Disney Gift Card Deals

Not sure but I got in the mail today a target coupon $15 off $100 and it specifically says I can use with my 5% discount and there is nothing on it about not using for third party gc. I thought maybe this was their Memorial Day promo.

I got the same coupon, but I just doubt it will work on gift cards even if the fine print doesn't say so. I just bought some patio furniture this week too, so I was a little sad this didn't arrive sooner. It is good for a month though, so maybe I will find a use.

I need to recheck the mail - if hubs gets to it first, I am out of luck if he deems something junk

So what do we all think right now? If we have eBay gift cards, should we sit on them or cash out somehow?

Can someone comfirm to me that I am, in fact, engaging in a fruitless endeavor? First, a little background on myself and my churn.

I just started this, with a trip on the near horizon. I already have the cash to pay off the trip. So, I am still in the process of finding my churn OOP. What I'm doing is churning, and then buying Disney cards to immediately replace the funds I put in. Once I have a comfortable amount churning, with all initial capital repaid, I will "churn with reckless abandon!"

So, my basic path is SB->Raise->GS->EBay->BB or GS

At the end, GS is back to eBay, and BB is eBay or Disney.

With Target out of the loop, for me, for now, I'm racking my brain trying to figure out how to get a Walmart GC into the cycle at the usual spots (GS BB, Sears, etc). I don't have a Kroger, Publix, or Any other grocery chain mentioned here.

So, how can I insert Walmart into my churn? Amazon? I didn't find it there. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Sounds okay. But the BB part is thru PPDG, which will lock your account. So there isn't a good cycle.

And all you're really churning for is your initial discount, and then some EBucks. There isn't a good value in that churn. So overall, I think it sucks. :) It's the best out there, but is high risk, time-consuming, and requires multiple physical store trips for little gain.. mostly just some EBucks in a few months. If you would otherwise get EBucks by other spending, definitely not worth it. Even if you get an 8%, but pay $8 in shipping on a $600 order, you're only making $40 (paid in 2 months, yet you have to front the $8 and gas money, now) for several hours of work with lots of places it can go wrong and waste more time.

I tried PPDG and it worked ok when it works, but for now I'm sitting out till something worthwhile comes along. Once is enough to screw around w my Paypal account!

So what do we all think right now? If we have eBay gift cards, should we sit on them or cash out somehow?

If you don't need the money, I would wait. I have a little left in GS and EBay I was planning to turn via PPDG, but not going there any more. I'm just sitting tight. Maybe I'll flip the GS into Amazon or something I can spend elsewhere.

Flip a coin.

It really is up to you. If you're an optimist, you might be holding onto hope that GCM will restock Target GCs and maybe even that Target .com will start selling eBay GCs again. In that case, hold onto your ebay GCs.

But if you're of the belief that the old way of churning is dead and that going through eBay is not going to work in your favor anymore, then I guess that it's time to use those eBay GCs in whatever way you can.

If you're like me, you still see opportunity to churn, albeit at a slower rate and with more effort. And the churning still goes through eBay.

I took a look at all the gift cards ebay has left in the Graduation sale. Most are with SVM, so that would be a good use of ebay cards. Staying away from the 6 that are sold by PPDG! The Barnes and Noble $100 cards for $88 are tempting, but I would like them more if B&N stocked gift cards I could churn!

I don't think I'm ever going to bow out of churning as my absolute worst case scenario is to buy something with high resale value (game consoles, I pad etc.) from whatever GC I'm stuck with and sell it back on ebay for cash back. I probably will net some loss and it would take a little more work, but the gains from ebay bucks are worth it for me.
Might be something to think about for those of you that are thinking about jumping ship.
I really like this idea. I had some vague thoughts about what I would do if I got "stuck" with BB or GS GCs. First option could be to sell the cards to a GC reseller site and take the ~12-17% hit. Or, I'd buy some item(s) with a high resale value (I also thought iPad or game console) and liquidate it on eBay. I'd prefer to be "stuck" with eBay GCs because I'm still hopeful that GCM will eventually restock Target GCs, and we can all somewhat get back to the normal routine; but alternatively I'd buy something with a high resale value on eBay (I often see new iPads marked down on eBay) and flip it back to cash out. I forgot about pairing the alternative strategy with eBay Bucks to offset any difference in sale price and costs of sale.
I have to say to both of you, I agree with and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the churning and ways to back out if you end up stuck. I think so far we are doing similar churning with the GS and BB, and doing more than small amounts at this time. Sometimes you just need someone to say look at it this way, you could do this. I hadn't thought of this idea of buying then selling high resale items, thru ebay, (still making ebucks?), or possibly selling to gc sites, if that fails. Good outs that seem quite feasible, at least in theory, lol. And these are better than my vague thoughts so far, lol.
Hopefully Target will enter back in and things will get a bit easier, that would be awesome! Sad thing is, as another poster said, none of this is illegal or fraudulent but we keep hitting road blocks lately.

