw suspicion.

Totally depends. I'm doing the latter because my time is scarce and I don't like stress. To me the Kroger route is easy and fairly stress free and doesn't require any extra trips. I still can average about 20% savings this way and I'm good with that.

I will continue buying gift cards on eBay when they have sales and bonus eBay bucks. But not for Disney vacations.

Amex Blue Preferred = 6%. Then I have a 20 gallon tank, so 8% when they are doing 4x fuel points. Buy online with redcard as default. So a $100 gift card had a net cost of $81.70. Then I use DVA ($20 bonus / $1,000 spent).

Thank you... we don't have the Preferred unfortunately, just regular Blue. We do fill up both vehicles though so I normally get the full 35 gallons (yes I am *that* person who makes him come and we pull up one car when the other is done filling up lol). I should probably hold off until they run the 4x points but we are crunching for time and I would rather know I have them now then worry later. We have already used 1 dollar off 35 gallons and I still have 7700 points lol

But then the only authorized ebay store with BB cards (PPDG) wouldn't allow me to buy cards. GRRRRRR.
I am going back to Cardpool/Raise/Cashcard -> Target -> (Disney). Right now I am holding my Target cards in hopes that they restock Ebay cards on their website.

There is a digital coupon now where I am for 4x fuel points through Sunday. But if you have 7,700 points you might want to wait (I only use 3,000-4,000/month).

I am going to try and buy the rest next month so our points hold us over through August. I didn't know about the coupon, thanks!

I don't know if this will be of use to anyone, but I thought I'd share. I bought a bookcase from Wayfair through Sears Marketplace with the discounted Sears gift cards I bought from SVM. I got $300 in cards for $255 + $20 in Ebay Bucks and $7.55 in ebates. Plus I went through ebates to buy the bookcase and got another $18. I also somehow got $53 in Shop Your Way points which I'm using on Lands End clothes. If I had started with an Ebay gift card purchased at Kroger (didn't have time to get one), this would have really been a crazy deal.

When I go on to target.com, the $50 Disney cards have the add to cart button, but the $100 ones have an "unavailable" button. However, if I click on it anyway it and it opens the page for the $100 card it does have an "add to cart".
think it'll let me buy them? Does anyone else see it this way?

You don't even need him to sell you a Target card. He could sell you a weather rock. He lists it for $1000 or whatever amount you're trying to cash out. You buy it, pay w your EBay GCs. Those are gone -- Great. Do this when you get 8% Ebucks plus Ebates. Now husband gets paid in the form of Paypal funds (not GCs). However, he owes 10%-12% to Ebay/Paypal which he'll get billed for at the end of the month.

To make it less shady than to sell a rock you could sell an Xbox or other valuable object. You'll lose those Paypal fees on the sale, but make Ebucks and Ebates. There is no profit... just a loss, but barely so if you can get high Ebucks and you wouldn't otherwise get those and you don't mind paying fees now to recoup them later.

It all seems fine, however I'd bet Ebay watches for things like this and it would be grounds for termination of your accounts. Don't know.
