Disney Gift Card Deals

After all the issues you guys have been having I decided to take my measly $100 ebay GC and use it for a Disney Dooney for my trip. I figure it saves me on something I most likely would have bought there anyway LOL.

I have $500 in Target GCs that I was going to use for ebay but I think I'll just hold on to them to see if things get better and GSM does eventually re-stock. If not at least I know I can get Disney GCs with them and if there ends up being a reason I can't, I shop at Target regularly I can use them for household items and stuff like that.

I hope you all get your paypal issues resolved. I'm not sure if this will help anyone but when my paypay needed me to verify my address, ss# I thought after I did I would not have any problems. That wasn't the case and it turns out the problem was on my end, my CC put a fraud alert on my card and paypal couldn't process the transaction. I called them and straightened it out and was able to purchase my GCs through GCM.

Best Buy has a policy that states that you cannot purchase GC with GC, but the website and the POS system in store will still allow it.

Is this a policy of theirs? I know that the online orders consistently get cancelled but I have never encountered any type of problem whatsoever at any Best Buy I've with any employee. Large amounts and everything, never had anyone even bat an eye at GC to GC transactions. I'm not suggesting you're wrong just if that is a policy it must be the worst communicated one company wide.

OK....I'm done:teeth:.

I just bought used my final $450 in eBay to get $450 in BB. I'll take those to the store (probably not all at once, though) and use them to buy Disney gift cards. I also just use the last $200 I had in Target gift cards and bought $200 in Disney gift cards.

So right now, I can breathe easily knowing that I have the $1500 in Disney gift cards that I need to take on our vacation in October, except for the $450 I need to get from Best Buy. I also have another $150 in eBucks which I will use to purchase a $100 Hyatt gift card and then use the other $50 on whatever I want.

It was a rocky ride at times, but after plugging the final numbers into my spreadsheet, I see that I saved 42% on my Disney gift cards:cheer2:. I am still participating in Perk, Swagbucks, Shopkick, mPlaces+ and using those for Target gift cards. I can combine those "free" gift cards, along with the Target FWP cards, and use those towards Disney gift cards in the store, as long as Target keeps selling them and allowing GC->GC purchases. It will take a little more time, but my next trip isn't until 2018:goodvibes.

Thanks to all of the helpful folks here on the DIS, and this thread in particular:disrocks:. I think this deal is dead, but that doesn't mean that there won't be another one around the corner:surfweb:.

Ok, I tried again...this time, it allowed me to apply the funds and I showed a total of $0 and it asked me to select my payment method. I chose PayPal, entered my password and got this..."70245 70358 TRANSACTION_REFUSED 70138"

So now who do I have to contact to get this cleared up? I think it is a PayPal deal, right? The error didn't happen until I entered my PayPal password to log in.
Call PayPal. Be prepared to spend a lot of time. I called 4 times. Once, I was disconnected. Twice, the CSR insisted it was an eBay problem. The last one saw the problem and corrected it. I spent a total of 2 hours on the phone yesterday trying to get my account unfrozen.

ETA: OOPS! I see that you were able to make your purchase from PPDG. Good luck with finishing your churn.

Their policy actually states that gift cards cannot be redeemed on prepaid open loop gift cards (such as Visa, MasterCard...). However, there is no exclusion of closed loop gift cards which is why the stores are allowing it. Yesterday at check out, I had an experienced cashier who has worked at BB a long time and she had no problem with me paying for the eBay GC with a BB GC.

I do love eBay, but I have to admit that I have racked my brain trying to figure out what to buy. Best I can do is DS's college textbooks (sometimes) and Lowes gift cards. I don't want to purchase junk that I wouldn't have otherwise bought just cause I have the gc's. Would be ideal to reduce monthly expenses somehow. I need a new (used) car. Can I buy that on eBay?? If you are willing to share, I would love to know what you're buying! I would just churn BB to Ebay if PPDG wasn't such a pita!
What isn't there? Detergents. Bicycles. Lawn Mowers. Grills. Tools. Toys. Disney stuff. If you should end up with EBucks and Target cards not come in stock, that is hardly a bad thing as surely you can offset $500 worth of other life expenses by spending your EBucks instead. And you have a month to do it, so it's not like you have to rush.

You can buy cars... I know someone who bought a car on Ebay. It worked out fine!

