I bought a $500 ebay gift card today at my local Shop N Save (the St Louis area chain) to get the 5% back through my Chase Freedom before buying $500 in BB gift cards for the 8% promotion.

When I got looking at my receipts from the store, there was a $5 off your next purchase printout with everything. I looked it up online and they are having a grads and dads promotion running through June 19th where if you buy certain gift cards for at least $50 you get $5 off your next purchase. Online, it doesn't list ebay as a participating brand, but obviously it kicks out the coupon.

The good news is that I got $5 extra off that I didn't know I was going to get. The bad news is that I could have apparently split it up into $50 purchases and gotten $50 back for my $500 purchase instead of $5, so I lost $45.

But, I do think I'll be going back and getting some $50 ebay gift cards before the promotion ends. The only gift cards listed online as participating are Bloomin Onion, Nike, Bass Pro, Dominos, Groupon.

So, I don't know if there are others that qualify besides those and ebay, but ebay works for me!

First, I didn't ask if it could be done. I believe that a question like that immediately sends the employee to question whether or not it could/should be processed. I casually make it seem like I've done it before and it's expected to go through just like any other transaction, because it is. Second, I don't ask if gift card purchases are excluded from the rewards program. That gets them thinking that maybe something fishy is going on....

I missed this one too. I only had $100 in ebay that was ready to go. I am still waiting on a $500 Target GC to arrive and the $200 Target I already have is not yet converted to ebay b/c we have had so much going on and no time to get in Target. I really miss the old method. Really miss it.

The only store I know will allow a GC to GC purchase and also sells Disney is Target. All others seem to be YMMV...Walmart, Sears, Best Buy...I am not a Sam's Club shopper so hard for me to comment on that. I know they do sell Disney and it seems they do allow GC to GC purchases, but again, I am not 100% sure on that one.

Just tried to buy $100 BB on PPDG. Got the error and called for the first time. Was told that I was flagged for fraud protection and that there is absolutely nothing they can do to over ride it? Is it worth it to call back. He really made me feel like a criminal!

Sorry they were so rude, but I would say always call back, I personally think it's definitely worth it and the ebucks I have gotten! That guy obviously didn't know what he was talking about. Mine has been flagged for fraud, too, and they have fixed it, more than once. I told them I was the one making the attempted purchases, they were protecting me from my own purchases! First time, back in April, it did take more like a day to get it totally fixed but now it's usually been while on the first call now. A pain, but still worth the ebucks so far.

I saw that listing as well, but was reluctant due to their very short history. You're right though, they look attractive to me. Not just for the free shipping but also because they're in IL which is much closer to me (in MI) than GCM so I'm sure they'd arrive faster. Looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. If all is well, they may become my physical GS vendor of choice.

This could be interesting to have another physical gc seller choice, and if from IL where I live and would hopefully then receive the gc's sooner! And, there is no shipping? Awesome, that's a nice little savings too!

So I guess I locked my account with PPDG. I was able to place my first order, but when attempting the second, it told me there was an error and to contact Paypal. If I leave it alone for a day or two, will it unlock on its own, or should I just bite the bullet and go ahead and call? Also, how long does it normally take to get the BB GC from PPDG? I'm hoping they won't cancel the first order since the second locked my account. Any suggestions? I was hoping to run by Best Buy tonight.

I'd call and get it unlocked. I got my BB gc's from PPDG in less than a half hour in my email. I don't think they'd cancel one because you couldn't put thru another. Don't think there is a limit anymore. I put thru $1000 last week and $500 today at PPDG.

Lovely. Well, every time I try it wants to verify and then it tells me there may be unauthorized attempts. I've had to reset my password half a dozen times. I'm done. I guess I'll just hold my breath and hope Target cards come back.

Did you call after resetting password? I had to do that last week but then called after since it still didn't send the payments thru. I always have them wait on the phone now while I try again. So far so good.

...Should I try to pay with all three or split the purchase up into 3 separate transactions so I am only using 1 e gc at a time??? What are you guys that are successful doing? BTW. I won't be churning like this again. If BB was very close I would but it's definitely not worth driving an hour RT.