...
Past promos I was locked out of PayPal and eBay completely on my own account and since the last time I was locked out I have not received one promo on that account. If that remains the case I will cash out the earned ebucks there and close it and reopen another. I feel like it's been flagged.....
My account had been seemingly locked out back in April but eventually it was fixed. My account did still receive promo offers after that.

.... After two orders cancelled I added a small non gift card item to my order and it went through without a problem. Not sure if it was a coincidence though. Was nice to get Ebates on the entire order even though they say they exclude gift cards.
I just cashed out some of my bestbuy cards for disney online. I added a movie for my husbands birthday. I just got the text that the order is ready and I got ebates on the full amount.
I like this idea and hadn't thought of this, I think once I finally will be going into cash out for some Disney cards closer to my trip, I'll try online ordering and with an extra little something. Good way to get some extra ebates!
Yes, I went in yesterday to check, and they have a huge gift card section, including eBay gift cards.
Are you thinking of just buying gc's here? Where would the savings come in? Are there Joanne Fabrics gc's at ebay?

So what do we all think right now? If we have eBay gift cards, should we sit on them or cash out somehow?
I can't say for you or anyone else, but for me at the moment, I'm still churning. I have time till my next trip in Nov, so time to see how things go for awhile. Been doing the Ebay to GS or BB, and then back again for another round next promo that comes. Not ready to cash out yet. I am optimistic about Target coming back to GCM or similar thru ebay, at least at this time. We'll see I guess. So in the meantime, I'm churning and making some ebucks. Luckily for me, so far, my GS and BB are working very easily. Left my GS tonight pretty happy with things, went so smoothly, fast and easy. I used the physical GS gc's I received in the mail today from last week's promo. I don't have any account or rewards signed up there, and after reading here I'm glad I didn't add that. Same so far with my BB trips, they've been fast, friendly and easy. It's just that stupid PPDG getting in the way, lol! Ugh!! I did try my rewards my other two trips, but will not do so anymore for any purchases so hopefully they won't connect me to anymore purchases.

Minniekins, I don't know how to reply to your one response to me without replying to the entire post.

GCM sells Joanne's gift cards....GCM>Joanne's>eBay......

I just don't know if they allow gift card to gift card purchase. I may just bight the bullet and try with a $25 gift card.

I bought a $100 B&N card for $88 once, figured I can always use books if it didn't work to buy gift cards. B&N don't sell other gift cards, but I found a use for it- I sold it on eBay! I had created an eBay account for DH in an attempt to get more Bucks offers, and he got an offer of a $25 coupon if he sold something within a certain amount of time, then a $10 coupon for selling as well. The B&N gift card sold for $91, I shipped for free (used tracking so it cost me $4) and lost money on the sale ($91-$4 to ship- eBay fees on something I paid $88 for), but gained $35 in eBay coupons, plus the Bucks (bought during a promo) and ebates from the initial purchase.

I just unsuccessfully tried to redeem Gamestop Powerup rewards for another $25 Fuelcircle gas card. It says...
Redemption of reward was unsuccessful and no points were deducted. Please contact customer service if you have any questions by e-mailing PowerUp@gamestop.com or calling (877) 676-GAME.

I think it's been less than a week since last Fuelcircle redemption.

What approach are you taking now?
There are a couple of approaches.

One of them would be the GS -> eBay <-> BB -> Disney GC method, although I'm reluctant to go through PPDG using eBay GCs too many times. So, I'll probably buy something on eBay and then turn it into cash. Then use the cash to purchase BB GCs from PPDG.

Another route would be to do GS <-> eBay -> BB -> Disney GC but going thru GCM to purchase physical GS GCs in order to avoid PPDG as much as possible.

The problem with those scenarios is that it relies heavily on GS, which is a merchant that I don't patronize normally. For that reason alone, I would not be putting the large amount through my churning that I did in previous months. And since I have been using GCs that I earned from rewards programs to "fund" my churning, if I get stuck with GS GCs and have to liquidate them at a loss, I'm still ahead of the game. I don't know if I would be quite as willing to do this if the cash were coming from my vacation fund.

And finally, are GCs that are sold for less than face value on eBay. If I purchase them during an eBucks promotion, I can sell them to Cardpool or at a Coinstar kiosk for a small profit.

If you used part of the balance of the balance on a purchase it is "tied" to that PP account. With those accounts closed any money tied would be gone. I had a total of $30 tied up
Got it, thanks. I have always made it a point to use the entire gc at once if I'm going to use one,to avoid any problems later.
