Do you get the Ebates for the entire order? I just placed my first BB order for 3 $50 ebay GCs plus a add-on (usually I just go to the store), I used an airline portal (need 1300 more for a flight next month ), anyone know if portals payout on the full purchase or just the add-on? (I am using AA)

I do get Ebates on the entire order even though the terms exclude gift cards. I had one successful order of just gift cards with no add on item and still received Ebates. Not sure about any other portals.

Did you have to go through verification through PayPal where they asked you questions like: "What street didn't you live on?"? I had to do that twice.

Yes...repeatedly....every time I have tried to contact them. For a while, I couldn't even access my account because I wasn't getting any of the texts sent to my phone to unlock my security key. I all but sent them a blood sample and retinal scan. I even attempted to purchase something from eBay that wasn't from PPDG and had no issues at all using PayPal so it is definitely not a PayPal issue.

I'm so frustrated because I am almost certain the problem is with PPDG (not eBay like they suggested) and they are not willing to look into it. They just keep telling me that the problem is not on their end and they don't see an issue.

i ended up buying 950 in physical gamestop cards

I don't understand why PayPal does not fix their issues. There is no way they don't know they have a problem. Constantly accusing your customers of fraudulent acts, even after they have verified their identity, is just wrong and unacceptable.

ugg so got out of the ER in time to have 10 minutes to try to get an order through. PPDG locked my account and DHs account. called them and got the accounts unlocked. So of course once account was unlocked offer for ebates and ebucks had ended 15 minutes ago. Told the paypal rep that it shouldn't take so long to verify my account and shouldn't have to verify it so many times. She said that they have had a lot of people buying gift cards with stolen credit cards. After it asks you to verify twice call them and they can push your order through. So we will see if that works next time. stinks to have missed out on $220

I think this happens at all different values. I bought $200 in gc of Best Buy yesterday, and then they wouldn't let me get another $100 gc a few hours later. It might be arbitrary, or they might have some IT problems or both. I do plan to say something in my feedback again, and I would consider sending them a separate note if they weren't affiliated with Paypal.

I think that Paypal will first use any cash you have sitting in your acct. Say you got money from ebates or something, when you go to make a payment for an ebay purchase, it uses that first. Had that happen with a small amount that had been returned for another ebay purchase and next thing I bought, it took that money first.
Another time, with PPDG, back in April, I was trying to verify things, and it went to where it was gonna charge my bank account, luckily I saw that, I was confused but finally realized what it was going to do, and backed out! Somehow I got it thru using the gc's for payment next time, but gotta definitely watch that!


Lately I've just kept my ebay cards in my purse, but in the past I have typed the gc #'s and value, in notepad and then taken a pic of that.


Yeah thought of doing that but ebay doesnt like my phone and never lets me check out

I was looking at a non-chain hotel in Utah. The rate for the room I wanted on hotels.com was $319 (it was roughly the same as other travel websites), but the hotel's advance purchase rate was $253 (AAA rate was $280ish). Huge difference!

Perhaps this is not the norm. Will have to keep my eye on this and be strategic as @Angrose suggests.

Edited: $319 should be closer to $287 since I see there is a 10% coupon available.

Hotels.com is probably advertising the rack (standard base) rate, while the hotel directly is offering a discount off of the rack rate. I always always always recommend booking through the hotel directly, but with gift card churning a.k.a free hotel stays with hotels.com, it's a no brainier to take the free stay if you aren't set on changing anything.

When it works, it's within a few hours. When it doesn't work, I send in a report, they tell me "This could take 7-10 days" and then within a day, they send me a reason for it not going through or the rebate. EXCEPT FOR last week. I have sent in 2 requests and they are dragging their feet.

I just went to sign on to Ebay and they asked for my password which is weird because it's on auto fill. All I did was enter "E and B" then clicked ebay. com/myb/PurchaseHistory. Now it's say "Ebay Malyasia" and computer is thinking. Now says "The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server." I just changed ebay password.

Since Ebates says they don't payout on the portion of the purchase paid for with gift cards, I won't send in a report if I don't see the cashback. If the cashback shows up I consider myself lucky, if not, I don't want to draw attention to my transaction and invite any further scrutiny. Fortunately there's only been a couple of times when I haven't received it. I wouldn't hesitate to report it if I paid with a credit card and thought I was entitled to it.

I just went to "Contol Panel" on my computer to see if anything has been added. Today "dell foundation services" has been installed. My Dell laptop is only a few months old. I scanned my computer for malware, nothing.
If you google "dell foundation services" it sounds like it some kind of phishing or computer hack thing. A security flaw.
First I went to "task manager" to "dell foundation services" then "stop service". The internet told me to do that.
I decided to just uninstall it.

You can do either one. Although one time I ordered a $200 card and thought for sure I choose the e-gift option, but the confirmation showed it was a physical card being mailed to me. I likely picked the wrong option.

Have you done this recently? I had two orders cancelled today while trying to combine 4 smaller cards into egift cards.
