Disney Gift Card Deals

For those that haven't been getting the ebay promo emails but said they "saw it when they logged in" where do you see it? I have never gotten a promo email in spite of having the box checked since I opened my account that's more than 10 years old. (Yeah, I tried unclicking and it and saving and reclicking it a couple months ago and nothing.) Anyway I was wondering where I would look to see if I had on offer on the site.

Thanks!

Once more question. I just got back from a trip and about to start saving/churning for next trip of unknown date. :D Haven't included ebay before (just done target deals + red card %).

Would you say it was worth my time to buy the $100 ebay gc for $95? Either with or without buying the Southwest $100 for $90 with the ebay gc. (We always fly southwest.) Just trying to decide if savings is worth it. I planned to build up some churn money from swagbucks first, but saw the current gc offers and wondered. Thanks!

I have notify me of promos clicked on my eBay settings but have never received an email. When I see on here that one is happening, I log into my account and it is on the main page where the specials scroll. If it weren't for this forum, I'd never know.

If you haven't included eBay in your cycle yet and are just starting to churn, presumably, with a smallish amount, I'd say it's worth picking up a $100 eBay GC for $95 if/when eBay/PayPal Digital Gifts runs such an offer. I see the sale mentioned two pages back has ended. This kind of deal is an easy way to pick up an extra and immediate $5 towards your next GC purchase on eBay.

Some people in this thread tend not to jump in on this deal because if you are using a eBay GC to purchase that $100 eBay GC for $95, that eats into the $5,000 per 180-days limit that PayPal imposes on gift card spending. (You need a PayPal account to use eBay GCs on eBay.) Preferably, your PayPal account is verified so you can use $5,000 worth of gift cards in a rolling 180-day period, or you're otherwise limited to $500 worth of gift cards per month. (If your spouse or other close family member has a separate eBay and PayPal account, presumably you can churn through those when you've hit your limit.) Every time you cycle and end up using eBay GCs to pay for Target (or Southwest, etc.) GCs on eBay, it eats away at your limit until 180 days elapse to free up that amount. So given the limit, some people try to wait for better deals like 4x (8%) and 5x (10%) eBay Bucks (which would give you $8 and $10 per $100, respectively, in eBay Bucks that are redeemable next quarter for more GCs). You cannot get eBay Bucks on purchases of eBay GCs, but do get them for Target, Southwest, etc.

If you're just starting with a smallish amount, you're probably in little danger of hitting your limit. But to maximize the real dollars saved/earned through churning, you have to do it in volume and that will run through a lot of eBay GCs fast so you learn to be picky.

As for the $100 Southwest GC for $90 deal, I see it's still going on (but you should act fast). I don't fly Southwest, but my understanding is that you can use only 4 forms of payment per purchase, so if your fare is more than $400, your fourth form of payment should be your credit card (3x $100 GC + credit card). Alternatively, you'll have to split your tickets into separate purchases.

It may. Tho I don't know. I doubt anyone else knows. Follow your own instinct here.
True, MrInfinity, I no one knows for sure, we're all just speculating really. I guess I wonder which is better or worse. Making a few orders, looking the same, trying to make best use of the 4 gc's you are allowed to use. Or, having to make more orders to using the cards in varying amounts. The biggest order you can do I think, is $750, with 3 $150's and 3 $100's, unless you do $200 cards, but afraid to have those cancelled. So, if you break that up and buy $300 or $200, wouldn't having so many orders be more attention drawing? I don't know. Plus I just received my cards when the next promo came out so not as much time/days to add to Target and get them converted quickly to be able to do the deal. Hate to not use the ebay promo to the fullest I can in case I don't get another, lol.

So, because of the limits like you listed above in your post, my DD25 is going to open an ebay account to link to her paypal account. Right now her paypal acct is linked to her bank acct she has with fiance. We are thinking of linking a bank account we have together to it, thought it's basically going to be used their to use the gc's for churning. Hopefully that will be okay. How do you even find out if your account is verified? How can you get it verified if it isn't already? We have about $1500 we can churn, but after one more good deal, hopefully in March, we'll reach the $5000 limit on my acct and the $500 limit in ebay bucks by end of this quarter. So, to keep things churning we need to get her acct going. After this next one, no churning for me until mid July, and slowly can add more over the next months. Maybe we can alternate, once her acct would be off limits, mine would be back and able to be used.Any thoughts would be appreciated!

What else do people do to keep things going once they reach their limit at the $5000? Boy, it's so limiting and it came so quickly for me!

Edit: it just went through. :) Disregard!

I ordered 2 $100 Disney and two multipacks of tissues from Target at 6pm yesterday (comes with free $5 Target GC). It has been on "Order Created" for 14 hours. Is this typical? I have never had an order process so slowly. I'm just checking if this normally precedes cancellation.

