Wow - again already!? I wonder if eBay will sell out of Target cards before I can pick some up at Kroger tomorrow and turn them into eBay cards??? I hate to see an eBay promotion when I can't join in . . .

Thank you everyone for your help today. This is truly a wonderful board full of kind, helpful people.

I spoke to DH tonight when he got home from work. He had an interesting perspective. He believes Target might actually think there is fraudulent activity on my card. I didn't use it very much at all prior to my churning which started a couple weeks ago. He thinks they may truly want to verify that someone else doesn't have my card since my spending pattern changed so drastically. We talked about it and will fax them the documentation they want on Monday. Hopefully that will clear things up, but with Target, who knows!

I'll keep you all posted. I sure hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I just wanted to update you all of my situation. I know everyone is trying to figure out the bannings, so I wanted to update....

I faxed the requested info on Tuesday morning to Target. I just called this morning to check on the status. He said that they should have it reviewed by the end of the day today. I again asked what they were looking for and he said that just because of the recent changes in my spending patterns, they just want to verify my info. Once done, the hold/ban/suspension (didn't give me an exact term) would be lifted. This is definitely tied to my debit red card and doesn't seem to be a banning from .com. I am somewhat hopeful that it will be resolved. We'll see....

I post once I have an answer tomorrow.

Now to decide if I should run to target and convert some of my cards to eBay and take advantage of the 4x offer. I'd miss the 5% off, but it is still a pretty good deal. Decisions...decisions! :')

Yes, your $10 should still be on one of your cards. Its odd how ebay/paypal applies the gift cards . . . instead of depleting cards in the order you enter them, they take funds based on the gift card number. You should be able to view the transaction in paypal and see which cards were used and the corresponding amounts debited from both.

I'm not sure they take the money based on the GC number. I did some testing on this. I had $10 on one card (call it card number 1002). I had $200 on two other cards (call them card number 1001 and 1003). I then applied the $10 to an order (hoping to drain it). Then applied the card with a lower number and $200 value to it. It took the full amount off the $200, left the $10 (ok, expected as some mentioned the lower number thing). I then backed out completely, and applied the $10, but this time the $200 card with a higher number, hoping to prove that it would then drain the $10 card first because it's a lower number. Still took the full amount off the larger card. I believe Ebay looks at using the fewest cards, first. Tho I have gotten small cards to get consumed, but only when using multiple small cards, and it would drain all but one. I ended up having to use several of my leftovers on a small random purchase that I wanted to get them used up.

Bummer, I didn't get this one. Not in email, not online. I wonder if it matters how many Bucks you already have in the quarter. I'm close to the $500, so maybe they target people who haven't already spent a lot.

At least with Target, you can choose which GC's to use. Ebay's system is bizarre to me. If you will have GCs left over, definitely double check and see which ones have balance left after your transaction! I have to keep tabs on this or I would definitely lose some GCs.

Usually not long. Half hour to an hour, maybe? That's about how long mine usually take. However they're not activated until about 4 hours later, so you'll have the code, but you won't be able to use it just yet.

Very odd. I does make me want to spend a little more than my gift card value just so I can use up the card.

Perhaps I'm late to the party on this, but Swagbucks currently has 4% cash back on Target.com in honor of their birthday celebration. Ebates gives 2% (and I usually prefer that to Swagbucks for cash back..) but 4% is pretty good!

I use ebates for target and eBay and top cash back for raise (but I'm near the $1000 cap).

Top cash back has 2.5% back on eBay today. Not sure if you get it if you pay with a gift card.