I went in after I did the $400 BB last week and did that in one swoop on an Ebay loadable card. Then over the weekend I did the $600 I had been able to do on the promo last week as well. I ended up splitting equally for 2 $300 cards, but we did try to load the $100 onto the $400 card so I could have two $500 cards, but that didn't work so just decided on splitting equally. but, I didn't feel like I had to be sneaky or only a small $100 at a time.

...That's bonus promos every week since 4/20!

So I wanted to quick look at the thread here before work this afternoon. I had already peeked in earlier, just to see if there was a promo, then went back to bed, lol - no promo! As I'm trying to quick skim this afternoon, I see the thread is a few pages along and suddenly someone posts 8% Flash Sale! What?? Lol. So, I checked and I did not get this one, but DD25 did so that was great! So my $900 GS cards aren't arriving til tomorrow but my $1000 in BB cards are all in Ebay already. Plus, we had money we had left over from our DL trip two weeks ago we were gonna put in for churning for our Nov WDW trip and our trip there next year. I mean, since BB/GS churning is still working for us, I guess I'm gonna go for it. So, I quick tried to do the BB cards at PPDG but it told me that I'd need to use a different form of payment(was using gc's). After a couple tries of that I decided to the just buy $1000 in GS physical cards and made $80 plus $10 in ebates. Very cool!

Later on a work break, I tried BB for $500. Anyway, same message. But, this time I was trying to use my bank CC, not gc's, but still PPDG. (I only got that message when trying to use PPDG, not GCM for the GS). So, I called. He made some adjustments, but, problem again, tho a different one. It was only showing me my CC's attached to account, but not my bank account visa card that would come right out of bank account. But, he asked about the numbers and suddenly with something he said, I remembered that my bank had sent out new cards with the chips, so new account number. Then I realized my old cards weren't there anymore. So I added the new cards and it went thru just fine. So, another $40 in ebucks and $5 in ebates. Another successful churning day, very thankful for that!

Just tested my ebay and paypal accounts, and they are unfrozen. Mine may have been taken off line because I had removed my cookies and unlinked my accounts (things I did to try to get PPDG to accept ebay gift cards!) or it may have been because I kept adding and removing cards from by ebay cart, trying to find a combination that would work with gift cards. Oh well! At least I know I can use ebay again, even if the promotion is over.

I always use eBates and have generally received credits within 24 hours. The only time I didn't was when I made two eBay purchases in the same day. One credited but the second one did not. I didn't worry about it. Now, I bought a cooler from Target on Sunday and picked it up in the store and I haven't received credit. I bought $475 in BB from eBay on Thursday and have no credit. I bought another $500 yesterday...no credit, but it hasn't even been 24 hours yet.

At what point should I inquire about these purchases? The cooler purchase confuses me because in the past, I would get my eBates as soon as my item was ready for pick up. I am not sure about how the eBay purchases are working now. I know you are supposed to get 1% for gift card purchases, but is there an exclusion on eBates when you pay with a gift card? I don't want to submit a ticket for something I am not entitled to.

When I got home, I looked up their gift card policy and the only restriction I see was on "open loop" gift cards. When I looked that up, I still didn't understand the answer. I can usually find the answers to "the universe" on Google but not today. LOL

I think that you are getting a little ahead of yourself. It's only Tuesday. You haven't even been waiting a week. Even though most credits are made within 48 hours, eBates can take up to 30 days to award for a shopping trip. I wait at least 7 days before I submit a trouble ticket.

There is also a policy on the website that states you cannot buy a "Best Buy gift card with another Best Buy gift card." Since a Best Buy gift card is a closed loop gift card, your location is probably associating all other closed loop gift cards with that policy.

Yesterday I called for the first time and was told there was nothing they could do if their system blocked for fraud - no override. I ended up buying physical GS yesterday afternoon. Overnight, I got an email to verify my PayPal account. Did that this morning and changed my password. Just tried for a small $50 BB on PPDG and was blocked again. Am I the only one who has never gotten one through? I'm concerned that BB was to be my exit strategy being that they carry Disney and GS doesn't. Not sure what I'll do if I can't ever get a BB order through. Any advice?

Where are you funds invested now? Target GCs? eBay GCs? There are ways to work around this if you get creative and look outside of the box. But a lot will depend on where your money is and how much money you have tied up.