OK....I'm done:teeth:.

I agree w you about this deal being done. Target's hit it from multiple angles. But this particular Ebay-Target action is only something that began in the last few months. People have been creatively shopping for years before and new options will open in the future.

So i went ahead and got the sears card for $85, a game stop for $50, and a $100 best buy. I went ahead and checked out not really thinking at the time. I was updating my spreadsheet and noticed i only got $12.70 in ebucks. I knew that wasn't right. I ended up looking at the stipulations on the offer and it's for items of $100 or more.

I found it interesting that the $85 qualified. Which it seems to have done for you as well. Must be the regular price of $100 triggering it.

That makes sense GMU MOM thanks for the info.

I have an unrelated question for Dismeri or anyone who uses the Kmart churn. My account did not get the recent 5x offer, DW's did. Her account, for whatever reason, absolutely will not allow PPDG transactions to go through. I've done all the steps, tried all the tricks, and decided it's not worth our time to get it fixed because no matter how many times we've talked to customer service at both PayPal and Ebay, it just won't work on her account, not even for a $25 card. My account typically gets more offers than hers anyway (except for this one) so I just use hers for physical and mine for PPDG churns.

Anyway, I decided I'd test the waters with yesterdays Sears offer. Seemed too good to pass on if it works and as someone else mentioned, if I get stuck with them I can break even selling them to a resale site and still pocket the eBay bucks as profit. So my question is will the physical Sears GC's work at Kmart, or do I have to go to Sears to "trade" it for a Kmart GC? I know at Kmart either way I will have to use a self checkout, but I'm just wondering if the Sears GC will work on Kmart's POS system. TIA!

I was thinking... For those of you who get locked out of PP and then call and find a knowledgable CSR that can see what's wrong and fix it, can you ask them what they did to fix it? Then maybe the next time it happens to one of us we can pass that info along to whoever we get connected to so they can try the same thing.

Isn't @DIS_MERI at Disney? In the meantime, some helpful posts by her:

I used a Sears gift card yesterday at Kmart to buy an eBay gift card. The cashier swiped it at the register no questions asked.

You can use sears and kmart cards interchangeably. However, digital gift cards require a manager override at Kmart. So, when I had a digital card, I went to sears and used my digital card to buy a physical card (they didn't have kmart cards, so I got a sears one). My sears doesn't really have any useful churnable cards other than sears cards, so I then took my physical sears card to Kmart to get ebay/gamestop/disney cards :)

We only did a quick 5 day trip, so I've been back a week :( But going again in October, so the Disney depression isn't too bad right now ;)

Thanks for the info. The ones I ordered yesterday are from SVM (from Illinois to Michigan SB quick delivery) and are physical so good to know I can skip that step. But based on what I've seen you post before I should go to a self check-out correct?

ETA: nevermind I missed some posts where people had luck at a register. Thanks again for the help everyone!

I don't know if it will help, but the CSR I talked to said that my account was accessed from an unrecognized device which is what triggered the alert. I had cleared my cookies from my laptop before I logged in (which sometimes makes me "re-identify" my device on other websites) and I had also tried the transaction from my phone. I'm not sure which of the devices (possibly both) was the one deemed "unrecognized". They even deactivated my PayPal debit card so they don't mess around when they think your account has been compromised. Yes, it is a bit of a hassle, but I am glad they are diligent about it. I had my PP account hacked and drained about 10 years ago and resolving that was a HUGE effort compared to this. I had my account unlocked and order processed within 10 minutes. The CSR said that my debit card will be reactivated in about 30 minutes and that I should be all set.

If the issues with PPDG start to resolve, I may attempt to cash out my rewards (Swag, Perk, etc) for eBay gift cards instead of Target. Is there a posted limit on how many eBay gift cards you can use on a single transaction?

They claim 8 or 10 on their site I believe. However, I've heard reports of others on here using as many as 15. They do, however, impose a limit of $1000 per transaction when using gift cards, regardless of how many.

It's on the website.
Can I use my Best Buy gift card to purchase another Best Buy gift card?
No, Best Buy gift cards cannot be used online to purchase another Best Buy gift card.

Just bought a BB giftcard via PPDG using an ebay gc. Amazingly I wasn't taken though the neverending verifcation process and the gc worked.
