I'm just curious - anyone get locked out initially trying to purchase from a seller other than PPDG? Also, anyone doing actual PayPal payments to PPDG (not eBay gc to buy PPDG)? PPDG seems to be the common denominator.

I got locked out from Gift Card Mall. I had successfully bought cards from PPDG earlier today; two hours later I could not buy from GCM no matter what I did. Ebay could not fix it either.

Ok, I'm confused. Which barcode should I be scanning? I scanned the little barcode in store and it worked. I just used the Target app's built-in barcode scanner on both big and small barcodes and they both recognized it as a GC and prompted me to type in the event number.

You're not crazy. I did self checkout this afternoon and found the same thing - the hand scanner wanted to scan the little bar code, not the big one.

There may be variations from location to location, depending on the equipment and the setup. For example, some people report lots of issues scanning mobile cards on their cell phones, but I never have.

Got locked out too after purchasing GS from PPDG. Called PayPal and talked to rep and then supervisor. Neither could fix it! I guess I wasn't lucky enough to get someone who knows what's going on.

I doubt any of them *know* what is going on, but it is feasible that one of the actually found something that worked for 1 person, and then could not repeat whatever worked, so everyone else locked out is still stuck....

After Mom's account reset, I was able to get Target cards from GCM using gift cards to pay, but locked up again trying to get from PPDG. There is definitely a problem with PPDG. Hopefully they will fix it.

I had to sign into the paypal acct and then do a call and enter a code. Then I could change the password. After that, I waited about an hour (well, really I was messing with my daughter's account to try to get that fixed - which didn't work) and went back into her eBay. She also received an email that said her account had been restored. As long as I didn't go to PPDG it was fine. As soon as I tried PPDG it locked her account again. It's all very frustrating.

you put in all your gift cards as payment first and click pay with paypal as the backup method at the end.. it does work the transaction will show up on your paypal account, with the gift card numbers in the transaction. the full amount ex 900 will show in the main page but then when you click on the transaction it will say you paid with gift cards as payment

So here's how my afternoon went. UPS shows up with 1,650 in Target gift cards around 3:00pm. Get notice of 8% ebucks offer. Run to Target and was able to convert all 1650 to ebay gift cards in store. Drive home. GCM restocked with 150's. Bought 1650 in gift cards. So I'm right back where I started at the beginning of the day - waiting on 1,650 of Target gift cards to arrive. Though I did net 119 in profit when it is all said and done.

So I am new to churning and read tons of pages on this thread, but I want to see if I got it right...In your situation, could you have taken your Target cards that you just received via UPS and used them on Target.com to save another 5% to buy the online version of the ebay gift cards to then use to take advantage of the 8% offer when you buy more Target gift cards thru Ebay?

You can no longer get 5% off on gift cards purchased on Target .com, even if you pay entirely with a Red Card.

That's so weird how so many of us got super locked down through PP today. I had been getting the repeated text code to unlock mast week but this lockout is different. Same error code as stated above. When I log into Paypal there is no issue. Unfortunately it's on DH's account and I can't be the one calling in so I have to wait for him to be home and willing to do it.

Unless I fake a man voice which I have done before for a CC I was trying to cancel of his but at the end of the phone call the CS rep said "Thank you ma'am, have a good day.". Maybe I wasn't very convincing?

It is weird how many had problems. Were all trying to buy through PPDG? My two GCM orders went through perfect. Then I tried to order for my aunt (b/c she was locked out of PP) from PPDG and then I got locked out.

I was. I did one successfully (the first and only one that has worked) and then I tried for #2-- that was the deal breaker apparently.

Did anyone else besides friendlyadvice2 get their ebates credited from the 5% cashback? My GC's should be delivered tomorrow but I never got ebates. Guessing it will credit tomorrow. Seems to be taking longer and longer these days for ebay purchases. At least for me.

I did the 5% but used my eBay bucks to pay. Nothing has credited but I figured it may not since I didn't pay via credit card.

YOu don't have to fake a man's voice. So many men's names are now also used by women. And some men have been known to have their wives and/or assistants handle calls to customer service.
