Disney Gift Card Deals

Anyone else keeping the ebay page with the target gift cards up and refreshing it every so often? Hasn't helped, but I keep hoping.

Yes, I have been doing this all morning.

Yep, me too. So far, not helping. I'm kind of surprised. I really did expect a restock by now.

Oh, thank goodness....I thought I was alone in my insanity:crazy2:.

Fret not...I am about to leave for an appointment that will occupy me until 2pm...I'm sure that is when they will restock and sell out:headache:.

Do we have data on demand? It could very well be the supply was inadequate.

True that.

It's hard to say with so many variables in play here. GCM supply maybe couldn't keep up with the constant promos... We're heading into peak season in the parks... Demand might be at an all time high...

It just seems all too convenient that with the promos after the blog post, the Target cards have been selling out so unusually fast in all denominations.

If you look at the sale page, it shows that people were buying cards in bulk. http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item=252221451593&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2564
On the original "auction" page, it gives a number sold (over 80K), but that could be since these cards were first offered.
I'm pretty sure that the 80K number sold is how many they have sold since they created the listing. It has been steadily increasing over time. If you look at the last 100 sales from yesterday, you will see that there was little stock. Someone counted yesterday and said the last hundred sold was a little over 600 gift cards. That last hundred tracked from 6:55 am. So, even if we were to triple that number to account for the cards sold between 5 am and 7 am, that is still only 1800 cards. Based on the increase in the 80K number since the last promo last week, I'd say that 1800-2000 cards in stock is a good guesstimate of what they started with yesterday.

So, several different things could be happening:
1. The card manufacturer may be having difficulty keeping up with the increased demand.
2. Target may be limiting the number of cards they are allowing to be released at one time (or even just during promo periods).
3. GCM may be cutting back how many they release during promo periods so that they can keep up on the order fulfillment side.
4. GCM buyers may have messed up when ordering supply.
5. Any weird combination of things could cause issues in this process....

Whatever the reason, I REALLY hope they get more in stock today!

My DS and I need to spend one night in Atlanta near the Airport for a 5:30 am flight :crazy2: I'm looking to churn the money for the hotel. I read that someone uses hotels.com GCs. Can someone tell me where you get them from? eBay? Right now Swagbucks has a special on them.

From Swagbucks..."Save up to 40% on Hotels!

Save up to 40% during our Memorial Day sale + an extra 10% off select hotels with code SWAGBUCKS516. Shop now and earn 8 SB per dollar!* *Book by 5/15/16, Travel by 6/19/16. Only completed hotel stays are eligible for SB. You must complete your travel before you are eligible for SB. Please allow 30 days from the completion of your travel for your SB to appear in your account. Packages and Flights are not eligible for SB."

Is that the best way to go?

To help the waiting, I decided to place another order for Disney cards from Target. Now that GCM is being wonky, now Target is one the ball. Got a shipping confirmation in an hour on both accounts.

I also realized that I lost $300 (2 x $150 from Sam's) in Disney GCs somewhere. I compared the delivery info to my calendar and it was the same day that we were headed to a concert, so I vaguely remember seeing them on my porch as we hurried out the door. I just can't remember whether I brought them in the house or put them in the car with me since we were all ready late :headache: I've searched the house and still can't find them :sad2:

Ugh! That stinks!! I hope you find them soon!

Hmm, that one sounds pretty good. As someone mentioned earlier, you can also do a Hotels . com GCs from eBay to use with their 8% off and a cash back portal. Travelocity has also been having 15% sales pretty frequently, but idk if those are over. We need a hotel near Murfreesboro, TN (halfway point) so I've been looking for a good deal too.

ETA: Just saw you were actually talking about Hotels .com. Somehow I missed that lol

I understand totally. Went through something very similar. Got a $100 ebay card from staples - then I was heading out to hear my DH play (he is in a band). And I went to look for it a few days later and could NOT remember what I did with the package. Took me another couple days to find I had put in a drawer and it fell behind the drawer between it in the dresser! Hope you find yours soon!

Right?! I know if I hadn't been on my way somewhere that minute, then they wouldn't have been misplaced. I decided to check all of my incoming shipments and one is supposed to arrive on Saturday, the same day we are going to an all-day music festival. I'm going to have to learn how to reschedule UPS shipments so I won't have to worry about it being on the porch all day.

I'm leaning towards this has more to do with gcm not having a good stock before the sale. With how many times we hear of people not getting the promos after they sign up i can't see a lot of new people being able to get this one with how recently the blog post was. Maybe the next or the one after, but not this one.

Good point. It took me over four months to get my first promo.

Yes, I bought hotel.com gift cards from eBay. I got the e-gift cards from Paypal Digital Gifts. There is another vendor on eBay who sells them, but you would have to wait for the physical cards to come through the mail.
I've never used Swagbucks, I usually go through ebates instead and they have similar deals. You could go through a portal like that twice actually. Once when you buy the gift cards through eBay, and then again after you have the gift cards and are ready to book the hotel. I hope that makes sense!

I still don't think this is *just* one blog post. This churning is being discussed in lots and lots of places that I never saw it even 6 mos ago. And most of those places have nothing to do with Disney. This is so much bigger than Disney. FWIW, I began getting ebucks after I first signed up. I got the very first promo after I signed up and that happened on all three accounts I have signed up with. For some, there does seem to be a waiting period but I wouldn't think that is the norm.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but there were too many results to search thru...

Can you use a staples gc to purchase another gc?

For those that use BB, does it cost extra to get the loadable Ebay gift card? I'm looking to churn $650 in BB cards and am trying to buy the least number of Ebay cards.

There is no fee for those. You can load up to $500 on each card.

Has anyone else seen that Best Buy sells products on ebay - including gift cards!? I was looking for gift cards that I would use to get more ebucks, and on searching for Starbucks' cards, I saw some for sale at BB. They offer free delivery - because you pick it up in the store. Live and learn.....

Peace Love and cash back

I had my first limited purchase today at GS. I was purchasing ebay GC's. The first 2 were for 100 each and the 3rd one was for 200. At that point I was told that they would have to call the district manager if my total was over $350. It had nothing to do with paying with GC's since I hadn't even pulled out my GS gift cards yet. I just paid for $300 worth with my GC's and moved onto a different GS to finish my purchase. I have been to about 6 different GS's, but this is the first time that I was limited. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them?
