So they won't let you use your Ebay GCs because you can't have a Paypal account anymore. Did they say they would refund you the value of your GCs. I doubt they will.
You have 2 options:

1. You could file in small claims in your community court against EBAY and Paypal. They will have to send a lawyer to address which will cost them more than $500.
2. File a complaint with your states Attorney General. Each state has laws regarding Gift Cards.

In my state, Massachusetts, the retailer is fined $300 per card for not redeeming the gift card.

I'm in MA too. I think it would be easier to bow out now and sell my EBay GC's to Raise or something. I literally made SO much money following this board. Not a penny out of my own pocket. I cashed out 1500 In hotels.com gc's just recently so we will have a free hotel in Aruba this fall. I've always heeded the warning that things could blow up so I've been prepared!!

They totally locked you out? My lockout seems to have resolved itself overnight. At least I can get to the cart page that I couldn't last night.

Yes it asked for a photo ID, I sent it in and then got an email my account was closed. I thought just locked out but when I talked to them she said we need to "part ways" and I cant use my account. DH's account has same message. I can see my activity etc but can't use it at all in any way.

Oh man! That really sucks! I would be sick over having that kind of money tied up and being effectively told I had no way to spend it. At least you can sell the eBay GCs if you don't have them tied to the now-defunct PP accounts.

How would you know if they are tied to your paypal or not? Say for example I have $100 ebay gc that I purchased from Target still in my hand, and my paypal gets cut off- are they tied in any way to paypal yet?
also FWIW, as for ebates.... my groupon/ebates issue never got resolved- I asked,they politely replied(at least they replied) that it was up to the store to log the purchase to them. At any rate it's moot now b/c I had to return the item,size was all wrong... never had ebates issues in the past,and I used them quite a bit to 'mix up' purchase types and stores....

Partially-used eBay GCs are tied to the PP account that you used during the checkout process, even if you paid for the purchase entirely with GCs.

If you used part of the ebay GC it is tied to your account. If you haven't used any money from in it, then it is not.

If you used part of the balance of the balance on a purchase it is "tied" to that PP account. With those accounts closed any money tied would be gone. I had a total of $30 tied up

Yeah, if I'm following correctly and PayPal closes your account, that makes eBay gift cards associated with your account worthless???

Umm a lot, but not an exorbitant amount. Maybe with each ebucks offer about $500? Yes closed BOTH accounts. I'm pretty sure all the verifications had them look closer at my acccount. Since DH's is tied to the same checking they closed both. I'm so pissed.

I've been churning around $1,200 every single promo through physical GS giftcards, not through PPDG and I haven't even been locked out yet. In fact, I'm almost at my $500 ebay bucks limit for the quarter.

For all those churning through PPDG, you might want to stay away.

Yes if you have a partial balance. Luckily most of my gcs were small balances $50 and I spent the whole balance so only $30 lost. Be very careful with PPDG

Exactly. No PPDG. I'm so annoyed I went for it but the BB churn was working so nicely! I think the verifications PPDG triggered caused them to look at my account and cut me off.

4 types of payment so you either have 3 gc and paid the left over with cc. Or you need enough to cover 100% of your flight and fees.

Keep in mind if you have travel funds it's still a max of 4 per purchase. I had travel funds from a flight that went down in price 3 times. I also had a GC. I could only use the GC + 3 of the travel funds so I lost $8 in travel funds that I couldn't use.

Gift cards have to be honored one way or another. A retailer cannot sell you a GC and not allow you to use it. There are federal and state laws protecting you.

I don't think I'm ever going to bow out of churning as my absolute worst case scenario is to buy something with high resale value (game consoles, I pad etc.) from whatever GC I'm stuck with and sell it back on ebay for cash back. I probably will net some loss and it would take a little more work, but the gains from ebay bucks are worth it for me.

Might be something to think about for those of you that are thinking about jumping ship.

Yikes! It never even occurred to me that PayPal could close my account for using too many vouchers. I've heard of people getting warned for purchasing more than the limit of the daily deals, but not for this.

Yesterday I was able to place a $500 PPDG order for Best Buy GC with one text to verify the device since I was using my work computer, and a second text asking me if I was trying to make a payment right now. After that, the transaction went through fine. Received gift cards in 40 minutes, just in time to take them to Best Buy on my lunch hour. Purchased a $500 eBay gift card. The cashier hesitated for just a split second, but it seemed to me that time stood still for a long time. But then he scanned each voucher and everything was fine. Back at work I purchased $1000 in physical GS gift cards from GCM. After work I stopped by Target and converted $600 of my Target gift cards to eBay, going through the self-checkout. Worked flawlessly. I was home by 5:00pm in time to make one more $500 BB gift card purchase, again going through the same two text verifications that I did earlier. Was able to make $160 in eBay bucks, but we still haven't hit the quarterly maximum on either mine or DS accounts. It may be time to call it quits. When the GS gift cards arrive, I'm cashing those out to Disney. I've used $20K of eBay cards since October 2015, but just recently used PPDG for $1,275 in orders. I was worried about getting banned by Target, but even if I had, I knew I still had a way to convert my Target GC to eBay. But if I get permanently locked out from PayPal, I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of eBay GC that I can't use and can only sell at a discount on Raise.

I never thought I'd get banned either! Tread lightly with PPDG like if your in the verification process more than 2x just bow out.

What are the places where you can buy Disney gift cards with store cards? I have seen people do that GS, Tgt and Kmart. Are there any others? With Tgt and PPDG potentially going away, I want to make sure there's still a way to end up with Disney cards.
