Check your Amex Cards! Just had a $25 credit when spending $100 at Staples dot com. Purchased a $100 Target e-gift card, will load onto Target dot com and get a Disney gift card card for 5% off.

Another data point . . . I received the $25 statement credit as well on a Staples egift purchase (Target card). To clarify - this is not just the Amex email (Congrats - you used your Amex offer), but the actual $25 credit posted to my account. Good news!

I remember it happening...more than once. It was always temporary, even though plenty of people sounded the death knell for the discount. If the REDCard discount is working in-store, it should work online, too.

Yes, it has stopped working on gift/"entertainment" cards online and worked on other things in the past. Hearing that it is working in store for the redcard 5% off on entertainment cards reassures me that this is just Target being wonky as usual.

That's interesting and I'm Glad you two have such good memories! I know it could be changed at any time, but these comments definitely make me feel better, and furs with my thoughts on this situation as well. Curious why you think it's a glitch since it works in store. Because if they we're gonna take it away, they'd do it online and in store?
Any memory of how long this glitch online lasted last time, days, weeks?

I looked back in this thread and it happened early/ mid april of 2015. I think it was covered better in the 12% off thread that has been removed, but there was some talk on this thread as well. One more reason to read the whole thread.

Interesting that it happened last year in mid April, we're at approximately the same time this year, too. Actually I'm kind of starting to remember this a little from Last year, I was buying Disney cards for May 24 hr day trip though I wasn't doing the eBay churning yet, I was just doing Raise to target to Disney.

Well, if we can at least still buy gcs with gcs, maybe even first rounds in store with redcard for eBay cards where we could get 5% at least then, we'll still be able to do churning thru eBay for ebucks, which is where I find biggest savings.

Yep, I remember that. It was so untimely for me. I had to go to the store and use all my gift card and no get the additional 5% off. It was super irritating!

And yet another data point...I ordered an eBay GC (physical) and even though I got the email from AmEx which said that I had used my offer, my statement closed a couple of days after my purchase and the $25 was NOT credited.

Check your current AMEX charges..I purchased eBay egc and got the statement credit yesterday even though I purchased it several days ago when I posted it on this topic.

I think the terms said it could take up to 90 days to credit.

I Wonder if they are doing some work on the site, not to fix the loophole, just general normal stuff that they do at this time of year maybe.

Does anyone else think like I do, in that I think they'd lose quite a lot of business/money closing this loophole? I can't imagine they don't realize people are using this, and though they may not want to acknowledge and officially allow it, seems like to close it now would cost them a huge amount sales! Another poster mentioned they wouldn't be spending as much there. I mean I think I'd be spending less there, and especially those who aren't churning, or only do raise(or similar) to target to Disney.

I did check it online and no, there is no credit to the account. I have the email but the statement closed on 4/22 with the full amount owed. But
@MarlaSingersLaundry is correct that the fine print says that the statement credit will occur "within 90 days after 6/19/16". I find it to be odd, given the wording, that people are seeing a credit on their accounts already, while I may have to wait until mid-September to see mine!?

I don't know if they realize it, but they certainly would get less business from me. Their stores aren't convenient enough for me to shop at regularly, and their online store isn't as useful as Amazon.

I wonder when the discount was changed because I placed an order at 2 am and it went through with the 5% discount. I'm still holding out hope that it is only a glitch.

I had to order a few items from Target tonight (no gcs) & my red card is my default. I have never had to enter the card # since I listed it as default until tonight. It shows it as my default but didn't pick it up at checkout. If they're working on their system again, that may be why.

Kroger 4x fuel points ends Tuesday. I need another $1,000 in Disney gift cards before August. I have no clue what to do. I may stop by Target today and pick up a $50 gift card with a gift card and make sure that's still working.

I will stop by my target to see too, but I won't be there until Thursday or Friday. If we can't use gift cards to buy gift cards anymore at Target, I guess I try to order more of my regular supplies online with the gift cards I have if I can still get the 5 % discount out of them that way.

Am I the only one that can't order Disney GC online? It keeps telling me that I need to get one in the store. I haven't bought that many through Target.com, maybe $500 or so.
