The whole thing is nuts if they don't want you buying GC with GC then don't let it go through! Or how about at least a warning! If you google banned from PayPal it's eye opening. I'm so glad I didn't have any active money in the account. My Ebay account hasn't been limited or anything......

Or, why don't they say no GC with GC in the terms? It's really unfair to ban someone when the rules weren't broken, especially without any notice.

I'm hoping eBay bucks aren't lumped in with gift cards. There really isn't any merchandise that I want to spend them on. I can load up on Starbucks, Chipotle, and Chevron physical cards if I have to.

I'm thinking it is all. She said it's ok to use a GC to purchase an item, but not a GC. Since all of these transactions technically go through PayPal, I would say it's ANY GC to GC transaction that can get you banned.

Wow, this news is very disheartening. Well I guess it's time for me to start cashing out my swagbucks for paypal cash instead of ebay cards now. For my current churn I originally invested about $300 cash to begin, but I have only been using "funds" derived from swagbucks to reinvest for several months now. At least I can switch to paypal cash and still use that to order Carnival cards on ebay. Definitely won't be adding up as quickly as it has been by doing this since there really isn't much actual churning happening with that process, but if it will keep my paypal account from being banned I guess it's the way to go.

I don't buy the whole "you can't use gc to buy gc" thing. It is essentially money. You should be able to spend them however you choose.

And they certainly shouldn't be able to close your account when you've violated no terms. That stinks.

Agree. and there is literally no way to appeal it. The more I learned about PP the more disgusted I became. I'm still sitting on $700 in Ebay cards and $400 in EBucks that I can't touch!!

Yes and I'd recommend once you have that money to tranfer it immediately to your own checking/saving account. I think if you stay away from PPDG you'll be fine but PP is really sketchy so I wouldn't take any chances with large sums of money.

Another part of this that didn't really make sense to me is this... the rep said that the problem with the GC to GC purchase is that they don't know where the original GC numbers came from. They don't know if they were stolen or purchased with a stolen credit card. How do they know the origin of anything?? They don't know if the [insert any product here] wasn't stolen, purchased with a stolen CC, or purchased with a stolen GC prior to being listed on eBay. Their argument doesn't really hold water, so to speak. Essentially, kidsfirsttrip and I have been accused, tried, and convicted of a crime we didn't commit.

ebay and paypal claim to be seperate but they still function as one. most ebay sellers wont sell to buyers without a paypal account. paypal is basically opening the door for competition by banning members, but as long as ebay and paypal are in bed together these shenanigans will continue.

I am done with PPDG also. I have not bought from them during the last couple of promos and now, I know I am done. I think viable options still are physical GS cards (which I churned today with no issues, different than last time) and other cards from individual sellers. I sure wish we would see someone other than PPDG selling BB. I had contacted SVM months ago asking if they would be selling Target at some point. They responded back fairly quickly and excitedly that they were working with Target to begin selling their GC's but I guess that never panned out.

Yes I did that too. Luckily some of the apps I use (Ibotta, receipt hog) take Venmo or will let you cash out for giftcards.

I would love it if Ebay allowed Venmo or something else. It sucks because you can't use GC's or touch eBuCKS without a PP account.

Exactly. Once you investigate you will read horror stories of people shut down by paypal just like that. Some with upwards or tens of thousands of dollars tied up for 180 days! Like they can't pay bills, etc. So in that sense I consider myself lucky. I always knew the degree of risk in the churning process but it still sucks. I would have rather been banned from Target!!

I will have to check out what gas cards they have available. I only fill up once a month, or so, but my husband goes through a lot, so that may work out well.

I was just there, they definitely had BP and I think Shell. They also had Southwest, that's what I got since they didn't have Amazon. Glad I didn't get more ebay.

Yep I'd say so. But somehow they get around it. Plus any GC balance "tied" to a PP account say goodbye to. Also shady.

Only if I can get a new PP account going without being shut down right away which is much harder than it sounds. You can't use EBay GC's or Ebucks without one. I CAN buy GC's using a credit card (only one not associated with banned PP account) but that's about it and those EBucks I earned are useless. It's a total nightmare.

I was also at GS today and my store had some gas cards (BP and Shell) as well as Hulu, Netflix, Southwest, Darden Restaurants (chilis, Red Lobster, etc), Amazon, Steam, x-box, itunes, google play...can't remember what else.

I agree this totally sucks and I'm sorry to those it's happened to already. I could understand if there was some stated term against GC to GC transactions, but without that I really don't understand how they can hold your money like that. I suppose closing the account and revoking ebucks is in the realm of possibility because ebucks are basically a promotion that aren't "paid for" so to speak, but how can your cards that are tied to the account be worthless now. That's just like them taking cash from you. Those cards were purchased and are your money.

If I recall correctly there was talk in the past of Amazon accepting GC to GC transactions at one point. Anyone know if this is still the case? I know there's no benefit like ebucks through Amazon, but I'm just curious.