An order I placed around 6PM yesterday is still processing. Fingers crossed it doesn't get canceled.

I placed an order last weekend and had the same situation. Maybe orders over the weekend are taking longer now?

Trying to fit a way to churn a card for additional savings but I think I have hit every discount possible - here is what I do. with my problem listed at the end!!

1. Our local grocer in PA has double fuel perks frequently. This is awesome as it allows you complete tank fills ups - I think Kroger used to or still does only allow 1.00 off per gallon. Not Giant Eagle. I can fill entire tank for free. I purchase TARGET Gift cards when double points using a credit card offering 3% at gas stations. When double fuel, this equates to a 15% savings off 100.00 using credit card mentioned above.

2. Logo to cash rebate site, mine gives 2 percent to Target, buy Disney gift cards with Target red card as back up saving 7 percent (5 red plus 2 cash back)

3. Receive Disney Gift card in mail load it into Disneyvacationaccount for another 2 percent

Total 24 percent discount per 100.00. Fantastic Deal. Love it. I pace this year round for our two regular disney trips with no problem. We just in additon to our March and June WDW trips booked an ABD for this July. My balance for the ABD is due in 3 weeks. I can't order that many cards for the ABD balance thru Target....Any thoughts on how to churn QUICKLY?

If you have a credit card with a higher percentage back at grocery stores that's on top of it. Plus I get scrip for my DD's preschool at the grocery store - although I don't know the percentage. So say I buy $100 at Kroger - I would get 3-5% from Chase, 1% from the preschool, and another 40c per gallon on gas - which is between $5 and $10 depending which car we're filling up. To me that's better than the Target straight 5%.
oh we get the same perks for our local grocery store. only 5 cents off per gallon every $50 but it's not worth the gas to drive out of the way to Kroger for. Plus they do prescriptions also :P

This is why I don't recommend using eBay GCs to buy more eBay GCs - it eats into your 5k limit for a much smaller return.

Now, you can still buy Target cards on eBay, even though you hit your 5k gift card limit. You just have to pay for them another way. Depending on your financial goals and needs, this might be a reasonable option.

But assuming you have the time to wait before your next Disney expenditure, holding out for the highest ebay rebates is the best plan.

Don't think you will be able to get enough Disney gift cards through target that quickly but giant eagle is running a special deal tomorrow only for 29 cent fuel perks per $50 gift cards purchased as a leap day promotion. That's almost triple fuel perks. If I were you I'd buy whatever you think you can churn through target in time and the rest right in Disney cards. With the special promo you can earn up to 17.4% savings just in fuel perks alone. That's assuming you redeem the full 30 gallons and can use all the fuel perks by April 30 (not sure how you need to buy but guessing it is a lot)

Seriously???? Where did you see that? That is fantastic. But I need 5k and can get tomorrow for triple - but oh boy the fuel on that is going to add up fast and expire fast...any idea if you have 2 months to use the fuel?

I am thrilled with this - do you think I can run 1k thru target at least? 2k? Need it all by 3/21 ...

Fuel perks expire at the end of the months 2 months after they are earned. So any earned in Feb expire April 30. I originally saw it on this thread last week (someone saw it in a facebook post giant eagle answered) but was curious if they had changed their mind as I had seen no advertising at all In store, online, commercials, etc
However there was a quick news story on the 11 on news last night about special leap day deals at giant eagle. They specifically mentioned this promotion. As I have no details I cannot tell you if there are any limitations on quantity or anything.

With the recent bannings on target.com I do not place more than 1 order per day and do not place another order until I get an email my gift cards have shipped. I try to mix up how much I order not always ordering the max $500 allowed. Basically I'm trying to fly under the radar since we don't know exactly what triggered target to ban certain customers labeling them as resellers. So yes I think you could churn $2000 in time but there are risks. Disney cards could go out of stock on target.com again or you could possibly be banned like others. If either happened you could always buy in person at a target store and you just wouldn't get the extra 5% off (or the ebates cash back since you had also mentioned that previously)

Thank you so much for the great explanation. I just called my mastercard to warn them of a large purchase tomorrow. Will follow your advice of staggering the amount. I have had no problems in the past with target doing this but again I keep it steady thru the year and not constant but with this big balance due up now I am in crunch mode. Thanks!

I just placed an order at target for a disney gift card and it would not take one of my target gift cards. The one that was for $10. The message was that it could not access my gift card info at this time. I checked the balance and it was indeed $10.
I placed the order using another card but i am confused. Any ideas?

Is it an older gift card? I've had to call Target customer service to get an older gift card "reactivated".
